  • Your video states that it is capable of blocking green (532nm) and blue (453nm) lasers. Does this mean that my 405nm Violet/Blue laser will be unaffected and cause me harm?

  • @7d3adlys1ns No it does not mean that. These glasses will block light from 190nm to 540nm with an OD of at least 3 which is very good. Your 405nm is in that range so the glasses would protect you from harm.

  • i ordered a pair witch look the same on amazon there called teeth whitening laser glasses will they work the same thanks

  • @m4n52k10 Hard to say. Check the OD (optical density) of those glasses and make sure they wavelength/color they provide protection against matches your laser.

  • does it matter what kind you get? can you find me the cheapest for a 150mw green laser?

  • Comment removed

  • @Thesportyspike Definitely not. Sunglasses, mirrored of otherwise, are worse than useless.

  • One VERY important thing you have to add: Especially the common green lasers are dpss lasers, that means, that there is a infrared beam beeing PARTIALLY frequency doubled to green light. The glasses only block the green part, the leftover Infrared if not filtered out will go right through the glasses and demage your eyes like if you werent wearing glasses at all !

  • Hi! Are a regular sunglasses with UV block safe to use with 100mW 405nm laser?

    Thanks.

  • @0805Alan lol no way. buy proper goggles for it

  • can i use your goggles which cost 24 dollars to be protected from the spartan 1w?

  • is it normal and safe for some of the light to pass through the glasses? because my safety goggles let through light still.

  • 0:29

    Much went trou

  • @swedensy They are designed to allow a low safe level of light through.

  • @dragonlasers That laser isnt low lvl light...

  • @dragonlasers actually theyre made to block it completely. The light you see whit the glasses on is the material luminescence not the laser

  • How many times do u need to say these laser safety glasses, we know what they are.

  • @mikemcguire08

When you're using a >10mW laser for anything other than pointing outside in the distance. Goggles are especially important if you're burning things with the laser

  • Hi, I have recently bought a 30mw green laser and im still not quite sure what i can and cant do apart from shining it in the eyes. Is it even safe to look at the dot from say 3 meters away? And if not, would 20 or 10mw be? Thanks.

  • @HawK047 Any laser with more than 10mW (some people say 5mW) can cause serious and permanent damage to your eyes at close wange.

  • Could the blue powerfull one you have burn my eye off?

  • @evanroskin

    Absolutely

  • @evanroskin

a direct hit will damage your eyes before you get the chance to blink

  • Do any of these laser goggles in the market protect against IR?

Also since IR is close to red, if a goggle protects against blue and green only, does that mean it cant possibly protect against IR?

  • @sadgreen Plenty of standard glasses protect against IR but none that I know of protect against both green and IR. This is why green lasers with no IR filters are so dangerous.

  • @dragonlasers Thanks for the reply! So the best option in the case of green lasers is to add an IR filter if the laser does not already add one?

  • @sadgreen If possible, yes.

  • @dragonlasers Cool, just bought the item from dragonlasers:

Laser Glasses - UV to Green Lasers Protection 190-548nm

  • @dragonlasers do you have to wear safety glasses while outside at night?

  • @Charlie3352 No because the beam will not be visible which defeats the purpose of most out door laser applications.

You'll also find that most out door applications are safe and don't require safety glasses.

  • @dragonlasers will those glasses protect for when you burn things? like can you look at say a leather wallet with the laser dot on it? (400mW green)

  • @Charlie3352 These glasses will protect you but only for several seconds. You need to keep in mind that safety glasses are designed to protect you from accidents only.

  • Why my originals hilti glasses that come with laser level are red like yours? my hilty laser level works with red beam laser, i think all hilti laser tools works with red laser. That means I'm not protected?

  • @chancho00 Normally glasses that protect against red wave lengths do not protect against green.

Do not use your glasses with green/blue/violet lasers unless you can confirm they do work with these wavelengths.

  • How dangerous is it to expose skin to prolonged periods of time from a 20mw green laser? Also, does IR pose a danger if a 20mw green laser is not pointed directly at the eye, but just past the face? Thanks for your advice.

