nice memories, i'd love to see a few episodes in their entirety, love it. Heinz Wolfe .. he was very entertaining too, and my idea of what a professor was .. until i ended up meeting (and having a laugh with) a few, up at Lancaster University in the 80's - great times.

I miss Heinz Wolff on TV! This is what kid's TV needs now, some programmes to encourage children towards science and engineering.

Heinz is now a professor at Bristol dept of engineering i think.
i wish they'd bring back this show, it was a lot more nerdy that scrapheap (although i was very young at the time, but it's how i remember it :)

Brilliant show! Brian Cant hosted the first series in 79, Heinz was a Judge in the early days. Repeat or a dvd would be nice!

@JAYROX1969 They couldnt remake it. Most of the "talent" on tv these days couldnt boil a fucking egg let alone race one ;)

Weren't these the later titles? I'm sure the original titles had an egg hatching feet and sprinting along a race track.

Total genius - fantastic programme.. I suppose Scrapheap Challenge is the descendant of this on a larger scale.
