Actually there are plenty of tanks and healers in SWTOR because playing those roles are actually FUN. Not to mention 8/16 man raids only need 1 main tank and a dps who can off tank sometimes. Tanks are screwed when it comes to end game.

LOL so true. I was an assassin dps and its hard to find a PUB HMs so I had to reroll Sorc and now i can find a group right away lol.

SWTOR followed WoW too much with the Trinity.

That's why SWTOR won't hold people long...Trinity system is dead.

GW2 is going to change the genre...no tanks and healers..thanks F'ing God.

@jamecave I certainly hope so. The trinity is extremely outdated. the only thing you should need to have a successful group is other players of roughly the same progression doing appropriate content. Classes should only dictate style, not role.

@Dionysus187 Exactly. WoW was never supposed to be based on the trinity..the EQ2 guys brought that over. Before we even knew what tanking/healing was, we were running almost all the 5 mans with the oddest of groups. No tanks, no healers. We CONTROLLED our way through the content and used the environment.

That's what GW2 understands. That it should be about your ability of how to solve/combat and encounter. Not about some dude spamming heals on a dude who is screaming at the mobs.

@jamecave Well EQ1 had the trinity even before all that. The trinity is used in development as a crutch for designers to make harder content without having to be very imaginative. Want to make a fight harder? increase the numbers the mobs push out. that is literally the difference between lower level 'normal' instances and level 50 'hard mode' instances on SWTOR. Almost everything works the same except the enemies hit harder and can take more hits.

Wow's LFG system spoiled people. I constantly hear DPS bitching about how they can't find a group but I spent half an hour today trying to get somebody to fill a DPS spot for Colicoid. If you're DPS, expect your random FP life to be terrible or do what I did, make friends and FP with them.

@Hektikshok This is literally the worst LFG system I have seen. There isn't even a global channel. EverQuest 2's LFG system is 'robust' in comparison. This isn't people being spoiled, this is like going from doing pretty well for yourself to living in a dumpster. FF11 had a similar system but people got familiar with that from level 10, you weren't going to accomplish jack shit otherwise. Can't pull that shitty LFG tool crap when you can solo to 50.

@Hektikshok I have a pesky thing called 'real life' that prevents me from spending hours each day solely dedicated to establishing a social network on a video game. I already have a guild and long friends list though, as it turns out their schedule isn't 1:1 with my own. Odd I know since we all have the exact same lives. @Hektikshok It's irrelevant how many friends I can make. There is an extremely low amount of potential people to make a successful group due to uneven server populations and lopsided role population. And as I have already stated I have many friends on SWTOR so your harping on this issue is only a testament to your lack of reading comprehension. Should I expect another generic and ignorant 'make more friends' reply?
