  • When you ask, people will start posing and kind of ruin the moment.

Just take a shot and when they get offended, delete the picture.

Show respect, when they don't like it.

Use a prime lens (50mm or 85mm) and you get less attention then shooting with a big 70-200.

And when you start, start shooting at events like the ones in the video.

People will let you take a picture more easy.

(sorry if i got some words wrong)

  • what would happen if you take stolen shots?

  • @ghettoqueue what exactly do you mean?

  • @LearnMyShot if you take shots from people without asking permission, would they get offended, something like that, especially on city streets?

  • @ghettoqueue from my experience. only 10% percent of people will get offended (turn away, or block their face) so if you find 10 interesting looking people you will end up with 8 great shots. not a bad ratio.

  • can you do a tutorial on how to edit photos like you did on this video?

  • you can shoot alot of people in a short period of time...ha ha dark humour

  • lol maryjana day

  • @mattp566 lol I quickly dug deep in my memory to see what parades have a visited before... and that one came up...

  • @LearnMyShot lol i like your accent and i know this is a diffrent video but when are we gonna learn how to do your style of b&w

  • Do you know what? I really enjoyed watching the rest of the videos like you recommended. I can't spell your name so I will call you Mr BBB.

What would be amazing, and also get you hundreds of thousands of views would be a video on wedding photography!

Maybe not a live wedding, but just dress some people up in bridal and groom gear and show us how to best position the couple/individuals.

Also Mr BBB, do you have flikr? if so add me on, my name is 'vin dhir', your critique would be useful thanks!

  • did you see the one on 4th of july. it called "the time to take historic photographs is now"

  • Bang, bamg bang! I want more. Keep it up

  • 3:34 shaking that booty on the left of frame - nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

What is this place? seems like every freak in the world gathered in one place, great location for this type of work though.

  • @woody1380 it's Coney Island, Brooklyn. Place notorious for attracting all sorts of people.

  • what was your lens?

    Thank you

  • @BassamAlharbi i think 24-70 2.8

  • Adam Sandler hahaha

  • thank you for this video, what was the lens you used for capturing?

  • Great! Thanks for posting these tips!

What mode do you recommend using with street shots?

  • @Exupery1976 hey, if lighting condition is consistent shoot manual mode, but if light changes all the time go with aperture priority and bump iso to 400 to avoid camera share at lower shutter speeds. When I started I had issue with motion blur. I used to get too excited (i still do ) and don't keep my arm and body steady and shot too fast. So even at 1/100/ sec i was getting blur so I try shooting 1/125 and above on the street.

  • You are so funny!!!

  • @v1kkz thanks, check out my latest food photography video you can find it on channel page , that one is even funnier.

  • Happy people, wish you left the Iraqi and Afghani people happy like that as well.

  • @medceltic i haven't been to any of those places. But generally no matter where I go I leave people happy :)

  • What kinda settings u have?

    Nice colors!

  • thanks so much for sharing your experience. It was helpful just in time for my portrait photo assignment this week.

  • Nice work.

Did you get any shots of the storm?

  • @FloppyHatPhotos I did, will post that video on Monday.

  • cool

  • I'm just starting out in photography, and among some things I'm still learning, there's something I don't understand about having to get everyone's permission to take their picture, especially in such a crowded event. I live in Utah, and simply walk around with my 200mm lens taking random shots of whatever event is going on. The zoom helps catch those natural candids. I figure that each area you are in works differently when it comes to getting permission before taking a photo of someone.

  • @spkenny02 That's cool, you are doing everything right. There are many approaches to street portraits. Candid vs. posed ... this tutorial was on asking strangers to pose and directing them... 200mm is fine .. but try shooting at 24 mm ... see if you like the results better.

  • Hi Sasha! I am using my Canon T3i to shoot music videos (my husband plays the Renaissance Lute and sings), but I want to incorporate still photos too. I am learning as much as I can about photography from the wealth of knowledge available on YouTube. Your videos are particular inspiring! Please view the video 'Go crystal tears' on my channel - but don't be too critical, I am just starting out!! I will stay tuned to you!!

  • Wow - really great stuff! thank you!

  • @MichelleKoebke thanks! what kind of photos do you like to shoot?

  • This MUST be California.

  • great Fotos....

  • question tho, do you shoot manual or Av

  • @ny1fanta I only shoot manual, but trying to teach myself to trust AV ... still not comfortable with it...

  • great!! next time can i come with you? i live close to CI too

  • @ny1fanta very, cool we are going to organize a photo walk soon , CI or RedHook or some place in the city, Sign up for newsletter at our site and stay tuned

  • LOL Bang Bang Bang? Great stuff! When I think of Street Photography, I think of a more candid event.
