Homosexual activists understand the power of words.
Please visit my channel to watch a one-minute video clip in which popular atheist author Richard Dawkins admits that homosexual activists "hijacked the word 'gay'".
The word "homosexual" is more appropriate and accurate because it, unlike the word "gay", actually describes the behavior/attraction/relationship being discussed.
The word "gay" helps homosexual activists push their agenda.
The LDS Church does not speak for all Mormon people. Most Mormon believing faiths take a more relaxed approach to this issue. The LDS is simply the largest, and the most vocal Church in the Latter Day Saints movement.
That said, the LDS did not break any laws by participating in the democratic process. They are simply being cast as the scapegoat.
This is really sad. It just shows how any group that holds to true Biblical teaching or Judeo-Christian values will be despised by the wicked of this world. "They know not what they do."...
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexuality and homosexuality. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have successfully framed themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
It is pathetic that Mormons are trying to impose a theocratic, non-democratic ideology on America in the name of Christianity when they themselves are not even Christian. Mormons are not any more Christian than Christians are Jews. They possess their own religion, with their own holy book, just as Muslims have their own religion, with their own holy book. In a Christian theocracy that denied other people of different religions their rights, Mormons would be amongst those other people.
I guess Jesus hates the gays also, even though he preached a gospel of love, compassion, forgiveness, in addition to the phrase "thus a man shall leave his mother and father and cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh." This is called mulling the issue. Of course the Mormon church is going to disagree with the gays because Jesus himself already exressed his disagreement. I want to see what all these people have to say when they speak with Him
Ridiculous. It wasn't the Mormon Church that voted on Proposition 8 but the people of California; these people are allowed to express their viewpoints as much as the Mormons are. The gays forced the issue, especially knowing what the Bible says about marriage, but they want to co-opt the Bible. Also, if :equal marriage right:s is a shameful thing, then so is the Bible and what it says. There is no getting around the polarizing issue. You do not hear the gays mentioning what God thinks.
"This is what we get for standing up for morals and values in modern day society"
Bah! That's the thing about morals, isn't it? Nobody can agree on just what they are. That's why we don't make laws based upon your faith-based "morality" and instead only create laws when there is a compelling state interest in doing so. The state doesn't have a compelling interest in preventing gay marriages. If you think gay marriage is wrong, then don't get gay married, but don't take that choice from others.
The lds church dosnt hate anyone one, we believe that we should love one another. Just because the bible tells us that we shouldn't condone with homosexuality people act as if were the most evil people ever.My family is lds and I have a gay brother we dont criticize him or look down on him or treat him any different it's his choise
Even if you are gay that dosnt mean you cant be a member. We don't deny anyone membership in the church regardles of sex, race Ect. Besides other churches don't condone with homosexuality.
This is very biblical and is comparable to the stories in the bible. The Perverts, pedophiles and wickedness of the world attacking the good christian people. The Mormons are the only people who are standing up for what is right in the world.
@Robyshileileh Why is it killing all the straight people in Africa, then, huh? Why do lesbians have the lowest infection rate of any demographic? I'd love to see you try and explain that.
@Dr3wcif3r Iran is a theocracy, which is why they kill gay people. You seem to want a theocracy too, but based on Biblical law. So, shouldn't it be you who goes to Iran?
And in our society it has been excepted more and more through the years by some to be natural. In GODS eyes this is a sin against him and man.but you have been given the right to choose good from evil, and we've all made our choices well see what happens! This Mormon will keep you in her prayers
Just as the gays disapprove of the mormons, the mormons simply disapprove what doesn't look or feel natural. Being gay. Yet you hate them for it. If you believe in the Bible, believe Gods order, does it say, Adam and Eve in Genisus or Adam and Steve? 2+2 is 4. You do the math.
@Loveschuck87 We don't allow discrimination to be instituted into law just because some people "simply disapprove" or feel like it "doesn't look or feel natural."
@Ihopyourpancakes gays and lesbians have exactly the same rights as anyone else in America. They can choose to marry the way it's been done for thousands of years, or they can choose something that doesn't allow them to marry. Because in the Bible, marriage is described as being between a man and a woman. Pure and simple. Don't like it? Okay, you're entitled to your opinion. But let me ask you this. If it is natural, why can't you reproduce naturally?
@Loveschuck87 No, that isn't equal because the same argument could justify banning interracial marriages- one has racial criteria, the other has gender criteria (right to privacy, anyone?). No, we don't make laws based on the Bible. No, marriage is not the same as it has been for thousands of years, thank god. Lastly, the ability to reproduce has no bearing on whether being gay is natural, nor does its being natural have any bearing on whether they are afforded equality under the law.
@Ihopyourpancakes You're avoiding the facts. I mean come on. Not being able to reproduce doesn't mean that it's not natural? That's not reality! And interracial marriage not being natural is a really stupid argument to make. Look, why don't we just admit the facts before I waste anymore of your or my time?...
@Loveschuck87 I didn't say that interracial marriages were unnatural or anything even similar to that. Maybe you should reread my argument until you understand it, because you've got it all wrong. As for gays being unnatural- please explain what you mean. What is considered "natural" and what does it have to do with the ability to reproduce? In addition to that, what does the naturalness of it have to do with the protection of law?
@Ihopyourpancakes The point is, if you're really thanking God that marriage is not the way it has been for thousands of years, which I disagree with by the way. Then you're simply saying that God has altered his Biblican doctrine to suit your personal tendencies. You're not asking for equal anything. You can do the exact same things that I can do! You can marry a man if you're a woman, or a woman if you're a man!