  • @foodfreedom911 A 20mW laser will not harm your skin.

There is a small possibility that IR from a low quality laser can harm your eyes if a laser is pointed past your face. Once of many reasons why you should not point lasers at people.

  • I am making a 1.5watt 445nm laser and a 120mW 532nm laser will these safety glasses protect me from these lasers. 1.5w is a he'll of a lot of power and I want to be safe with it. Are these safety glasses fine for such high power lasers?

  • @TheSuperhack3r These safety glasses will work but you need to keep in mind that safety glasses are only for protection from accidents where the glasses are exposed to the laser for a maximum of 1-2 seconds.

  • so, what would happen if a 130mw beam hit your eye for just a second? would you just loose vision for a couple minutes, or would you have a serious problem?

  • @YourFantasyForLife At close range, a laser that powerful directly in your eye is likely to cause permanent blindness so you have be ALWAYS careful.

  • where can I get THIS kind of goggles? Dragonlasers only sell different ones with black edges...

  • @FPSBass The black edged glasses with the orange lens are the same type of glasses. The only difference is the frame. They will provide the same level of protection.

  • @dragonlasers but these are much cooler :D

  • thats cool , nice video

  • Comment removed

  • will this also block 445nm light from the 1w spartan?

  • @MaNGLeDSHaDoW yes it will. Those glasses have an OD>3 for 447nm light.

  • wow, you guys just violated several of the laser safety rules

  • Comment removed

  • In Brasil people is making interference to pilots while landing, but to shield from this I guess interferential filters are needed, to avoid colouring the rest of the view.

  • do still sell this style of glasses. i checked your site but didnt see these that you show here in this video?

  • You must chose a Right Color of the Glasses because of Diferent Colors of Lasers.. 532nm green goes with Orange Glasses...Before you buy it Search on Wiki which color of the glasses you must buy for anther Color of Laser..example Blue,Violet,Red,And others !!!

  • @CanijAsa Not that simple. For example our LSG02 model glasses with orange lens block green, blue and UV

  • But isn't the whole point of buying a laser to see the beam? I mean, unless you're burning something, what's the point of the goggles, because you may as well buy a low powered one if that's what you're going to see all the time..

  • @FireHax0rd Many applications such as astronomy do not need safety glasses.

They are basically for indoor applications where there is the risk of reflected beams or accidents.

  • @IndustrialListener Depends on the application and level of risk.

Personally I'll start using safety glasses at 35mW and above.

  • whats the point of owning a high powered laser if you cant see its beautiful beam cuz of safety glasses? :( i mean really what can it be used for other than to burn stuff would i still have to wear glasses if i am aiming it at sky (stars not airplanes, just incase someone tries to be a smart ass lol) or out in the open? (would it reflect off of water if used on the sea? was thinking of that as i go out to sea a lot and i might decide to do that one day for the heck of it :P

  • @Okarkar You would not have to wear safety goggles if you are pointing a high power laser at the sky, nor would you have to wear them if you were pointing it a good distance away from you. You would, however have to wear them if you are burning things up close (matches ect) or shining at reflective surfaces (water does not reflect btw, it refracts meaning the light passes through it and sorta changes). Or you may have to wear them if it reflects off an aeroplane :)

  • 0:21 lol i love the way hes on about how they can damage your eyes and it looks like hes directly shining it in his!

  • lets see how it goes up agianst my 400w green melting hulk laser muahahmahahahahahahahahhahahahahha

  • Is that the stuff that cyclops' glasses are made out of?

  • @Plur307 No. Our lasers would melt his glasses.

  • @Plur307 If scott was real he should be wearing blue glasses because they block red light.

  • do you need difrent glasses to eatch colour ?

  • You normally need one set of glasses for UV/violet/blue/green, another for red and another for infrared

  • @dragonlasers thanks man

  • how did you made the green bean show up.not the point the straight beam like 1:56 th 1:04

  • How many mw was the spartan in this video?

  • From memory, it is a 200mW model

  • Hi, I've just bought a 400mW Blue Spartan laser from your site but I'm unsure because I didn't think that this model existed or was sold by Dragonlasers. I've seen your 1W blue laser but I'm worried that I may have bought the wrong thing.

