In 29 years of Army service I never came within an iota of being the kind of Soldier that these men were. They saved the future for all of us to share in, and I, for one, am proud to live in the shadow of their Greatness. If only we could truly earn what they paid for with their youth, their blood and their lives.
I've seen this mini-series so many times and these guys are my role models. I may sound crazy but too bad wars aren't fought like this anymore... I actually want to be able to go back in time and fight in WW2....

I don't like it that the series almost makes it look like the whole war was won only because of those guys. Furthermore " I Served In The Company Of Heroes" is quite a shame, because every Allied soldier who fought during the Second World War was a hero in my opinion.

These are probably some of the bravest men in history besides Civil War soldiers and soldiers that were in the trenches in WW1

@pandasoldier321 blithe did not die until 1969 he recovered from his wounds and but it took him more than 90 days to recover so he had to serve with the infantry in operation avalanche,then he served in korea

Germrany had the possibility to lead europe to its old world dominating role, but of course the brits were to proud to admit it, or, what is quite the same thing, they would rather destroy europe before accepting german dominance. @ thegoaltender94: the USA should have stayed at home. European matters are not their concern...

But, what else is new, the Americans stick their nose in everyone's affairs, and now that is their downfall. Europe wouldn't be in the mess they are in with the Muslim rats had Hitler won. @BellumSacrumBellum28 You are probably right, the muslims wouldn't be a problem in europe, because if hitler found someone he didnt like, he would have them killed. His goal was world domination. He believed the germans were a more highly evolved race, and they were to rule over all other races. He wouldn't have stopped with Europe, after he had taken it, he would have attacked the US, but with all of Europe's armies, and more advanced weaponry. The US wouldn't exist now if they hadn't attacked.

The americans should not have interfered the war in europe. It should have been settled between Britain and Germany, to determine for once and all, who rules europe. But once again Britain was too weak to defend himself against german superiority, so they called the yanks in.
