Cobaltchill: Females are smaller than males. Djarrah is male, Wilka is female.
I highly doubt you have an actual dingo. I've been contacted by hundreds of people from the USA who think that their jindo, shiba inu, cattle dog, etc. mix is a dingo simply because of a rough resemblance. They're hard enough to obtain in Australia, and are undomesticated wolves, not regular dogs, that most people cannot tolerate because of their extremely shy personality and strong inclination to escape.
By the way, they're not "mine". They live at the Dingo Discovery and Research Centre, a sanctuary part of the Australian Dingo Foundation. See my YouTube profile to find a link to our website for more information.
nikicd: I've noticed on the descriptions of several of your videoes that Djarrah is a desert-type dingo and Wilka is an alpine-type. Are these different breeds of dingo, and how are they different?
579862BRADLEY579862: Desert and alpine type dingoes differ by environmental adaptations. Desert dingoes live in warmer climates, requiring a shorter coat, and hunt prey mostly on open flat land, requiring the speed of longer legs. Alpine dingoes live and hunt mostly in relatively cold mountaneous areas, where double coats and shorter legs are advantageous.
579862BRADLEY579862: Look for the video titled "Opal, a young dingo, asking for a treat". Some volunteers taught the yearlings to beg for food by waving their paws.
SilverWolfKitten: I think it's all just a matter of being used to them. Many years ago when I first saw Asian people in large numbers, they all looked the same to me simply because my mind was only focusing only on their basic physical features. After a while the brain memorizes these and moves onto the fine details. The dingoes all look very different to me, and I can often determine which ones are closely related to each other judging only by their physical appearance and behaviour.

Lol, it's funny how they compete to get the treats. Have you ever made them do tricks?
