It sounds like Dan Used a Capo at the third Position but it looks like an Open Position E But it Sounds In G Major Please enlighten me some one. Anyway the song is beauty
I remember this song from when I was a little kid and till this day it still brings tears to my eyes there was a purity to music back then I don't remember how old I was specifically when I heard this song but at a young age I understood the emotion that went into writing this song... Nowadays music is a quick fix to get you out of a mood or what not but happened to the music that really made you feel something deep inside?
@geiadude Absolutely! The Mrs and I will celebrate our 20th Anniversary on February 14th. (Yep, we married on Valentine's Day.) 2 lovely daughters, a nice home, jobs that don't pay much but are very rewarding, (I'm a teacher, she manages a Senior Citizen's Center) we are truly blessed.
i love what he does at 2:36 and the harmony kicks in majic!!!!!!gave me fuckin goosebumps!!!!!his fingerstyle is top notch along with his voice along with the lady doing harmony BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dan Fogelberg's voice gives me goosebumps. He was a wonderful singer and even better songwriter! We were so blessed to have his voice recorded for posterity!
Here it is 30 years later and I am looking for Dan Fogelberg videos on the internet, amazing how technology has allowed us to pay tribute to past legends
This is my all time favorite song. It tells of eternal love beyond time and place. It is so ethereal and the way he wrote it is perfect. I resented Simon for bashing this song on American Idol. I also just covered this song recently. Rest in peace, Dan Fogelberg. You made the world better, and your music and legacy will live on.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
whats happened to music ......whats happend to the songs that actually spoke to you...provoked thought...sparked memories........brings a tear to my eye......thanks Dan for singing my life .....
found this "LONGER" word written in my old Nokia 7610 mobile...I knew there's something behind to this word so i search for it ... and WAHLA!...got it....!
..All i can say 4 u sir dan..u're d best among the rest..Although u're gone bt still u're good song and the memories u left us will always remain us here in our hearts...May ur soul rest in peace..
This is one of the most achingly beautiful songs of all time. Lyrically and melodically it's stunning. The lushness of the strings is not to heavy handed and the emotional impact is just amazing. Moves me to tears every time I hear it.
Dan was on Regis and Kathy Lee once and when she mentioned this song he said although it was well known, he didn't think it was nearly as good as some of the others he'd written. I think maybe that's why he didn't perform it live very often. Maybe he thought it would stereotype him as a singer of mellow sentimental songs like this, when all along he was capable of much harder "rock" type music. Whatever his feelings were, this song remains an all time classic!
This is without doubt as great a love song as has ever been written. I saw Dan Fogelberg perform live on two occasions and was very disappointed that this song was not included.
Love this song and was really disappointed when Dan didn't sing it in concert when I saw him. I heard him say that he didn't really think the song was all that great. I thought maybe since he and his wife split up he might now have wanted to relive his past feelings ever night.
this is one example of a person that can duplicate live what he did in the studio!you dont hear people today that can do this...bless you dan,we love you!!!
I could still remember the first time i saw this video i was 13 or 14 years old. I never thought i could watch this again. The song has been embedded and deeply rooted in my heart and how i wish i was the one who wrote this song. Musically its perfect. Dan Fogelberg is such a genius. Thank you Dan, thank you very much. Only a pure heart can write such a pure song and I envy you for that. God bless you wherever you may be. Your music will stay in my heart as long as I live...
Never seen this cat perform before, did'nt even know his name until a day ago, but boy, this song has haunted me for ever. A higher expression of love for another human being has never been uttered. R.I.P Dan, you prepared the path for a lot of us.
One of the most beautiful love songs Dan shared with us. Thank you, Dan, for all you created, performed, recorded, shared. You are missed, but will always live on in my heart in your music. Indeed one of my favorites. Just Perfect....
hello sir that song is very meaningful i love it, the way how you composed a song is genius to me,well even youre gone now we still feel that yure around and rendering us beautiful and lovely songs.. U R our IDOL sir...
Truly one of the best, if not The Best, beautiful love songs ever by Dan. He sings of a love from beginning to end. "...through the years as the pages start to yellow....." That says it all....
It often seemed like one time you saw Dan, he had a beard, and the next time, he was clean-shaven. It was almost like a pattern throughout his career. But, all that really matters is his music, and he sure was great at that!
I've been totally blown away by the lyrics and his expression through his music, he certainly one of the legendary living artists of our human generation.
