I like the imagery but don't understand the 'goth' lable when Goths were barbarians that sacked Rome, but I don't recall any of this imagery in the history books....what the connection to vampires, fallen angels, etc?

The Italian writer Giorgio Vasari first used this term to describe negatively Medieval Gothic art (at the time known as 'French Work'), and the term Gothic meant 'barbarian', as it was anti-classical and bizarre. Modern Gothic imaginative world is highly influenced by Middle Ages art and culture, though affected by Romanticism, and that is probably the connection.

Being a late 80s - 90s kid myself I often think that " real " goths of today must get really pissed at their style having been so abused in recent years.

Thanks! I agree pics are what people think goths "should" look like. I'm old school goth from the mid 80's. It was more about being a bad ass not a reject from the drama club putting on cool makeup and black clothes and being "goth" for the weekend at your local gay bar.

Actually, despite being older and not a goth or an Emo ( I was a Sisters follower from their beginning which shows my age) I really do like this video.

Despite the goth graphics, the Sisters cover this brilliantly. I saw them in the late 80's and they played this so slow, and with so much fog and backlighting you would swear to God you had left the planet until the drugs kicked in and brought you back to Earth. Between this and Knockin on Heavens Door, I can't tell which one they were more born to cover.