@Loveschuck87 Oh, dear. No, marriage has been redefined many times, and for good reason. Quite recently in history it was redefined to no longer be a property transaction between the Groom and the Bride's father. In the Bible, several other marriages were considered acceptable- forced marriages to women captured in wars or slaves, marriages between multiple women and a man, marriages to rape victims, etc. History does not support your view of marriage in the slightest.
@Ihopyourpancakes You're asking pure a simple for additional rights that I do not have nor care to. So you want more rights than the rest of us Americans. I know you're not going to believe a word I've said, because you've convinced yourself that the Mormons are in the wrong all because they don't approve of degrading the sanctity marriage. I am choosing to marry a beautiful young lady, because I am a man.
@Loveschuck87 Additional rights? That's absurd, by your own logic. If gays were granted the right to marry, then straight people would have the same right to marry someone of the same sex if they wished. No extra rights. You'd have the same right to marry a man as I would.
How does two men getting a legal contract of partnership (a marriage license) degrade the spiritual aspects of your marriage in any way? Civil marriage is different from ceremonial marriage, FYI. And, sanctity is subjective.
@Ihopyourpancakes Okay, let me put it this way. I don't want to marry another man! I like girls! I think they're good looking, smell great and I can have children with them the way God intended. I don't want to be gay. So basically, you're saying that, yes, I would have the same right to marry another dude. But I don't want to! The very though makes me sick quite honestly. I know the difference between civil and ceremonial marriage, but thanks. .
@Loveschuck87 Ok, so let me put it this way. I don't want to marry a girl. I like boys! I think they're good looking, and I love my boyfriend with all that I am. I have the right to marry a girl, but I don't want to. The very thought makes me sick.
Get it?
You did say that gays would have an extra right, meaning a right you didn't have. You can't twist your way out of that. This is not an extra right. It is an equal right. (See next post)
@Ihopyourpancakes So you want a right that MOST don't care to EVER have! By definition, you want an additional right, I never said, that you would have a right that I don't have. I said you want a right that I never want to have. Are you religious? If so, read in the Bible about Sadam and Gammorah, they were destroyed by God's hand because they were practicing terrible things. Including homosexuality to the extreme. God created Adam and Eve, remember? Not Adam and Steve.
@Loveschuck87 You're saying gays have a right we don't care to have! We want the right to marry who we love, and we don't fall in love with the other sex, effectively taking that right away. I'm not religious, but if I was I wouldnt be Christian, and if I was Christian I would tell you that Sodom and Gamorah was not about homosexuality, but about insulting guests and threatening rape. The Bible says so in later verses. But that doesn't matter anyway, because WE DONT MAKE LAWS BASED ON THE BIBLE.
@Loveschuck87 Care to respond to any of my other points? They're the ones that actually matter since, like I said, "Adam and Steve" isn't even worth wasting time over. I did respond to your other posts. If you can't rebut them, then I think I've made my point.
@Ihopyourpancakes Hahaha, I love how we keep trying to one up each other. Oh, this is fun, but getting boring. So to end our little debate, I'll say this. Read the Bible? Obviously you don't and if you do, you do not understand it. Because it clearly states that...well,,,in modern words, gay ain't God's way. You can justify what you practice only your own minds. Because you know that you simply cannot do so according to the word of God. I hope you one day realize it too.
@Loveschuck87 I've read the Bible many times and studied it extensively. You are the one who obviously has a comprehension problem. I gave arguments that you refuse to acknowledge- why? Because you can't answer them. You're wrong.
I don't care what you think the Bible says. This is a secular nation, and we don't make our laws based on what the bible says. In the end, it doesn't matter what you think about the Bible because it's inadmissible as a reason to deny someone equal protection of law.
@Ihopyourpancakes I have answered all I need to and then some. You simply do not want to accept what I have said as truth. So I am glad you don't care, I care just as little of what you think. Unlike you, I have God on my side. I truly pity you at the last day if you don't correct your ways. You truly do not understand the Bible in the slightest. You certainly do not practice it's teachings.
@Loveschuck87 I don't want to accept the truth? That's because there are very good reasons to doubt what you say is true, and you never responded to them. You think you have God on your side, but so does everybody else. That's the thing about faith-based reasoning: everybody thinks it supports their side, but in the end it can't be proved to support any.
@Ihopyourpancakes The separation of church and state isn't written into law anywhere! It was something that Thomas Jefferson wrote in a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. His clear meaning in that letter was that religions were/are protected from the state, not the other way around. It's not law. It's not in the Constitution or Declaration of Independence.
@Loveschuck87 I'm not even talking about separation of church and state, though your case against that is also sorry and comprised mostly of pundit talking points- hardly a good source of an argument. I'm talking about the fact that we don't legislate faith. I'm talking about the establishment clause. I'm talking about the fact that religious teachings are not acceptable as a defense in a court of law. You can't coerce religious beliefs, especially when they violate equal protection.
@Ihopyourpancakes So what you say holds no validity. Even though it also doesn't entirely support my view either. It ultimately comes down to morals, it's not morally straight/right, therefore it shouldn't be happening. Now, I am done wasting my time with you, we're done!
@Loveschuck87 I don't see any point which you've presented thus far that I haven't answered with sufficient reason to grant my position validity. Ultimately, it doesn't come down to morals, for several reasons. First, you can't (nor do you) force your morality on others by law. Examples of this include alcohol, divorce, and infidelity- all immoral, according to you, but also all legal. Why is this any different? This isnt about morals. If you want to be done, you leave many questions unanswered.
The mormons use their money to pay for temples churches and missionary service. They don't use it as political leverage. I don't know how many of those people are Christians but if they ARE they sure don't practice it. I Just don't understand how people can think it natural to marry or even be with someone of the same gender. But you get to voice your opinion, now that is mine. The difference? Yours is much less civilized.
Mormons are the ones behind prop 8, not with their vote but with all the millions they contributed. How many starving children in the USA could that money have helped? My marriage is not any of their business.
