  • Amazing keyboards!

  • I'd like to think that when Rick went to the other side, the first one to greet him was a bright-eyed, bushy-haired young lad called Syd

  • WHAT A JAM

  • I've never seen music anymore beautiful than this.

  • gilmour knows how to perform it much better than this. i think it's a bad performance

  • Quite possibly the best rock tune of all time. PROFOUND!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Echoes = best Pink Floyd track ever imho. Bless you Rick, David, Nick, Roger and Syd of course.

  • 0:40 my heart it's gonna break for real... this guitar sound can send the angels to hell!

  • LECTIO MAGISTRALIS

  • 1:28 david turns to rick and smiles. . .go damn

  • Gilmoure's all like "WHHHAAAARRRRMMMM wha duaduoaaooooAWWW"

  • FUCKIN AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How fantastic to see David and Rick totally rocking this masterpiece of theirs :))))

  • pink floyd is incomplete with anyone of them missing...

  • It's not Pink Floyd.

    By the way, good.

  • @cagao02 I think most people will agree, Pink Floyd (the recognizable part) is David Gilmour, Rick Wright, and Nick Mason.

Roger Waters (other than contributing lyrics, and some vocals) is a forgettable member of the band (i.e. Bassist), and with his attitude, it makes it that much easier to cut him out. He's the Yoko Ono of the Floyd.

  • @DonKael You're an idiot.

  • @DonKael hahahahaha that`s BULLSHIT!

  • @DonKael

I never, EVER used to pay any attention to lyrics or the warblings of lead vocalists ; they all just got in the way of the music. But then I listened to Waters lyrics; they have stopped me dead in my tracks on many occasions. He is a genius with words and has the insight to really get to the core of what's troubling him.Floyd is a lesser band for Waters no longer being in it.

  • @captainsurfcaster

Absolutely true! The division bell was NOT a good album and the words were not clever or inspiring! The Floyd were 4 guys and not 3! However the music will always live on!

  • RIP Richard Wright....

  • this is absolutely fantastic!!!!

  • Rest in Peace Richard Wright !

  • 1997ozmar,I'm Italian,and I LIKE VERY MUCH PINK FLOYD.

On my opinion, this is the BEST rock-band of all times.

  • damn this is so amazing, this song brought floyd back after syd

  • no words can describe!

  • ...and PSYCHEDELIC:scuse me again,but i'm not English and I don't speak very well this language,eh,eh...

  • @ULTORANGELUS de donde eres por que yo soy mexicano y me encanta esta cancion

  • ...PEACE,pardon...

  • Ok,Roger's words has been important, for some songs in concept albums...but WITHOUT DAVID'S GUITARS AND RICK'S KEYBOARDS,PINK FLOYD ARE NOTHING!!!...rest in pease,Richard, wonderful angel of psichedelic rock.

  • 0:21 Best Transition ever

  • very powerful - better than the Gdask-concert.

  • I like how they played this song exactly just like the album. And not updated it like other stupid bands do with their music. Most bands should learn a lesson from Pink Floyd. Play songs live exactly the way they were recorded.

  • ;) this song is the soundtrack of the universe

  • thanks for the upload, but come on pompeii has no digital age wizardry and beats the hell out of the guitar on this!!! _sigh_ :-) still very good tho!

  • Mixed thoughts on your post Cheese - Hey its still Gilmour....!! I do like the "rawness" of the whole Pompeii experience though - so fitting in with the "spirit of the age" - was life so simple then?

  • Does somebody know, what kind of organ Rick is using here?

  • I love to see how David look at Rick and smling with their jam part.... amazing moment for Rick, what a long way of partnership and friendship between these two guys.

Rest in peace Mr. Richard Wright

  • U know why they r smiling, simply coz they r sure waters is at the back row cursing his luck and saying"i wish i were with them"

  • I've seen Roger Waters three times, and though I would like to see David Gilmour, if the choice came between seeing Roger Waters again or seeing Gilmour, I would go with Waters. If there was no 'this or that' though I would go see Gilmour in a heartbeat.

  • Makes me smile and sad at the same time to see Rick having such a great time playing even after all the years it wa still fun for him to play. Rest in God's Arms Rick.

