Oh wow I wondered if this existed on youtube and yes here is this tune that has kicked around in my brain for 30 years, i used to watch this as a kid on ABC in Australia! :)
@midlander4 The amount of people I speak to who are the same age as me can't remember this show, but it was an absolute classic, I can't believe anyone could forget Little Blue or The Flumps
Seeing this after all these years makes me want to cry. This song stuck in my head from my childhood days in Jamaica back in the late 1980s. Thank you for posting it.
Another one of those, 'hardly ever remembered by anyone else', children's lunchtime programmes from the 70's, which ironically, sticks in your head for over 30 years!!
I've remembered every part of this damn song my entire life, it's properly embedded in there. I loved it as kid but now I'm slightly furious about it and now I've come here to exorcise this damn demon.
How the hell can I remember this and not my phone number?!
Havent seen this since the early 80's. I have some books from the series as well as books of The Woofits (so I think it was called) with Michael Parkinson narrating.
I loved this cartoon. We used to watch it all the time. I have to show my sister, what a blast from the past. How can she get copies for her kids I wonder
i remember the books but not this cartoon , there was a particulary good one of the books were little blue went skiing and his friend got stuck in the snow and little blue used his elephant strenght to pull him out of the snow
I used kick up a bit of a stink on the odd occasion there was no Matey at bathtime (I'm not proud of it). I thought that if I used it consistently enough over a prolonged period of time I could turn myself blue. Lol! I was only 4 AND this was one of my fav progs back then!!! Thanks for posting - great memories.
The opening song gave me nightmares..............from then on I had a healthy respect for fountain pens.............my mum used to say " dont chew your pen or youll end up like little blue!"
i thought i was the only one on earth who remembered little blue,i have been asking people for over twenty years if they remembered this and have got not one yes.thank god someone does.has anybody got any full cartoons i,d love to see them again and show my kids
My God!! I must have been no more than 6 years old last time I saw this back in the '70's!! What a crazy jazzy funky tune for a Brit cartoon! Thank you so much uploader for the memories
This is the earliest show I remember watching as a very young child, the theme haunted me for years and I only just was told what the show was. I wish this series would get released on DVD, I would buy it in a second!!!! Top show!!!
The first time I heard the word sh-t was at playgroup as one of the hard kids sang "mummy's got a sh-t sh-t now" to the tune of Little Blue. Snorkel parkas, itchy flares and Clarks polyvelts.
I agree with everyone else's comments. Excellent stuff. You've made my day, picturing myself about 7 years old, Heinz tomato soup and watching Little Blue.
oh my god, thankyou sooo much i used to watch that show all the time and havent seen it for years. i love the theme song and have been looking for it in here and till now couldnt find it, thankyou
Great barotone!
If nothing else, it gave me a healthy respect for fountain pens!
The whole thing was a bit sad, a bit tragic actually. I found this cartoon a bit disturbing.
