That's what I mean by a rule. It's procedure for the interviewee to be done up before-hand. It's not Matthew's choice. But I'm not talking about grooming, I'm talking about aging. Grey hair isn't considered an unattractive quality of aging, that's why some dye, while others don't. I just found it odd that someone would wonder why Matthew doesn't dye his hair, when it's simply because he doesn't want to. Likewise, others DO dye their hair because they want to. Whatever floats their boat.

He does when his roles call him to. But other than that, why should he? Everyone knows everyone is aging, so why try and hide it... he looks distinguished, and he's really grown into himself since his Ferris Bueller days. Good for him! Can't wait for Dim Cap and Finding Amanda.

The same argument could be applied to trimming or not trimming your nails. Why hide that your nails are naturally growing? Why wear make-up? He did wear make-up in this guesting. ;)

Not really... Trimming nails are a matter of maintenance, hygiene and convenience. Nails that grow too long are annoying, chip easily, and things get stuck beneath them. Hair colour doesn't affect a thing, you know? As for make-up, that's just a rule when you're about to be publicly interviewed. Lol, I doubt Matt usually wears make-up unless it's for a public appearance. And grey hair isn't necessarily a shortcoming anyway ;)

Oh no, make-up is not a "rule", the purpose is for your features to pop out on camera to conceal some human flaws. but "everyone knows he is aging", I'm just calling out that one statement because a lot of other "maintenance" and grooming can be affixed to your first argument, not just the gray hair.
