I had a 77 matador wagon.I bought it in 1988 for $200.It was the best running and ridding car I ever owned.It had a 360 in it and i swear i got 20MPG.I drove it for 2 yrs.never had one problem with it.Except the voltage reg plug broke.The alt wire came off.$8.00 part and 15 min install.I eneded up buying a pontiac ventura(like a novA)So I sold the matador for $100.I sure wish I had kept it.I have never had a better car.even when i spent thousands

Looks like there are early '90s Ford Explorer factory wheels on the AMC. Take care of these two. These were built for towing, interstate long hauls, and big families.

my father had one of these matador wagons when I was seventeen I snuck it some times I only had my beginners lic. I had it up to 147 mph that is the fastest I had ever driven in my life I think it had a 403ci but that thing would haul ass I think it was an orange/brown metalflake with woody sides I loved it he traded it in on a Volare wagon with a 225 yuck

the matador looks much more modern than the ford. the bodytrim is much better and you could think it's a car from the early~mid-80ies =)

Nice looking cars. I'd go for the Matador wagon, for its protruding nose, simply because it's different.