when the mormon church does not respect others freedom of religion and lifestyle then they should not be surprised when their freedom of religion and lifestyle is not respected. the film 'prop 8 the mormon proposition' goes into what the lds church did that was dishonest and exposes excerpts which were leaked from their offices and what they did that was not direct and honest. they legally lost in a court of law because of some things they did and were exposed for. they definitely mislead.
according to mormons the war in heaven was over choice. to 'stand up for morals and values in society' is to fight choices for people. to 'stand up for family values' is to stand against peoples' choices. also many religions are for gay marriage and to stand against their desires and interests is to stand against freedom of religion which mormons talk about in the articles of faith. in mormonism satan stood for morals and values and against choice. he wanted to force them. church stance = satan
Every one they have their own agency in this life, we can't handle them but we can encourage them.. I am one of the LDS member, i can say you can choose what you one in this life, but we can't choose what we want when Our savior Jesus Christ came to this world and reign in each nation. As we live in this world today we must repent and know his commandments. It's same the people doing here, when Jesus Christ live here on earth they persecute him and they hate our savior.
i was woundering why are there so many dis like on this video, then i find out the uploader is a anti-gay hater lol.. Mormons are a bunch of ignorant idiot
Mormons believe we are all God's children and should be treated with respect. That's why the Mormon's don't become violent like we see those in the video doing. I respect the Mormon church for standing up for what they believe in a peaceful manner. We've voted, and Prop 8 is to be kept. That's just how it is.
@Ihopyourpancakes Mormons are hated on by people every day, what are talking about? I have people tell me that I am going to hell for worshiping Joseph Smith, even though they know that's not who we worship. Yet, I don't go to their church house or homes and bang on their doors and yell "SHALME ON YOU, SHAME ON YOU, SHAME ON YOU!!!" So please tell me what the difference is. Gays have all the same rights the rest of us do. They can marry a women, any woman can marry a man.
@Ihopyourpancakes By definition, they aren't demanding equal rights, their demanding extra rights. I can't marry another man, my sister can't marry another woman. So how do we have rights that they don't?
I like how they are protesting and not threatening violence like most anti-gay bigots out there. I believe that untill the LGBT community gets to live a life with equil right that shouldn't have to pay taxes eithor. "No taxation without representation!"
Wow they seem riled up. It must be the whole being denied their rights thing. That has been known to upset people. The Church's involvment in passing this hateful law is what finally made me leave. Now I'm, ashmed to have ever been a member. The smiles don't fool me: I'm not second-class and trying to make sure I'm treated as such isn't nice. Save your smiles for someone who will fall for it.
This is horrible!! They need 2 stop protesting in front of churches. This church just backed what they felt was right. Insted of wasting time by protesting infront of a chrch, they should think of ways 2 get people on there side in a peaceful mannor. Calling every 1 that is not 4 gay marraige a homophob & biggoit, is not heplful at all. Serouslly, start acting like adults & stop name calling like little kids!
America is losing the battle on many fronts,no standards if it feels good it must be right ,this slippery slope we are on what does it mean, well the Islamics have a standard they adhere to,try being gay in Iran, you will be hung, anyway they want the Caliphate ,they have a plan to take over the world ,they are multiplying and Americans are aborting, having 1 or 2 kids, gays are not having kids ,so the Islamic will take over in the end at this rate .
@StoogeWatcher: "Just imagine if those same Mormons had protested against gay rights groups."
-- They did. That was the subject of the new law the Mormons bought. Gay people in California formerly had the same rights of marriage that Mormons had, and the Mormons could not stand that. They protested, and the rights were removed.
@StoogeWatcher additionally, the mormon church is also hated by mainstream far right christians like Focus on the family, they think theyre heretics. why would the mormons choose to side with them instead of the other minority groups on the left? not good political strategy i must say
@MasterMark123 Gays have been declaring war on Christianity for years. The difference is that Christians don't threaten to blow up LGBT centers or disrupt gay rights meetings.
@StoogeWatcher The ONLY Christians who have been assaulted in this case are the thousands of menbers of the over 200 Christian churches that were forced by the Mormons to stop performing same-sex marriages.
How pathetic that a group of cultists can use money to force other religious groups to obey their marriage doctrines. If Mormons fund "Prop 9" next year and force us to obey Mormon baptism doctrines, I wonder if they'll at least let us wash out the baptistry between corpses?
@hanohanonacowboy I've never seen a gay rights group defend Christianity. Liberals are the cults who want to make Christianity a hate crime. Ironically, liberals never seem to have the energy to protest against radical Islam, which kills people for being gay. Muslims and their Liberal apologists want to replace the COnstitution with Sharia Law. And if liberals hate Mormons so much, they should stop worshipping Harry Reid.
@StoogeWatcher The world must be much easier for you to comprehend when you can divide all humanity into groups you like and don't like and make up things about all of them.
"Liberal apologists want to replace the Constitution with Sharia Law"??? Do you actually ever listen to yourself? Mormons and their use of law to enforce their religious practices upon all of society are by far the closest thing in this country to "Sharia Law".
@hanohanonacowboy You Democrats are total hypocrites. You smear Christianity and want to make it a hate crime, yet you defend Islam. You Democrats slander voters for not wanting Sharia Law. I guess Democrats support stoning rape victims, killing gays, and hanging apostates.
-- LOL. Please see my previous comment. What on earth makes you think I'm a Democrat. Again, I suppose just lumping everyone you dislike into one group is far easier for you to do than actually thinking.
BTW, my pastor laughed his ass off when I forwarded him your childish and prideful attempt to speak for all Christians. So did his husband.
@hanohanonacowboy Hey we did.. we came from England hating being forced into anything including religion and set up a government where we could all be free.. odd that the very government has turned that religious freedom into a divide among those who moved over here not exactly understanding what freedom meant and what it costs us. Now everyone screams foul play to everything??? Blame religion? I dont think so.

