I went to school here in the U.S. until 9th grade and i got to say it sucked. I went to study abroad for a year and i came back to the states with a whole different perspective and seriously more knowledgeable! I had turned into a hermit when i came back. Education out there was way tougher than high school in the states and no chance of slacking off or relying on, "Oh what the heck, I'll make it up during the summer". High school in the states was a piece of cake, compared to education abroad.

I am not very worried about American education as long as we keep an influx of immigrants, which will allow us to continually learn from each other. If no one has noticed, America is probably the most diverse country in the world, that is why we are leaders in many fields. America is a nation of immigrants, and we bring with us knowledge from all corners of the globe.

One of the main reforms is to actualize the ethnic/racial classifications and stop mixing up colors with continents with ethnicity's, w/linguistic groups, and religions, to simulate majorities and minorities.

For instance, Barack Obama, 1/2 white, 1/2 black, a mulatto classified as African just because he is dark skinned.

So if we have blacks and whites, then we should include yellows, browns, tanned & pinks! or if we have African Americans and native Americans then why not European-Americans?

not exactly true, it's true that many foreigners do well in math and science related fields but generally that's about it...if u look at Phd students in the concrete sciences, there are more Americans, but in professional schools like Medicine, engineering, pharmacy you do see alot of foreigners, this just shows me foreigners care more about making good money- and not pursuing careers that require creativity but are less lucrative. This is just a generalization of course, but something I observe

Ya this school does, look at the class size, a dozen maybe 20. For the rest of the US class size is around 40 per teacher, can teach that maybe very well, its too much work. And corps. go to where they can get the same skill level, or less, for a cheaper price, education has nothing to do with it. These people are too disconnected from reality, you have to get into the trenches to see the war.

many teachers have teaching disabilities or they are anglo-monolingual and unable to communicate with Spanish speaking students, I have seen classrooms with 80% of Spanish speaking students with teachers who can't speak Spanish!, and I've seen Spanish language teachers that barely speak Spanish.

It is shameful.