  • yeah, best band that ever lived the floyd. no question.

  • I feel the same way as you, well he at least got to do what he loved the most,,,his music. BTW, this performance of Echoes ranks right up there with Pompeii in MHO..Great performance.

  • nice!!!!!!!!!! amen to all you said here!

  • wow...i'm absolutely speechless...they're just amazing! *.* i love them!!

  • I love this song.... It`s great.... is a delicate sound of thunder

  • Thes guys play this with such ferocity and intensity. Let's hear it for 'getting better with time'!

  • And if you want to hear them really rock it out harder, listen to Pink Floyd The Nile Song, very Sabbath. But myself, I always liked the spacey blues sounds of this era of Floyd.

  • Ya can't go wrong with Floyd, no matter which CD ya listen to, although I've never listened too deep into "Atom Heart Mother". It makes me wonder about it if David and Roger both state that it was the worst, most embarrassing effort they've ever done. I'll hafta listen more.

  • They did feel that way if I'm not mistaken, however I see it's being played again. Atom heart Mother seemed to become more popular as of late. Echoes however is a work of art.

  • trust me on this one ok? i really think AHM is a wonderfull pre album to the meddle ablum. i hated this album the first time as a kid listening to it in the early 80's. my god this album grew on me. u have to listen to it a couple of times. i wish i knew why roger didnt like it. all of the album, different in ways, is truely a pink floyd album!

  • I agree. What perplexes most people is that when they hear each member's view on each Floyd album, it's mixed: some liked it, some didn't. It seems there's not a single Floyd album which all four liked. I think this largely comes from each one's criticisms of their own techniques as well as the fact that there was always some infighting going on between Waters and Gilmour, while Wright was pretty much the catch-all for the shit and just did his job. Mason seems more even-keeled about it all.

  • I listened to AHM a LOT in the early 1970s. When I look back on it now, I just have to say that it was still PF in the course of finding their groove, which they did through a lot of experimentation.

  • " I was standing by the Nile when I saw my baby smile" LOL.. yeah very jamming for old Floyd

  • Gilmour's solo preformances are so much better than the New Pink Floyd performances.Wish he'd come to my town. But it'd probably wouldn't be the same without Rick Wright.

  • I know this sounds more elborate and stronger but there's something so deep and yet gentle about the original one that just makes it second to none!

  • Of course it doesn't, it wasn't meant to better it. I don't think David intentionally goes out there and tries to one-up anything he did with Pink Floyd.

This is just meant to be another interpretation, another version if you will. And it's not just good, it's damn good.

  • It's so funny watching Rick playing in this segment. He is brilliant.

  • yeah.. i wish i had a hammond B3... and play rick's songs...

  • Don't forget that Leslie speaker, dude.

  • Echoes is a religious experience. Just watching David play that guitar and make it scream, squeal and shout like it's possessed by some demonic force is the definition of otherworldly.

You can't watch this or listen to this song and tell me that's not the equivalent of seeing God.

  • I love you.

  • after watching the original at pompeii and then this video is there any guitarist in history who improves with age as much as Mr. Gilmour.A true fine wine

  • Yeah the Pompeii version is probably one of my favorite recordings of the song, but this is incredible how almost 40 years later it still sounds just as good.

  • floyd makes noise with feeling, todays music is loud with no rythm and pointless!! this band rocks!

  • They are just amazing artists, no other words.

  • OMG! AGAIN!

  • dave and richard just trading licks with each other is worth the price of admission for me!! man I love this song!!!!

  • This is my favorite song of all time.. this is soo much a piece of art... musical art.. I simply love it soo much.. Shine on is my nr. 2.. but of all songs in the world this is the song that blows me away the most... Never will I forget lying stoned as fuck in bed with a headset on and full darkness just tripping away on echoes.. that is the pinnacle of my youth.. I'll allway look back at this.

  • 25 minute orgasm? During Shine On You Crazy Diamond. This is my second favorite Floyd song...and, once, actually edged out Shine On. And look at Rick and David - they rule, and by God, they know it.

  • PSYCHEDELIC!

  • Whoever said Pink Floyd music is dull and boring can eat shit, this ROCKS!

