Hmm this tutorial s wrong, I hate it when people teach things wrong, he's missing out an A chord (with a G note after) after the Bb and then again after C. Hes playing Bb chord to G note then C chord to A note which is incorrect, all it takes is a little bit of actual listening, he's just playing what he thinks it sounds like than what it actually does, alot of people do that and its annoying, especiallt if you're teaching.

yes- and every time you see the intro is two gtrs. Clapton plays the single note intro and gtr 2(Fairweather Low) plays the descending chords. We all play both parts because unless you are playing with a second guitarist it's obviosly incomplete!

learn the scale, then to play it across the fret board until you can solo. then pick a few chords you like, and solo around them.

this is the most destructive lesson an aspiring guitarist could see - learning a song note by note or even tab i try to look at with a macroscopic eye.

understand the progression of the song, the key he's playing in, and understand the movement (i prefer to think of the first chord as the reference, then moves up or down, up/down, building suspension, and then releases and returns to the first chord
