LOL oh FFS your response to an over alaised crappy recording is one where you are 10 miles from the fkin C64 and can here you mashing your keys *rolls eyes*
Oh, yeah, because the dropship has to follow a PRECISE, TWISTY path to get to a base on the surface, as opposed to the tricky business of pointing at the base and flying straight. You can't ask the computer to handle THAT. Hahahaha!
It was just called Aliens. And it was a sort of POV style game. I'll have to dig the cassette out from the loft and take a few piccies. Sadly i dont have the C64 anymore to get it loaded up.
That game was the best back then. I remember that we could never get past the Queen. One nigh we rented the video and watched it. When we got to the part of the movie where Ripley gets past the Queen by threatening the eggs, we rushed over to the C64 and booted it up! Sure enough, we got past the Queen.
Great memories. Please post more game screens if you've got them!
Nice dude, I could never do it with the keys. I had the old ass controller. Black with a red button. Old school, thanks for the demo. I loved the tune and I still have this game for my commodore64.
This game was a piece of cake. Map the APC maze, when a guy is under attack don't try to aim, hold fire and sweep back and forth. For the control room, wait as long as possible before you start killing aliens because they speed up when you do. Just touch them to make them back up. Map the duct maze and backtrack a lot to avoid aliens. Newt rescue uses the same map. Bash the queen until weak, grab her and drop her in the airlock. Done! Can be beaten without losing a single life. :)
Is there an extracted soundtrack (clear version if possible) for this drop ship scene? I always liked that tune. I got a kick out of it again to see and hear this scene again! :)
That was brilliant! I remember playing this stage as a kid and in my mind I imagined everyone on the ship throwing up as I made the attempt again and again. What a great game overall.
I loved the games Aliens vs. Predator 1 and 2, but this is one of those rare games that I think should really be remade, with the drop ship descent intact.
Thanks, but I prefer not losing quality from soundcard's analog outputs (don't use digital). Ripping from FLV worked and no quality loss. Now, if there was a way to extract the music from the game ROM files directly (even better), but then C64's audios were low quality.
I still have this for my C64. Such a cool game. I made it to the final queen level, but I couldn't figure out how to get past or kill the queen. I was searching around youtube in hope of finding the intro title screen cause I was planning on remaking it for a movie I'm making.
Hey the way past this is to turn "Ripley" sideways and then hold the "fire" button and then walk her up while facing the queen and fiiring. The queen will move away from the fire.
The maze stage was HARD as hell, I was never able to beat it myself...the key was to have at least 5/6 of the marines left so you can blow them up to get past the stage. My friend was able to beat it (only three times as I recall) but only with Ripley or Ripley and one Marine left.
I don't have the original game or C64, I download the C64 emulator.
I never really played the rest of the game... similiar to your situation with your uncle. I was really good at flight simulator games back than and my friend enlisted my help to pass this stage so he can get to the other stages in order (without using the skip stage feature) so he can see the entire ending.
Could u post the rest of this game? live the fight at lvl 3, seal open the door while defending 3 team mates from being snatched by aliens n then enter the maze. How was the ending? i never made it through the maze
hey i remember this. I used to get my uncle to help me to fly pass all the frustrating circles then leave the fighting action for me. U actually still own this thing? It started with weapons selection then this n then the fight that can't win. nxt is play with flame thrower prevent aliens from snatching 3 team members while they open the door
I'm calling bullshit, I don't see your hands.

I was mistaken, Newt's rescue uses a different maze.
For anyone who wants them, here are the codes for all the sections (with a perfect score, I believe);
7324G - Dropship
2727H - APC Rescue
1506E - Control Room
5761H - Air Ducts
0640C - Newt Rescue
0663F - Queen

Awesome job, back in the day I never would have attempted keyboard for dropship stage..always used the atari 2600 controller.
Thanks for a great blast from the past!

that dropship stage took me four days of retries to get through it.

I used MediaCoder to extra the audio from downloaded FLV. It's not great quality. :(

Why dont you use the Phonostar-Player? Search for it in google and download that program. It´s able to record sounds directly from the sound-card.