  • Betting: Live at Pompeii 2011 with Waters and Mason?

  • Definetely

  • I Think it´s my favourite one!!!!

  • who ever have had an 25 min orgasm? =)

  • That facial expression at 1.29.... priceless!

  • I noticed that too. It was so great to see them obviously enjoying doing this and the crowd was lovin it !!!!

  • holy shit

  • What is the dvd called?

  • Remember That Night - David Gilmoour in the Royal Albert Hall

  • Richard Wright is absolutely insane in this video...AND HE'S OLD...Can't even imagine him when he was younger....

  • They sound fantastic!!! They still have 'it' after all these years! This music just never dies and never will. Rest in peace Rick.

  • Thank you tillirose for sharing with me :))

    Thanks for posting pinkclimax :)

  • lejossssssss

  • RIP richard

  • new format = higher quality

  • That gave me chills... AWESOME.

    RIP Rick

  • Amazing Richard!! You'll never die....Thanks.....

  • this rendition is FLAWLESS. man wish I was there! gonna miss your, Rick. Cheers!

  • What a sadness...Now our hope to see Pink Floyd all riunited is gone for ever!

  • True, a great sadness. The loss of a pioneer in the British Rock Invasion!!! What a legacy though, and we can watch him whenever we want. I can't wait to see what kind of tribute the industry does? Who plays keyboard? Who still plays? Lubowitz? Lord? Wakeman? Emmerson? Banks?

  • Excellent Stuff Rick. What a way to go out for your last Tour RIP

    Wish You Were Here

  • Wright in great shape!!

  • keyboard killed it. everything fantastic

  • man! They got in age..!!!!

  • they sure did, but damn they can still rock out.

  • Where the hell is Nick Mason??

  • He did the Wish you were here/Comfortbaly Numb encores.

  • brilliant

  • rick looks so damn happy. i love it...rock on you old fartbags...

  • The jam part is unreal....I loved it when floyd did the "jam" parts...Like the "Jam" part of Atom Heart Mother, and Any Colour you like.

  • great!! not as good as pompeii tho

  • No, it's not meant to be better than Pompeii.

This arrangement is less raw and more refined than Pompeii. More funked out and less spacey.

All in all it stands on its own.

    Just like Pompeii!

  • pompeii > all

  • what.

  • why would they need steve vai??

  • david gilmour and steve vai are my favorite guitarists thats why.

  • i admit steve vai is good, but maybe its just i find the vai / gilmore combo the kind i wouldnt fist think of putting together. though thats just me.

  • I *love* when the song gets funky. "Echoes" is the greatest Floyd epic, no doubt!

  • KILLER... can you guys smell the smoke from his Amps ?

  • Gilmour is a genious, I agree, but this was the most ridiculous thing I read in months (Rabidsenses)...

  • What a sad lot you are.

    Repent.

    Repent.

Repent you vile and repugnant soul so that the Almighty David Gilmour does not forget you when your time comes

There is no god. But there is David Gilmour.

What more proof do you need. Compare a Bible to any music by Gilmour and suddenly . . . suddenly it all becomes quite CLEAR.

Godspeed to you indeed. May the peace, the love, and the epic muscianship of David Gilmour, the One, the Almighty, and the Ever Wonderful never forget you.

  • wow... just wow

  • 0:42. powerful fucking tone!!!!!!

  • it just blow your mind in pieces!!!

  • As I understand it Gilmour slew God and thus became the Almighty and Universal Deity Himself.

As for Jesus Christ, Our Holy Father David Gilmour decreed, "And that thou shall be a great guitar player or thou shall no longer sit at my right hand!"

And from this day forward Jesus plays rhythm guitar for Gilmour.

Those who disagree with this new divine arrangement will burn in Hell. Christian evangelicals burn in Hell regardless ... though now would be a good time to start praying to Gilmour.

  • No jesus isnt worthy of playing rhythm Jesus can replace his strings

  • Gotta love how David and Rick are trading licks- too cool. This whole part is my favorite

  • what are those bicycle bins and a pair of new boats

  • and where is part3???

  • See my previous comment.

  • o thank you, although this song should goes in 2 parts ;) but it isn t matter