  • @sillyplug PM sent

  • @sillyplug lol spartan laser

  • which ones should i use for violet? 405nm

  • PM sent

  • can u kill someone with these?

  • @brizzlefizzle Yeah, put the goggles in an air cannon and fire it at someone's head.

  • i meant the laser retard

  • @brizzlefizzle Yeah the same goes for the laser, you have to stick the unit in an air cannon and launch it directly into someone eye at 500 feet per second. :)

  • wow you are a moron

  • @brizzlefizzle I'm not the moron who asked "can you kill someone with these" LOL!

  • HAHAH bleep bleep... bleep bleeep!

  • 1:36 your Cup of Ramen is done Nerd

  • Nerd? You know what Ramen is and I have never heard of it. The irony :)

  • @TubesteakNikka What makes you think he is a nerd??

  • how much mW those glasses can support?

  • i guess almost any until u just burn the plastic up

  • But protetion glasses are like they left 1 out of 50

  • They provide protection against accidental exposure to lasers greater than 1 watt

  • Nice.

  • will laser safty glasses protect against green lasers without IR filter

  • that depends on the glases ur using

  • @frank12444 say these

  • I have the same laser safety goggles. Do you know where I can find the spec sheet for them though? I can't remember what od they are at what wavelengths.

  • If they are from Dragonlasers, the specs are basic and very effective- OD>3 from 190nm to 540nm

  • Thanks, yeah they are the goggles from dealextreme.

  • Dealextreme have reasonable value low quality products but safety equipment is one area where quality is paramount so I'd double check the quality of your glasses.

  • I miss typed, I meant they were from dragonlasers. Don't know why I said dealextreme, I've tried there goggles and they are terrible quality.

  • @dragonlasers

I disagree, I think that DX has great quality.

Maybe some products its low. But most times its awesome quality for the price.

  • So these ARE legal to ship to the US?

  • Basically yes, PM sent

  • what is the lowest strength you reccomend wearing safety glasses with?

  • I would not normally wear safety glasses with powers below 35mW but you also need to take into account what you are doing.

  • طيب يعني كل هالمدة بس عشان يقول النظارة تعزل الليزر ؟؟

  • نصاب يارجال

  • So being red that obviously filters out green light. But what's dangerous about laser pointers is also the infra red light. Those glasses aren't going to help you not go blind.

    Are you with me guys?

  • Exactly. That is why you should buy decent quality lasers with IR filters

  • on dragon lasers i cant find these safety glasses do they still sell this models?

  • There is a new model glasses for green lasers, model LSG02 on dragonlasers . com

  • i just bought two lasers, not from dragonlasers, one green 50 mW and one red 200 mW. What glasses do i need?

  • You need two separate sets of glasses.

One for green at 532nm and the other for red (depending on which red) at 650nm

  • Comment removed

  • I am deffinitly buying a pair of these!

  • You can find newer models on our website at w w w dragonlasers com

  • Does the infrared light go through ski goggles? Will it damage your eyes? Because mine say 100% infrared protection

  • When will you be restocking these orange colored laser safety glasses?

  • We will not be. The newer models are more effective and cheaper.

  • 1:35

    ur hot pocket is ready

  • Dang, is there any stores that sell them, so I don't have to order them

  • The easiest and cheapest way is to order online.

You can check our laser safety glasses at w w w dragonlasers com

  • Do lasers go through ski goggles?

  • Yes

  • wot is a wave lengf

  • OD>3.5 for 190-500nm, OD>3 for 500-540nm

  • Since you won't understand all it means to you is it's the color.

  • 1 new message

  • Does this offer protection from a 200mW red laser?

  • what does nm stand for?and what does it mean?

  • nanometers. It is a unit for measuring the wavelength/color of the laser beam.

  • does anybody know where i can get really really cheap laser safety glasses?and also do you always have to wear laser safety glasses when using a burning laser?