@cherielynnae LOL. Mormons "came from England hating being forced into anything". That's a laugh. The most famous thing Mormons ever did --from 1846 to 1848--was to leave our country.
Episcopalians and Unitarians DID come here from England, and both denominations gladly welcome same-sex marriage today. Why are their sacraments any of your business? Why do you feel the need to force other churches to obey your dogma? Sister, put a turban on you and no one could telll you apart from the Taliban.
@cherielynnae: "you've lost touch with your American history"
-- LOL. Which part? The part where you claim Mormons came from England seeking religious freedom?
The Mormons' most famous act was to leave our country. Between 1846 and 1848 the trekked west until they got to what was then Mexico. Their purpose was hardly one of "religious freedom". They were seeking to establish a theocracy, much like what Iran has today.
-- The donor lists for both sides of this campaign are a matter of public record. Not one name on either list is from Watts.
But many on the pro-Prop 8 donor list are from Utah, including a great big donation from a an organization whose address is in a really tall building at 50 East North Temple St. in SLC, with a great view of a gold angel blowing a trumpet. Three guesses what this organization's name is--last two don't count.
Homosexual activists 21st century Nazis. They use Nazi-style tactics to intimidate, threaten, abuse, slander, assault and silence anyone who dares to oppose them. This is not about "rights" or "equality," but about a tiny minority group of self-serving sexual deviants and haters who want to push their filthy lifestyle into every facet of society. They are mean-spirited, nastly, abusive, threatening and utterly depraved. They will receive their reward in full one day: Revelation 21:8
@MasterMark123 -" I find YOUR mental illness to be quite humorous !"
The PROVE to me that queers have not and still do not use violence, threats, intimidation and judicial acitivism to have their "lifestyle" pushed into every facet of society.
@MamaMario13 Individual Baptists, Catholics and Mormons voted on BOTH sides of Prop 8. But no Baptist church and no Catholic church supported Prop 8 AS A CHURCH, like the LDS Church did.
The Roman Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Association gave ZERO dollars to Prop 8. The ONLY denomination in the country to give tax-exempt Church money was the LDS Church.
Why should anyone protest outside one of those other churches? The churches themselves did nothing.
@hanohanonacowboy again,. your listening to media propaganda.. the LDS church gave no money to Prop 8 Individuals from the LDS church gave no money to Prop 8. any people including LDS chose to give money to an organization which is not an LDS company... called Protect marriage.com, a legal organization to defend the constitution and protect marriage. get your facts straight.
-- And you're apparently only tuned in to the LDS Newsroom.
The Church's "Major Donor Campaign Statement"--Form 461-- is on file with our California Secretary of State if you care to look, signed by General Counsel Boyd Black. It reports the amount of tax-exempt funds--money that other churches use to help the needy--they used to play politice. They filed it AFTER the election, so no voters could know who was really behind this political campaign.
@cherielynnae Oh-- and this immoral use that the good Apostles made of your tithings? It got your Church added to the list of Churches that have been fined by the state for breaking our election law over the 161 years of California history.
@StoogeWatcher gays are not like other minorities (eg: muslims) who will press hate crimes charges against u for saying something they disagree with. we dont really care, u can go preach on the street about how gays r evil and will burn in hell and most people will just walk past and laugh at how pathetic u r.
I admit I would not advise protesting outside a church because it is a private institution, but these people just lost some of their legal rights and are upset so give them a break
@MamaMario13: "... press hate crimes charges against u for saying something they disagree with"
- No one can press such charges because there is no such law in this country and never has been. "Hate speech" laws are a right-wing myth.
"Hate crimes" are just that: CRIMES that are already illegal. The hate makes them worse.
If you beat up a rabbi and yell "Kill the Jews" while you do it, he "hate" part will get you a stiffer sentence, just the same as carrying a weapon during the act would do.
@StoogeWatcher: " It happens in other countries like Canada"
-- Lots of bad things happen in other countries, Stooge. You really need to buy a newspaper and have a look sometime.
Meanwhile, this discussion is about a law that was enacted in the United States, paid for by a group of religious extremists very much like those Islamic extremists in some of those other countries, who beat women for not dressing in a way they think is "ordained of God".
@herminio1992 This Prop 8 campaign took place before you were old enough to vote. Have you considered the possibility that it's you who does not understand?
In 2008 same-sex couples had the legal right to marry in CA. The LDS Church organized and paid for the majority of a campaign to remove that right from them, and to tell other churches, including mine, that we had to stop performing legal marriages for these couples and instead obey Mormon doctrine.
@StoogeWatcher And a Democrat, Pat Brown, was also Governor in 1963. Thats the year Californians voted for Prop 14 by an even wider margin than 2000's Prop 22, permitting landlords to refuse to rent to "colored" tenants.
And Prop 14 was found to be unconstitutional by our courts, just like Prop 22.
The vile vitriol by the posters in response to this video speaks volumes about the character of the people who make this "vocal minority" (as shown by the outcome of the vote). Let's hope it's merely a sampling of the worst of humanity rather than a representation of humanity in general. Latter-day saints are good and decent people, the foul-mouthed hypocrites who defame and harrass them are not.
Shame on you, LDS church and especially you, cameraman, you hypocritical cowardly little mormon bitch. You're going to hell, along with your fellow hypocrites.
@activejames That was the absolute dumbest thing I have read in my life! You must be some low life scumbag that sits at there PC all day and let's a Computer screeen protect you! Well I got another thing coming for ya! You are just going to realize Who's right and whos wrong in the final judgement by our lord our god. I will pray for you! :)
@DAL2282 LOL. Another bigot with no real knowledge of religion, using God's name to excuse his prejudice. When exactly did the "Lord your God" tell you to force your religious rules upon your neighbors who do not share your faith?
Religious extremists are dangerous enough, as the Mormon anti-marriage campaign and the fallen World Trade Center will illustrate. But sadder still are ignorant fools like you who just use God as something to hide behind while you lob stones at your neighbors.
whatever you say man. you're right about one thing.....you will all see on judgement day who's right and who's wrong, and see that God put us here for a reason.
I would have to question your intelligence dude. I use my brain, something that you don't. You let the LDS tell you how to live your life and it's sad that you are to stupid to realize that the words you say are hurting Gay teens and shame on you.
@JackNimble61 I'm glad to know you think I don't use my brain and I don't give a rats ass what you or the LDS has to say. If you are once again to stupid to realize that the truth is staring you right in the face but you are to stupid to see it, well then be a stepford Mormon. You never answered my question. Did you look up Bruce Barton and see what the LDS did to him? Another fact that is staring you in the face but with you being a stepford Mormon, I can see why you can't see it and it's sad..
@JPRamon68 You obviously DO care what they have to say or you wouldn't here whining. Bruce Barton doesn't have anything to do with this and If you want to get real about that, Bruce Barton is in charge of his own life and since I doubt the LDS church kidnapped him and forced him to do that, that is his own decision and his alone to answer for. But why am I talking to you about personal accountability? You don't believe a person has control over their own body.
