The rotor tips need to be lubricated. The rotor tips are inside the combustion chamber. Therefore, oil must be injected into the combustion chamber. Oil in the combustion chamber will burn.

Care to elaborate? They are capable of very potent hp/L figures. And they only break down if you:

A) Don't tune them properly, and

B) Don't maintain a strict maintenance schedule.

A) They have little or no engine braking which means they are unstable under heavy braking and far more likely to lock up or trigger ABS in poor conditions

B) They are massively uneconomical thus defeating the point of having a small engine in the first place (obviously apart from the weight advantage)

C) Power delivery is about as dull as can be, it is completely linear and has no kick at all (some may argue this is a benefit but not me, I think it makes for an uninspiring and souless drive)

on the negative side rotary is thristy, fragile, low torqre. BUT !!! my mate can empty his evo in 30 min or less. if ppl don;t take good care of an engine, no matter what it is it won;t last, plus rotary need extra care. it has more then enough torque to do burnout till the rear pops, fast on track plus there r planty of 8sec rotary out ther. look at 787B it kick ass n because it far too fast and lot less thristy for traditional engine v10 v8 or v12 it was banned form entering any race

Don't see how it is that much trouble to send the car to a conversion shop (that's what they do) cut the top/ ad some swaybars and stiffen, Then charge the consumer 6000-8000 grand more for not having a top.

I saw the new Camaro at a Chevy dealer in Pearland, Texas this past weekend. It was SWEET! This convertible Camaro is just as sweet. I am very uneducated on rotary engines, so I can't comment on a more effecient rotary engine. Gold doesn't make a good primary color to me, but I'll admit that Ferrari looks very nice in gold (I still prefer Rosso Ferrari or Blue Tour de France). You know what you wanted to say, Derek D.! ;) Nice punt 3:11, also! Interesting Acura note. Congrats on 600 shows!

The Camero Convertible looks great. A more powerful yet fuel saving engine from Mazda sounds great and it'll be interesting to see how direct injection works with a Rotory, and I never understood exactly what is a four door Coupe. I'm guessing its a four door car with the sleek lines of a coupe, but thats just a guess.

The definition of coupe has been blurring to include any car without a fixed central (B) pillar. Designers started calling new models like the Merc CLS four-door "coupes" mainly because of their long, sloping rooflines and de-emphasized central pillar. There even used to be two-door sedans back in the 70s; you could tell by the two solid support pillars in the middle behind the doors.

Gotta love the camaro but this bold move leaves them open to more negativity - something they don't need at press time. Remember the Camry, America's best selling car? Toyota was lampooned mercilessly by every car critic for that because the car became wobbly.

Remember the PT Cruiser convertible? Top Gear savagely skewered Chrysler for successfully turning an already "aesthetically challenged" car and making it even uglier.

GM's already on thin ice. Just make a z28 and keep the top on. =P
