  • haha, he said shaft

  • I actually recieved an arial ball before, exactly like that + I got blown up by the ref for it! Even the other team had said I didn't do anything wrong..she did blow me up for many non-existant reasons in that game.. If I'd done something wrong I would've accepted it, but I wasn't best pleased! lol

  • Thank you so much for posting this, all of your videos are so helpful :)

  • I love this sport! ^_^

  • okay WTF do yur hockey sticks have magnets or somethin

  • the hockey stick sorta absorbs the ball.

@absorb. when the ball is coming towards the hockey stick the hockey stick gently touchs it and moves bac a little to get a good control of the ball.

  • dont be a muppet, hockey balls are plastic :P

  • doing my gcse hockey tomorrow and this has really helped me :D

  • omg thank you so so so so soooo much for this video. ive watched at least 20 times already! im really trying hard to pick this game up and get good...and quick(my 1st game is in three days...I'M SOOOOO WORRIED!!!)

  • it's not easy.. take it from a pro.

    but it is absolutely trainable..

  • Great can you do a video on tackling?

  • I don't think you tackle an opponent in field hockey. Then again, I'm not that familiar with the sport

  • you do tackle :)

  • you do tackle.but with the stick..

its how you get the ball away from an oppenent in a one on one situation

  • For the one where you lift your stick in the air... a girl on my team did that and was called for high sticking

  • You have to be careful on how high your stick is when you hit the ball. I *think* the limit is shoulder height but I could be wrong.

  • there is no limit it these days, is all based on the umpires intepretation of how dangerous something is...

though if they come in on ur left when ur about to hit and you smash them in the face they are the one at fault for putting themselves in the dangerous position!!

  • Oooh, ok, I played a long time ago :D

  • there is no specific height when hitting, but if you have a big swing and miss, you will be penalised. also for arials, the head of the stick must be below the top.

  • @roxya1 you can have it higher if know one is around

  • As am I. I think some of my lot would be able to do most of these, but some of these guys are really quite young and inexperienced.

    So it's quite taxing.

  • i'm coachin junior team i think this is so easy for them to learn

  • yes it is easy, i dont know where you are playing hockey?

  • i saw this b4 at camp they make it look so easy i wish it was that easy
