Hi! I'm looking for recording gear and don't know what to choose! I like the Pod Farm's tone but I feel as if I really want the tone from my own amp(micing) instead of getting it from a computer. What would you recommend for micing an amp? I play mostly post-hardcore and metal.

I have pod farm and it's ok but not really impressive. If you like the tone from your amp then you probably should by the sm57. This microfone is used by pros like john petrucci and others and it isn't that expensive!

if your in to amp software, then you should seriously consider learning about usin cab impulses instead of the line 6 cabs. they will drastically improve your tone

I've had the pod studio gx for 2 months now and I find that to have a usable tone, you have to use post eq A LOT after the pod farm vst.

I am not able to make my tone sound as full as many of the youtube users. I must have missed something. My rig is:

- Esp ltd m401 emg 81's neck/bridge.

- pod studio gx

- pod farm 2.5

- reaper ( daw )

Like I said, it sounds weak and fizzy if not using a lot of eq afterwards. Do you have any tips on how to achieve a great tone like yours?

@jochiasson It's because you're probably using the stock version of POD Farm, which frankly - Is not that good. The Platinum version has all the model packs, which sound vastly better.

Either way - Try out the TSE X50, it is much easier to dial in, and it's FREE! I haven't touched POD Farm for guitar tones since I downloaded it.

@SHAGADAH Not necessarily. If the tone you created in podfarm 2 used amps, cabs, effects etc that aren't available in your pod x3, then it won't work. The file format is the same for the pod x3 and podfarm. I have downloaded tone files made using an x3 and used it in my podfarm but I had to purchase the metal workshop pack as I didn't have the amps/cabs needed in the basic podfarm.

he's used a program called pod farm as a pluging to a recording program, it has high quality simulated amps, cabs and studio effects, you should look into it. i recommend it

Does POD farm require any line 6 hardware (by that I mean interfaces and all that stuff) ? I have a M-audio fast track-interface which I use with my protools M-powered, but I'm not so sure if it will work with POD farm... Thou if I bought a line 6 interface it wouldn't work either because my protools requires a M-audio interface to work...
