  • love how all these guys are english, respect.

  • I think we can summarize Andy snap by that he 'does a bit of everything'

  • How is this a masterclass? you learn nothing from it! Its just a interview....

  • Moorcroft Studios, Scotland Yard, something I recorded a few months ago

3 hours recording and mixing, any comments would be appreciated,

  • Damn, I keep finding myself turning the volume down when he's talking, which is really loud, and then turning it up when the "journalist" whispers.

I plugged the PC-output into my guitar rack, and used the compressor so that the journalist and the mixer where at the same level.

    Mixing, it completes everything.

  • finally somebody who understand, that the finished product is what makes and breaks. everybody wants these fat break down guitar riffs and chugging and what not... yet they have no idea how every instrument harmonizes together to create the finished product.

  • @DJyorkei Never try go for a finish, before you have all layers. Excactly

  • Its pretty crazy we understand all these numbers hes throwing around. 421s, 57s, 91s, 58s etc. A n00b would be hopeless here

  • I love this interview, really informative, and he's got some great ideas, but by far the best bit is the fact that he's wearing an awesome t-shirt lol 'Slavery gets shit done'

  • Mark Mynett is my lecturer!

    He's a really cool guy

  • An interview about music production with dreadful audio quality...

  • What the fuck! thats my mate's band For Untold Reasons playing at the beginning

  • should of hired me to do the interview. I have worked as lecturer before and even better I know how to get info out of andy and I live around the corner!!!!!!!LOL

The questions seem very geekey, sorry it had to be said!!!!!!

  • brilliant video's. no-one really covers this type of music from a professional sense.

  • What's that song in the intro? Sounds awesome!

  • The quality is fine for an interview. We don't need to read the labels on the mixer, but you can make out his t-shirt:

    SLAVERY gets shit done

  • This is the goods....!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, there's so few quality recording vids that discuss heavier music!!!

    Thanks S.O.S......keep em coming!!

  • Great videos. Very interesting. Which band is that anyways?

  • I'm glad it's not just me. I'm running a studio here, myself, and I thought I had something wrong with my rig!

  • Anyone else hearing clicks and pops all over this interview?

  • yup

  • yeah. and the others too. sound on sound should really know better!

  • Hi, Sorry for the quality of these videos, they were filmed and edited by Mark Mynett not by Sound On Sound. While the quality may not be perfect we thought you'd enjoy them all the same. SOS

  • the quality of content is still great!

  • @soundonsoundvideo yeah..I thught that it was my speakers...

@soundonsound...thanks anyway... the interviews are really helpfull \m/

  • @soundonsoundvideo yeah i see comments here about the sound quality... wow!!! people should just focus on the information given by the videos and stop commenting about the sound.. its good enough to get pleanty of infromation abou recording!!

  • @soundonsoundvideo The quality may not be perfect but 10/10 for these interviews and the information given. Thanks allot Soundonsound and Mark Mynett.

  • yeah me too, I thought it was just me

  • @PocketDrummer Oh stfu , can you hear the information? this is not an album production its a yotuube video. Tards.

  • @mcufre Get fucked, sir. It's a video about recording audio... you'd expect the audio to be pristine. If you looked below my comment to the comment by SoundOnSoundVideo, then you'd see it wasn't them that edited the video. Besides, I wasn't criticizing them for it, just bringing it up.

Also, this comment happened two years ago, so you get a gold star for being the late blooming asshole.

  • @PocketDrummer I don't expected anything besides getting some production wisdom and I got that alright. Even if this was recorded with an iphone it would have been ok. I will judge production when I hear a production, not when I listen to an interview.

    Regarding the rest, shove it.

  • @mcufre Well, Maria Cufre, I have better things to do than argue with someone online. You're a sad little princess of own sad little hill. I'll leave you to tend to it.

  • @PocketDrummer And you are a queen in the kingdom of utter bullshit, i will let you revel in it.

  • Great interviews! Keep'em coming!
