You may call it Socialized Health care but then again, our education system must be socialist, and then again, our Police and Fire Departments must be socialist. What to these people is so wrong about universal healthcare. It has proven to be better by countries like those in the E.U.
All of the negative things associated with Universal Healthcare are myths and have been proven false which is why only 400 people showed up. If it was for the h.c. 1000's would have been there.
Yes, I totally agree. Our educational system is totally socialized -or shall I say, federalized. Which is why our system ranks near the bottom worldwide. On the other hand, our police and fire are LOCAL. They are accountible to us, and there is competition between separate entities which keeps them honest & efficient.
Federalizing social programs destroys competition & the fabric of individual rights and responsibilities. Not to mention the 10th amendment...
I see your point and respect it. I personally think that everyone should have access whether they can afford it or not. That includes people who make to much money for medicare, and other government health insurance programs. I think that a government sponsored insurance should be optional but always an option. As far as are schools, many problems revolve around teachers teaching outside their subject areas b/c of a lack of teachers, and students who are unwilling to learn.
The reason our educational system ranks at the bottom is because our spending per pupil is at the bottom. On health care however we spend twice as much, but the corporations deliver a product which ranks right down at the bottom.
Isn't it just amazing? King5 (Northwest Cable News) mentioned the 'rally for single-payer healthcare' but not a single word, not a mention, that anybody else was there who had a different opinion.
Pay attention who is on one side of the street an whos on the other side of the street!!
