i was at the game. 2 wide receivers went deep on that play but were covered... only after glennon saw that did he take his knee. just so you know about contradictions... the hail mary was attempted before the knee - cant happen after since the play would be over :)
He wasn't looking for a receiver he was burning clock by backing up in the pocket. It was 3rd down with 30+ seconds on the clock. If he had taken a knee right away the play clock would have forced them to punt it away giving UVA another chance. No use risking a pass that could be picked off and returned for a score like UVA-VT in 95. ;)

The idea that the sports with the most money and popularity tied to them are the only ones in which true mental and physical skill, strength, stamina, and attitude are tested is offensively stupid. Don't put words in my mouth, I never referred to the sports we win as major or minor sports or created how they were seperated. I was recognizing that sporting events may be seperated into those categories and how it may be based. VT is pretty good at sports, bragging rights are fun, not something to be ordained by rules. i was at the game. 2 wide receivers went deep on that play but were covered... only after glennon saw that did he take his knee. just so you know about contradictions... the hail mary was attempted before the knee - cant happen after since the play would be over :)

He wasn't looking for a receiver he was burning clock by backing up in the pocket. It was 3rd down with 30+ seconds on the clock. If he had taken a knee right away the play clock would have forced them to punt it away giving UVA another chance. No use risking a pass that could be picked off and returned for a score like UVA-VT in 95. ;)

The tackle, while dirty (and no longer allowed under the NCAA rules) was legal at this game.
It was the helmet jerk AFTER the play which pissed UVA fans off. That's a 15-yard unsportsmanlike, and should've got him thrown out (as Sintim was thrown out).
