HOOOOOOLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTT that's a giant wave. Mike Parsons is always in the right place at the right time. First 2001 and now this epic wave. At 77ft it's the Official Biggest Wave ever ridden and only this photo of it exists. How many folks on here still have to be told there is NO VIDEO FOOTAGE of this ride. Not Step into Liquid, Not Billabong Odyssey - they have the 2001 footage. Parsons most famous footage is that incredible 64ft wave that everyone has seen.
DUDES! There is absolutely footage of this - a surf film/documentary called Step into Liquid. I thought that it would be tough to beat Riding Giants, but I think I actually like it more. Anyway, heaps of torrents out there for this movie and you'll most definitely get to see Parsons and the crew ride the Cortes Bank!
@Axehand yeah I think you are right - but on that doco there is definitely footage of Parsons riding at Cortes right? Just not in 08 but earlier - maybe 2003? Anyway you still get a pretty sweet look at Cortes from S.I.L
that isnt mike parsons...ITS BIGFOOT!!!!

@Stratty362
Step into Liquid has the footage from the 2001 swell, this is the 2008 swell. There is not footage for this wave.

@Stratty362 Incorrect, there is no video footage of this wave. Step into liquid was made before this swell.

There are a few posted on Surfline. Maybe not the biggest waves ever, but pretty damn big. Almost cartoonish.
