How was this Dutch cuisine, or even Amsterdam cuisine? Sure, like any large city they have many different dishes, but they're the kings of deep fryers! Talk about kaas soufle's, oliebollen, or their neat (and odd to me) hot wall vendors. Pancakes? What about poffertjes?
The wait staff in Amsterdam must have loved us when we went last year. We kept on tipping them in the American custom of 20%. So they were getting a 26% tip from us. I found out about half way through the vacation that the small tip is worked into the bill. Oh well. They deserve way more than that.
