The breathing thing is great help, and so thanks, though perhaps you could give advice regarding how to split techniques.
What I find is that more of my trouble comes from thinking what my instrument (in this case a Mandolin) is doing, rather than both and so my singing (on it's own, acceptable) sounds weak and shaky and such.
