  • MAGIC!!!

  • To all who believe Enya only lipsyncs: This is one of her performances where she really sings live - believe it or not: it is so! And she is one of the most beautiful female artists alive!!

  • i think this is a genius performance. The singing is so effortless andyet so graceful -Brian

  • Ouhh good, very good, she's singing really Live!! Great!! :-D

  • @k5jon shes shy thats why she would try to keep eyes off her

  • I have now found the music that will be played at my funeral, when that time comes... Enya's voice has been sent from God. Many thank you's Enya!

  • THIS SONG CHANGED MY LIFE

  • @animandolasletras same. It is always changing my life, never stop since the first time I heard it.

  • Don't forget to give props to Howard Shore for composing the music and lyrics.

  • @dreamlandnightmare "May it be" and "Aniron" have been composed by Enya

  • @enyaaway Are you sure she composed the music? The melodies seem to reflect the style of the LOTR score more than her own style.

  • @dreamlandnightmare The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

The soundtrack includes two pieces written and performed by Enya: Aníron (Theme for Aragorn snd Arwen) is sung in Sindarin; and May It Be is sung in English with a few words in Quenya. Sindarin and Quenya are fictional languages invented by author J.R.R. Tolkien for the novels.

  • @enyaaway Yes, I understand that Enya performed the songs in "Fellowsip", but I was always under the impression that they were collaboration pieces, with Howard Shore composing the music, as was the case with Emiliana Torrini ("Gollum's Song") and Annie Lennox ("Into the West") in the following to films.

At the very least, I'm sure he orchestrated and conducted the orchestra.

  • @dreamlandnightmare do you even know her style? Listen to any of her music it's just like her.

  • @emtalks2u Her voice is usually synthesized and accompanied by electronic instruments.

  • God bless her!

  • wow, finally one song she is actually singing live because there's not to many layers in the first voice. :)

    Happy New Year 2010

  • Enya is amazing, so graceful, a talent that is quite rare, but the problem I have is did they really need to stick a big screen behind her showing clips of the damn film? Don't get me wrong, I loved the trilogy but I think the music speaks for itself, and the performance didn't need this effect to it. If I was Enya I would said "May it be...that you get this damn screen off the stage!"

  • @K5Jon I get what you're saying, especially when they were showing clips of the army when she sang on Larry King. But in all honesty, she was asked to write this song FOR the movie so I feel it is necessary (with help in writing it FOR the movie.) If it had not been for the movie, this song wouldn't even exist. I would agree if she made this song way before the movie and it was completely separate. That aside, beautiful song.

  • @Siixy66: Yes I understand she was asked to write the song for the film, but how many musicians have you seen preform songs for films where they have a giant screen showing clips of said movie in the background? Personally I would find it an insult, since some of the attention is going to the film, and not to the singer and performance. As much as I enjoyed the LOTR films, don't get me wrong, they were splendid, but I didn't feel they needed to exploit it on Leno's show during this performance.

  • @K5Jon More than likely the song was contracted for the movie and the movie makers have probably got the copyright on the song so that they can always have a part in any performance by the singer. Seriously, that is how the world works. Peter jackson would have nothing to do with that side. New Line Cinema probably has more to do with the movie being on the screen. With so many people ripping off these songs and the movie, do you blame them?

  • @K5Jon people are able to watch this movie free on youtube. they can download the music as well. and people just rip off these movies before they are even due for video release. Do you blame the moviemakers for wanting to at least have something back for their money invested and the making of the movie? If you were making the movie and being ripped off by pirates you would probably do the same, yes? of course you would

  • Oh she is great!

  • Thank you for posting Enya's "May It Be" performance from the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

  • wow.....thank you so much for posting this. i have never seen it before.(only at Larry King and at the Oscars) If you also have the Only Time live performance on Jay Leno please post it ! :)