  • From Dragonlasers at w w w dragonlasers com

  • I tried to see if the red eye in 3d glasses worked on my 15mw laser, it worked, until it melted where I shined it at it.

  • i have a laserglow laser n nova lasers safety shield professional goggles look the same as urs do u think i should get them

  • can i use a welding goggle?

  • No.

The only glasses you can use are those designed to block the wavelength of the laser you are using.

  • whats a wavelegnth

  • the Nm(nano meter).......the funky numbers they .....number the different colours of the visible spectrum.....or the non-visible......

  • why is laserglows much more expensive?

  • They are a retailer not manufacturer

  • tring tring mail mother fucker :))))

  • Comment removed

  • They are designed to allow a small amount of green light through so the laser point is visible.

As for optical density, they have an OD of >3

  • why are you whispering/talking really quiet?

  • cuzz he dont wanna disturb his 21 babys

  • No such thing as 100% protection.

Want to be safe? don't play with this risky shit that is of no use.

  • A good point about the 100% protection.

As for risk, if used properly with the correct protective equipment, lasers are not risky. There are numerous uses for lasers that justify their use.

  • can a 50 mw hulk laser pop balloons or anything else, does it have a visible beam in day light, and how far does it go?

  • A 50mW Hulk does not have burning ability, it does have a visible beam during the day and it would have a range of at least 1-2 kilometers.

  • uh im curious does a aries-35 65mw do anything i kn0 it can pop balloons and see it in the daytime and is there a way to make a really good laser safety goggles and if so how?

  • No. Safety glasses use specially designed polymers to block light in set wavelengths.

With out this polymer, you can't make effective safety glasses.

  • great for raves

  • can these high powered lasers burn u and your house to the ground?

  • Hey, im buying a true 100mw from deal extreme and im just gonna be burning stuff and popping balloons... but if i should accidentally shine it in my eyes without goggles, what should i do?

  • If you accidentally shine a 100mW laser into your eyes with out safety glasses, you'll most likely end up with serious and permanent damage to your eyes. So I recommend safety glasses

  • Ha too expensive... but i mean like if/when i shine the laser into my eyes, what actions should i do first?

  • Pray that the other eye is ok.

  • Lol

  • why is it soooo expensive?! you know lik most people i dont have alot of money to buy the hulk...i mean i could

but its just a waste of $650 and shipping $18. and thats a total of $668

i just pray that you guys would lower your prices to an affordable price i mean if you want lots of people to buy your lasers id lower the price.

  • what the hell r those made of because wen u put infront of the camera it made the laser look as if it wasnt even turned on

  • They are made with polymer and special dyes.

  • dragonlasers are a rip

  • so what if i get a true 50mw laser from deal extreme and never shine it at my eyes just shine it at things like the wall and sometimes try to burn stuff will it damage my eyes?

  • That would be safe but the main danger is from unexpected accidents which is why you need to be always careful

  • hey, i bought a true 50mw laser at DX. do you think i need glasses?

  • Depends on how you use it. Normally glasses are good to have at that power level.

  • lol

i checked out the link and there a bit expensive

  • Hey, You have SMS !!, could be the love of your life !

  • he speak like a emo llllooooooollll

  • I am building a 100mw Blu ray laser and I was wanting to purchase these but will they protect against blu ray?

  • These glasses have an OD of >3 for 405nm so yes.

  • Oh whats that 30 seconds in to the vid !!!! Looks like a laser beam going right through the lens of the goggles to me !!! How do you explain that pal !!

  • The glasses are not designed to block all blue/green light.

For example if you point a 100mW green laser at the glasses, you'll have several mW of power that gets through which is well within safe limits.

Letting some light pass allows you to see the laser beam point which is necessary for some applications.

  • Several reasons

-the beams are broken up and weaker

    -the beams are moving

-the lasers have built in safety features

The use of lasers in night clubs is strict and a Maximum Permissabe Exposure (MPE) is used to make sure they are safe.

  • 2 meters is very close range for a laser so even for less than a second, the eyes can be seriously injured.

If there is any chance of getting hit in the eye by a laser, use laser safety glasses.

  • it would burn the overhead display. XD
