  • those are a old Italian thing to ward of if put up straight it wards of evil. put towards someone it gives evil. It was put into use bye Ronny James dio (R.I.P). He was a heavy metal singer. who was in a band called rainbow then after Ozzy Osbourne he came in. he decided to do that because of the type of music they played. then the metal nation started doing it and yeah. people need to learn there shit.

  • rough crowd..everybody...please botttle up your anticks to everyone...not person likes the same , beat, music, chord,tempo...etc. its all irelavent!! were all still alive!! god..made everyone different!!!!

  • Crowd=What a Bunch of Noobs

  • devil horns my ass.

  • the croud wont shut the fuck up

  • Its no more annoying than assholes who hold up their cel phones for the entire show so they can record every minute of the performance.

  • You know, that sign has nothing to do with the devil's horns. That sign is the shape your fingers make (if placed correctly) when you play a power chord on a guitar. Power chords are the main (often the only) chords used in almost all rock or metal songs played. The hand sign means "rock n' roll" or "metal" because power chords are the foundation of that type of music ... it has nothing to do with the devil.

  • That is the term most people use to refer to that hand gesture. That doesn't mean it has anything to do with the devil, and I never said it did. Your point is irrelevant anyway. Even if you were to go by your definition, the sign shouldn't be thrown up during this particular song.

  • So you think "devil horns" is just a sarcastic term for the sign? Some people take it pretty seriously; like it's a bad sign. A lot of kids that use it, us it because they think it's "hardcore" and cool. What they don't realize (and you didn't) is that it's just a symbol of a style of music.

My point isn't irrelevant. I was just correcting you on the correct name(s) for that sign (power cord, metal, or rock sign). You're correct that it's misused in the video.

  • There was nothing I said that needed to be corrected by you. Anytime I have heard someone refer to that hand gesture, they always refer to it as "Devil Horns." If you go to a metal show, the singer may tell you to throw up your fucking horns, devil horns, etc. Not once have I heard anyone say, "Throw up your power chord and/or metal or rock sign!!" Do you disagree with me on that? I know what it represents (which is not the devil) and when its typically used, and "Hurt" wouldn't be the time.

  • You're not supposed to use your index and pinky to play power chords. Where did you hear that. Is that how you play them. That seems awkward to me.

  • It's meant to be a magic sign isn't it? I think I heard somewhere alister crowley came up with it.

  • I've seen this live twice (they didnt play it on one occasion) and it's strange how everyone around me always describes a sense of Euphoria during the end of Hurt.... it's definitely a highlight of the gig.

  • some moron named basoll, complains that Trent whines and has a whispering crying voice in this song......if you knew what the song was about, you would know he perposily sounded that way.....he sounds great....and its not whiny, he really feels this song. Its probably the greatest song ever written

  • trent worte good song...but i like johnny cash when he sings it....trent pretty good tho...

  • I like the song, especially the strong parts.

  • the audience...-.-

  • Basbol: Fuck You

  • It is funny to me how most of the audience is in this euphoric squallor, in total contrast to the real intention of the song. I wonder how Trent feels?

  • agreed, cash did the cover... reznor even said that cash did a good cover of it...

  • nine inch nails came to Hong Kong, the concert was amazing!!!

Hurt was the last song played.

  • this was based off of johnny cashes song witch i heared lol NIN did a very good job at it

  • This is an original Nine Inch Nails song buddy. Cash was covering it, not the other way around.

  • dude nine inch nails didnt covered it

  • Thats what I just said. Trent Reznor wrote "Hurt" and Johnny Cash did his own version of the song years later.

  • o my bro's a big fan of nine inch nails and he said that johnny cash didnt covered it on a counta i could see why caz hes older but w/e u say

  • Dont confuse people dude. Johnny Cash covered NIN on Hurt. Trent Reznor wrote the song.

  • Your bro does seem a bit stupid, very stupid..

  • Was this filmed in San Antonio?? Because if it was then I was there.

  • No. Ridgefield,WA

  • Oh ok.

  • damn crow, cant they shut up during this sad ans serious song at LEAST!!?!?!??! any other song, yeah but not 'hurt'! its emotional and serious. it doesnt need to be fucked up by a damn crazed audience

  • i hate the crowd..

  • As far back as I can remember, horns have always been a symbol used at heavy metal shows. Today, they're seen everywhere,I've seen people throwing up horns at an alanis morrisette concert for christ sake. Its just ridiculous how its being used at every type of concert when it doesn't fit. NIN's music, especially HURT..isn't the type of music you throw devil horns up to. If you're at a Slayer show then go for it.

  • Haha my friend told me people were doing it at a Nickelback concert...pretty sad.

  • What do you mean, Chisel? What's wrong with tossing up the horns? Not only does he have a former metal bassist, but he himself has probably tossed up the horns a few times, given the agressive nature of his music. Quit being snobby.

  • P.S. Im Working On Uploading A 4 disc NIN Bootleg Of 60 Live Songs.. None Repeated.. Its Pretty Much Every song they have ever performed Live on one Set.. And Each Version Is Its Rarest. Like Dif. Lyrics.. Or Trent Cant Bare To Continue On Key Because He Cant Keep Himself From Bawling.. its Amazing.. So Hit Me Up And WHen i Get it Uploaded you can take a Listen..

  • For the love of Jehovah, you do NOT need to capatilize every freaking word you type!

  • I Agree, Ive Been To A Handfull Of NIN Concerts.. yet Everytime .. People Just Have to Scream Every chance they get in between His Sentences.. And If You Have Seen Lots Of NIN's Live Stuff, you Know That trent Is Not Afraid To Pro-long The The Music And Hold Back on the vocals Untill Everyone Is Quiet... SO Please.. SHUT THE FUCK UP UNTILL THE END OF THE PERFORMANCE!

    Please!

  • The amount of people shouting the whole through is really really annoying.....