@JackNimble61 Well, your correct on that issue, I care for every gay person out there supporting their right to live there life they way they want to live it and I don't appreciate you Mormons throwing your beliefs down other people throat. As for me whining...NOT! You are just to ignorant to see the truth and has for Bruce Barton, this has everything to do with Bruce Barton plus everyone who has lost their life and every life that as been screwed up due to the LDS.
@JackNimble61 It's really sad that you don't even have a clue about your own religion. Tell me, did you even get my meaning with Bruce or are you to ignorant to see it. Let see, let's put Electrodes on your Penis and see how you like it. Dude, do you even read your own words, Let see, I'm a non Mormon so that tells me that I have total control of my own body.. I don't have the LDS telling me, what to say, eat, drink, wear, and who I can love... I believe you are the one that needs to get control
6. LDS individuals donated money to keep the definition of marriage the same as it's always been.
The examples you provided are not doctrinal examples and doctrinal characteristics are about the religion. Your examples were about external issues and even then you're incorrect in your thinking. You're placing blame on the standard rather than the individual. Your "Groupthink mentality" is a big problem. Individuals make decisions.
@JackNimble61 Jack, how dumb founded ignorant are you..
1. Yes The LDS is at fault when the LDS compares Gay to capitol murder and when the LDS (Boyd Packer) tells everyone that you can change, bullshit, you mormons are so F' ignorant that you can't comprend that you are born with your sexuality.
2. The therapy was done on Gay LDS members and in any case, you don't do that to people, damn where in the hell is your humanity?
3. It is not inapprpriate behavior, it's really sad that you call love inappropiate and you better tell all the straight couple not to hond hands or kiss, they might get arrested (You blow me away how dumb you are)
4. Get real, it's over a Calendar, BYU is a joke and so is the LDS.
5.Dude, look it up, he is a friend of mine that lost his job so don't tell me this shit just because you are to ignorant to learn and use your brain.
@JPRamon68 I have humanity and you embrace carnality. You have some very serious issues that cause you to lash out at people that you only perceive as your problem when, in fact, YOU are the problem. You may one day accept responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others for your own short-comings. We'll just have to see, won't we? I will pray that God opens your eyes and heart.
@JackNimble61: "The LDS church is not responsible for teen suicide."
-- LOL. Official doctrine for gay Mormon kids offers them this advice:
"You are afflicted with "same-gender attraction", much like someone afflicted with kleptomania. If you resist it, never marry, never have children, and keep your covenants-- then when you die you can ask Heavenly Father to give you a new and perfect (i.e. heterosexual) body and then be eternally happy."
@JackNimble61 Nope. Not lying. Officially or otherwise. Just repeating the loving sentiments expressed by dear Elder Oaks. He speaks with the voice of one who is in authority to receive revelation, so his words MUST be true.
Wanna hear what the old guy has to say about white salamanders?
@hanohanonacowboy So you purposefully distort the words of prophets (or anyone else for that matter). What an outstanding character reference that says about you. Elder Oaks is far more intelligent than you will ever be in your life.
@JackNimble61 It's time to wake up and educate yourself on your own religion and I don't give a rats ASS what you Mormons say.. Throw in the Bunch, why don't you look up Evergreen and see what your Religion does to people. It blows me away that you Mormons don't even have a clue what your religion does.
@JPRamon68 It appears you've made secularism your religion because that is all you've presented... Secular views. You haven't brought up the actual religion part of the religion.
@JackNimble61 NOT! What I have presented to you are facts but you are to ignorant, BTW please look up ignorant because I think you are having a hard time understand the word. to look it up and face the facts. Everything I have present to you can be found on the internet. I'm so proud that I use my brain, something that God gave us all but some don't want to use because some really believe that Thomas Monson and the twelve apostles are in direct contact with god.. I believe in Santa to, get real
@JPRamon68 I have friends who are gay and lesbian. I don't hate them at all. FYI, the church doesn't tell us how to live our lives. I choose to drink a mountain dew every day, and no one at church looks at me as though I've got the plague. It's a choice that is ours to make. If we choose something that is contrary to the standards of the church, we must suffer the consequence.
seriously people should get a life. I don't give a shit of what people think. I don't care about your religion, your fake gods, your opinions and the rest ! I live my life without the pression of others people.
Being religious on the issue of prop. 8 isn't necessarily a form of bigotry as some people are always perceiving it as.
btw, if this is correct. Would it be considered a hate crime if you physically assaulted a gay person, but would it still be seen as a hate crime if it were the opposite?
@expertstrategy why you hate gay ? go back to pray in your useless church...btw you should try gay sex for the fun it's really great ! far better than with a women believe me :) I tried both I like both but it's not the same pleasure.
big cock are better than vagina !!!! ;))) i would very much like to engage in romantic activities with you to and look forward to our first intercourse with a sense of mounting excitement. after that you will never hate gay anymore.
@matsumotoyon, I never said I hate gays. It's below me to hate people because they're different, and it's not right. I think that since you believe that having intercourse with another guy is the better sex, then it is better according to you.
Thank you for your offer, but I hugely prefer women.
You actually had sex with a woman even though you prefer someone who is of the same gender?
@exp yes it's call bisexuality...of course I wrote that in order to to provoke you.
I respect you view, you prefer girls, but don't judge me, because I'm like that. if you want to hate others people do that to the pedophile who want to have sex with innocent children and the pervert who rape women. your mormon community can hate those people. it cuz ppl like you that we must hide our feelings...
I don't knew if you are able to situate this little country in Europe but greetings from Denmark.
@matsumotoyon, oh, you're from Denmark, that's cool. In fact, my last name is Danish. I don't judge gay people for what they are, because I was taught that judging solely by appearance is not right, and that includes on what they do. If you want to have sex with another guy, then that's fine with me. I don't think you're a bad person because of that, because I'm quite positive you have a good heart.
@matsumotoyon, You don't have to hide who you are in the presence of Mormons. We have unconditional love for everybody, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, etc...My sister has a gay friend. I would like to meet you one day and know you more.
Our role in Proposition 8 isn't necessarily anti-gay. We just simply don't approve of same-sex marriage. We only dislike the idea of gay marriage, but we don't judge people.
@expertstrategy: "We just simply don't approve of same-sex marriage."
-- Then for Heaven's sake don't marry someone of the same sex. But why do you think you have the right or the calling to tell other people who they can and cannot choose to marry?
@hanohanonacowboy i been having an argument with this expertstrategy person who thinks its okay to discriminate against GBLTQ people. im sorry i got you caught up in it.
Here is your Republic, do with it what you will....

