On one of the the Back and Forth DVD extras, Dave admitted writing this for Taylor Hawkins after the drummer OD'd in England a few years back. Knowing the genesis of the track makes it even more powerful. Give it to the Foo Fighters - they can write something like this, then peel the paint off your walls with something like All My Life or a dozen others.
