They're wholly Taiwanese, including the outside songwriters & production crew.

The hardcore gangsta-rap packaging was one of the earlier exploratory attempts at Chinese hip-hop. Obviously didn't work: the video got banned on MTV &, if I'm correct, only one album was released (circa 2003-4) although some of the members remain in showbiz (more mainstream work).

LMF (Hong Kong, disbanded) come most to mind. They were kinda major record-label pioneers in the '90s, towing along similar indie acts & creating a cult community. Taiwan has no genuine gangsta rap (I think) but does have an active underground hip hop scene. Not that familiar with China. Singapore produced one incredible movie (Royston Tan's "15") - banned locally, no soundtrack CD either but can rip the real gangster chant-songs (techno-mixed) audio off Youtube.

Suggest u also explore the checklists on the respective wiki entries, eg. "Taiwanese hip-hop". Copy over the Chinese names when searching (perhaps adding 试听 "test hear") to reach Mainland China sites, which host a lot of stuff online.

Keep in mind these artistes do blend in local musical sensibilities (in varying degrees) & also address native issues more. Overt US copycats don't last or stay credible.