Loveschuck87 3 months ago
@Loveschuck87 We don't allow discrimination to be instituted into law just because some people "simply disapprove" or feel like it "doesn't look or feel natural."
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes gays and lesbians have exactly the same rights as anyone else in America. They can choose to marry the way it's been done for thousands of years, or they can choose something that doesn't allow them to marry. Because in the Bible, marriage is described as being between a man and a woman. Pure and simple. Don't like it? Okay, you're entitled to your opinion. But let me ask you this. If it is natural, why can't you reproduce naturally?
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 No, that isn't equal because the same argument could justify banning interracial marriages- one has racial criteria, the other has gender criteria (right to privacy, anyone?). No, we don't make laws based on the Bible. No, marriage is not the same as it has been for thousands of years, thank god. Lastly, the ability to reproduce has no bearing on whether being gay is natural, nor does its being natural have any bearing on whether they are afforded equality under the law.
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes You're avoiding the facts. I mean come on. Not being able to reproduce doesn't mean that it's not natural? That's not reality! And interracial marriage not being natural is a really stupid argument to make. Look, why don't we just admit the facts before I waste anymore of your or my time?...
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 I didn't say that interracial marriages were unnatural or anything even similar to that. Maybe you should reread my argument until you understand it, because you've got it all wrong. As for gays being unnatural- please explain what you mean. What is considered "natural" and what does it have to do with the ability to reproduce? In addition to that, what does the naturalness of it have to do with the protection of law?
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes The point is, if you're really thanking God that marriage is not the way it has been for thousands of years, which I disagree with by the way. Then you're simply saying that God has altered his Biblican doctrine to suit your personal tendencies. You're not asking for equal anything. You can do the exact same things that I can do! You can marry a man if you're a woman, or a woman if you're a man!
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 Oh, dear. No, marriage has been redefined many times, and for good reason. Quite recently in history it was redefined to no longer be a property transaction between the Groom and the Bride's father. In the Bible, several other marriages were considered acceptable- forced marriages to women captured in wars or slaves, marriages between multiple women and a man, marriages to rape victims, etc. History does not support your view of marriage in the slightest.
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes You're asking pure a simple for additional rights that I do not have nor care to. So you want more rights than the rest of us Americans. I know you're not going to believe a word I've said, because you've convinced yourself that the Mormons are in the wrong all because they don't approve of degrading the sanctity marriage. I am choosing to marry a beautiful young lady, because I am a man.
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 Additional rights? That's absurd, by your own logic. If gays were granted the right to marry, then straight people would have the same right to marry someone of the same sex if they wished. No extra rights. You'd have the same right to marry a man as I would.
How does two men getting a legal contract of partnership (a marriage license) degrade the spiritual aspects of your marriage in any way? Civil marriage is different from ceremonial marriage, FYI. And, sanctity is subjective.
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes Okay, let me put it this way. I don't want to marry another man! I like girls! I think they're good looking, smell great and I can have children with them the way God intended. I don't want to be gay. So basically, you're saying that, yes, I would have the same right to marry another dude. But I don't want to! The very though makes me sick quite honestly. I know the difference between civil and ceremonial marriage, but thanks. .
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 Ok, so let me put it this way. I don't want to marry a girl. I like boys! I think they're good looking, and I love my boyfriend with all that I am. I have the right to marry a girl, but I don't want to. The very thought makes me sick.
Get it?
You did say that gays would have an extra right, meaning a right you didn't have. You can't twist your way out of that. This is not an extra right. It is an equal right. (See next post)
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes So you want a right that MOST don't care to EVER have! By definition, you want an additional right, I never said, that you would have a right that I don't have. I said you want a right that I never want to have. Are you religious? If so, read in the Bible about Sadam and Gammorah, they were destroyed by God's hand because they were practicing terrible things. Including homosexuality to the extreme. God created Adam and Eve, remember? Not Adam and Steve.
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 You're saying gays have a right we don't care to have! We want the right to marry who we love, and we don't fall in love with the other sex, effectively taking that right away. I'm not religious, but if I was I wouldnt be Christian, and if I was Christian I would tell you that Sodom and Gamorah was not about homosexuality, but about insulting guests and threatening rape. The Bible says so in later verses. But that doesn't matter anyway, because WE DONT MAKE LAWS BASED ON THE BIBLE.
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 And BTW, the "Adam and Steve" thing is a joke, not an argument.
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes To you it is. To me it's both. It's whatever it needs to be. The point is very much in tact.
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 Care to respond to any of my other points? They're the ones that actually matter since, like I said, "Adam and Steve" isn't even worth wasting time over. I did respond to your other posts. If you can't rebut them, then I think I've made my point.
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes Hahaha, I love how we keep trying to one up each other. Oh, this is fun, but getting boring. So to end our little debate, I'll say this. Read the Bible? Obviously you don't and if you do, you do not understand it. Because it clearly states that...well,,,in modern words, gay ain't God's way. You can justify what you practice only your own minds. Because you know that you simply cannot do so according to the word of God. I hope you one day realize it too.
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 I've read the Bible many times and studied it extensively. You are the one who obviously has a comprehension problem. I gave arguments that you refuse to acknowledge- why? Because you can't answer them. You're wrong.
I don't care what you think the Bible says. This is a secular nation, and we don't make our laws based on what the bible says. In the end, it doesn't matter what you think about the Bible because it's inadmissible as a reason to deny someone equal protection of law.
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes I have answered all I need to and then some. You simply do not want to accept what I have said as truth. So I am glad you don't care, I care just as little of what you think. Unlike you, I have God on my side. I truly pity you at the last day if you don't correct your ways. You truly do not understand the Bible in the slightest. You certainly do not practice it's teachings.
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 I don't want to accept the truth? That's because there are very good reasons to doubt what you say is true, and you never responded to them. You think you have God on your side, but so does everybody else. That's the thing about faith-based reasoning: everybody thinks it supports their side, but in the end it can't be proved to support any.
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes The separation of church and state isn't written into law anywhere! It was something that Thomas Jefferson wrote in a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. His clear meaning in that letter was that religions were/are protected from the state, not the other way around. It's not law. It's not in the Constitution or Declaration of Independence.
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 I'm not even talking about separation of church and state, though your case against that is also sorry and comprised mostly of pundit talking points- hardly a good source of an argument. I'm talking about the fact that we don't legislate faith. I'm talking about the establishment clause. I'm talking about the fact that religious teachings are not acceptable as a defense in a court of law. You can't coerce religious beliefs, especially when they violate equal protection.
Ihopyourpancakes 1 month ago
@Ihopyourpancakes So what you say holds no validity. Even though it also doesn't entirely support my view either. It ultimately comes down to morals, it's not morally straight/right, therefore it shouldn't be happening. Now, I am done wasting my time with you, we're done!
Loveschuck87 1 month ago
@Loveschuck87 I don't see any point which you've presented thus far that I haven't answered with sufficient reason to grant my position validity. Ultimately, it doesn't come down to morals, for several reasons. First, you can't (nor do you) force your morality on others by law. Examples of this include alcohol, divorce, and infidelity- all immoral, according to you, but also all legal. Why is this any different? This isnt about morals. If you want to be done, you leave many questions unanswered.

