Larry Hooper joined Lawrence Welk's orchestra in 1948. For over 20 years he was a featured vocalist with songs such as "Oh Happy Day". I just saw Howie last night & me and my girlfriend thought this was hysterical. It was something right out of the Andy Kaufman playbook!! We were singing along while others were booing & chanting we want Howie. I can't believe they didn't get it. In fact a couple older people got up & started to walk out just as it was ending. This was comedy at it's best!!!