soulfuljourney 4 months ago
according to mormons the war in heaven was over choice. to 'stand up for morals and values in society' is to fight choices for people. to 'stand up for family values' is to stand against peoples' choices. also many religions are for gay marriage and to stand against their desires and interests is to stand against freedom of religion which mormons talk about in the articles of faith. in mormonism satan stood for morals and values and against choice. he wanted to force them. church stance = satan

Every one they have their own agency in this life, we can't handle them but we can encourage them.. I am one of the LDS member, i can say you can choose what you one in this life, but we can't choose what we want when Our savior Jesus Christ came to this world and reign in each nation.

"Liberal apologists want to replace the Constitution with Sharia Law"??? Do you actually ever listen to yourself? Mormons and their use of law to enforce their religious practices upon all of society are by far the closest thing in this country to "Sharia Law".
hanohanonacowboy 7 months ago
@hanohanonacowboy You Democrats are total hypocrites. You smear Christianity and want to make it a hate crime, yet you defend Islam. You Democrats slander voters for not wanting Sharia Law. I guess Democrats support stoning rape victims, killing gays, and hanging apostates.

@StoogeWatcher: "You Democrats are total hypocrites."

Apparently they are still trying.
hanohanonacowboy 7 months ago
@cherielynnae: "dare you say all this in Watts"

They will receive their reward in full one day: Revelation 21:8

they should have protested outside a baptist or catholic church
MamaMario13 7 months ago
@MamaMario13 Individual Baptists, Catholics and Mormons voted on BOTH sides of Prop 8. But no Baptist church and no Catholic church supported Prop 8 AS A CHURCH, like the LDS Church did.
The Roman Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Association gave ZERO dollars to Prop 8. The ONLY denomination in the country to give tax-exempt Church money was the LDS Church.
Why should anyone protest outside one of those other churches? The churches themselves did nothing.
hanohanonacowboy 7 months ago
@hanohanonacowboy again,. your listening to media propaganda.. the LDS church gave no money to Prop 8 Individuals from the LDS church gave no money to Prop 8. any people including LDS chose to give money to an organization which is not an LDS company... called Protect marriage.com, a legal organization to defend the constitution and protect marriage. get your facts straight.
cherielynnae 7 months ago
@cherielynnae: "listening to media propaganda"
They filed it AFTER the election, so no voters could know who was really behind this political campaign.
hanohanonacowboy 7 months ago
@cherielynnae Oh-- and this immoral use that the good Apostles made of your tithings? It got your Church added to the list of Churches that have been fined by the state for breaking our election law over the 161 years of California history.
By the way, there's only one name on that list.
hanohanonacowboy 7 months ago
@MamaMario13 And yet if I protested outside a gay right meeting, you would have demanded hate crime charges.
StoogeWatcher 7 months ago
@StoogeWatcher gays are not like other minorities (eg: muslims) who will press hate crimes charges against u for saying something they disagree with. we dont really care, u can go preach on the street about how gays r evil and will burn in hell and most people will just walk past and laugh at how pathetic u r.
I admit I would not advise protesting outside a church because it is a private institution, but these people just lost some of their legal rights and are upset so give them a break
MamaMario13 7 months ago
@MamaMario13: "... press hate crimes charges against u for saying something they disagree with"
- No one can press such charges because there is no such law in this country and never has been. "Hate speech" laws are a right-wing myth.
"Hate crimes" are just that: CRIMES that are already illegal. The hate makes them worse.
If you beat up a rabbi and yell "Kill the Jews" while you do it, he "hate" part will get you a stiffer sentence, just the same as carrying a weapon during the act would do.

herminio1992 7 months ago
@herminio1992 This Prop 8 campaign took place before you were old enough to vote. Have you considered the possibility that it's you who does not understand?
In 2008 same-sex couples had the legal right to marry in CA. The LDS Church organized and paid for the majority of a campaign to remove that right from them, and to tell other churches, including mine, that we had to stop performing legal marriages for these couples and instead obey Mormon doctrine.
That's what I "understand", hermino.

@hanohanonacowboy In 2000, Californians voted against gay marriage. That was when a Democrat was governor.
StoogeWatcher 7 months ago

JPRamon68 8 months ago
@JPRamon68 You obviously DO care what they have to say or you wouldn't here whining. Bruce Barton doesn't have anything to do with this and If you want to get real about that, Bruce Barton is in charge of his own life and since I doubt the LDS church kidnapped him and forced him to do that, that is his own decision and his alone to answer for. But why am I talking to you about personal accountability? You don't believe a person has control over their own body.
JackNimble61 8 months ago
@JackNimble61 Well, your correct on that issue, I care for every gay person out there supporting their right to live there life they way they want to live it and I don't appreciate you Mormons throwing your beliefs down other people throat. You are just to ignorant to see the truth and has for Bruce Barton, this has everything to do with Bruce Barton plus everyone who has lost their life and every life that as been screwed up due to the LDS.

I don't have the LDS telling me, what to say, eat, drink, wear, and who I can love... I believe you are the one that needs to get control

JackNimble61 8 months ago
@JackNimble61 Yeah, I'm laughing myself how dumbfounded you are... Why don't you do a little research. Here let me help you out.
1. Utah is 1 for gay teen suicide
2. The LDS performs Electric shock therapy
3. The LDS has a gay couple was arrested over a kiss
4. Chad Hardy couldn't Graduate at BYU over a Calendar
5. A friend of mine lost his job just because he had gay friends. He worked at the LDS Temple.
6. The LDS raised over 40 Million dollars to take rights away from Americans.
JPRamon68 8 months ago
@JPRamon68
1. The LDS church is not responsible for teen suicide. The individual is.
2. That was performed at a time when that type of therapy was done for psychological problems. Blame Pavlov. Voluntary.
3. It was inappropriate behavior on private property and the "couple" did it to taunt the church.
4. Private college with student behavioral code. Fault of the individual.
5. Anecdotal and not verifiable. I seriously doubt it was just because he had gay friends.
6. (cont)
JackNimble61 8 months ago
JackNimble61 8 months ago
@JackNimble61 Jack, how dumb founded ignorant are you..
1. Yes The LDS is at fault when the LDS compares Gay to capitol murder and when the LDS (Boyd Packer) tells everyone that you can change, bullshit, you mormons are so F' ignorant that you can't comprend that you are born with your sexuality.
2. The therapy was done on Gay LDS members and in any case, you don't do that to people, damn where in the hell is your humanity?
JPRamon68 8 months ago
@JackNimble61
You really need to educate yourself
JPRamon68 8 months ago
@JPRamon68 I have humanity and you embrace carnality. You have some very serious issues that cause you to lash out at people that you only perceive as your problem when, in fact, YOU are the problem. You may one day accept responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others for your own short-comings. We'll just have to see, won't we? I will pray that God opens your eyes and heart.
JackNimble61 8 months ago
@JackNimble61: "The LDS church is not responsible for teen suicide."
-- LOL. Official doctrine for gay Mormon kids offers them this advice:
"You are afflicted with "same-gender attraction", much like someone afflicted with kleptomania. If you resist it, never marry, never have children, and keep your covenants-- then when you die you can ask Heavenly Father to give you a new and perfect (i.e. heterosexual) body and then be eternally happy."
In other words, Kids: "hurry up and die".

@JackNimble61 Nope. Not lying. Officially or otherwise. Just repeating the loving sentiments expressed by dear Elder Oaks. He speaks with the voice of one who is in authority to receive revelation, so his words MUST be true.

Being religious on the issue of prop. 8 isn't necessarily a form of bigotry as some people are always perceiving it as.
btw, if this is correct. Would it be considered a hate crime if you physically assaulted a gay person, but would it still be seen as a hate crime if it were the opposite?

@matsumotoyon, I never said I hate gays. It's below me to hate people because they're different, and it's not right. I think that since you believe that having intercourse with another guy is the better sex, then it is better according to you.

I don't knew if you are able to situate this little country in Europe but greetings from Denmark.
matsumotoyon 9 months ago
@matsumotoyon, oh, you're from Denmark, that's cool. In fact, my last name is Danish. I don't judge gay people for what they are, because I was taught that judging solely by appearance is not right, and that includes on what they do. If you want to have sex with another guy, then that's fine with me. I don't think you're a bad person because of that, because I'm quite positive you have a good heart.
