  • @spida1a

    Thanks for watching!

(now you have to make a comment :D)

  • @GermanGameRoom Lol! I do? :)

  • You sound REALLY sad about the music, man.

  • I had heard of this game, but I never thought it was THIS bad. Even the NES version isn't as hard as this, and I have played both on emulators. The NES version also has weird hit detection, but it's something you can get used to. The bosses in both games are tough, but Turbo Darkwing is cheap, and NES Darkwing is Mega Man-ish tough, if not impossible. Still, great review man!

  • @TheNintendo101 Thanks! I liked the Capcom NES version, this game is just horrible. :)

    Thanks for watching.

  • The terror that faps in the night?

  • Has anybody ever told you that you sound a bit like Penn Jillette?

    Great review!

  • @spida1a Ive heard this game was bad, but holy snikies this is one game that can drive the sanest of men to suicide! XP yuck wat a trainwreck

  • The NES version of this game is great!

  • @salozmen29 Yes, totally. Sigh...I wish Capcom did this one. :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • i liked this game when i had it. it was hard. beat it only once. it was satisfying when i finally did it.

  • @shaolinlueb Cool. Knew there was one person out there (ha ha). ;)

    Thanks for watching my friend.

  • first time i heard you swear, spida1a

  • @RawbThatPunk Ha ha. This game brings the worst out in me.....but, shhh....don't tell anyone. ha ha. ;)

  • Jeez, I cannot even find a copy of this game on Ebay!

  • Darkwing Duck should have been on SNES instead of the TurboGrafx after seeing this. At least Capcom knew what they were doing.

  • @RocMegamanX For sure. If Capcom was able to make it on the Turbo, it would have been great as well. Unfortunately.......grrr!!!! Ha ha. Thanks for watching.

  • The programmer received the company memo that they were gonna close their doors soon... So the poor guy finished it in a semi-comatic state no doubt. Its a shame because it had potential. Even more odd is the fact that Disney games have young kinds as their target audience... Hummmmm...

Reminds me of the time my yonger sister bought the little mermaid for the NES. She was having problems playing so she asked me to try it... Finished it on my 1st try on my 1st life :P

    Not so with this one...

  • Hahha I laughed so much XD

    You got nice voice!

  • @SpedeCO2 Ha ha! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

  • What does Moliarty do in 2 games based on show? There're only 2 or 3 episodes with him in show. And his level in this game probably the worst.

  • @pornokrat Ha ha. Totally!

  • @spida1a And your favorite level is Megavolt's one, isn't it?

  • @pornokrat My favorite level is whichever one I don't have to play. :)

  • @spida1a yeah I think version is way better too.

  • this game is horrible the grafx are awesome, I for some reason made my self beat it though it's the worse game i ever played

  • @gregsageisdead Ha ha. TOTALLY! I felt the same exact way...and I "beat it" also because I refused to let it win! HA HA. Never get those moments back, eh?

    Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • @BUCKSHOTSss I love how people like you make these comments without watching even ONE other review of mine. But, whatever....there are plenty of wonderful reviewers out there. I am sure you will find someone else you will enjoy. Take care.

  • Since you mentioned Tailspin, may I ask if you'll review it?

  • @SavageBroadcast I have it on the "to do" list (along with the other 80-some still left to review). But, yeah...we'll get to it. Thanks for watching!!

  • Man, I Used To Watch Darkwing Duck On The Disney Channel And Toon Disney Back Then, But They Don't Show It Anymore. Nowadays Disney Channel's Gone Girly And Toon Disney Changed Into Disney XD.

  • @80sMTV Totally! Loved the show!

  • @spida1a There's always the comics books published by Boom Studios (eventually to be published by Marvel Comics, if anything goes).

  • I don't have this game (THANK GOD).

  • @TheEddyPro Ha ha. Totally!

  • While I have no actual knowledge of the show (I think I saw 1 episode involving some academy full of monsters or something), I did play the NES game, and I loved it because of it's similarities to Mega Man and Bionic Commando (two games I also really like).

    and yeah, I can see that this game looks like a major stinker. There is one thing I have to ask, and I know this may be pointless, but at the moment when that anvil dropped on DW, are you sure that wasn't just an idle animation concept? ^^;;

  • wow you would think this game would rock on turbo16. Its stupid you have to jump on bad guys to kill them. What's the point of the gas gun? Should of could of been an awesome game.

  • It was my first Turbografx game.

Historically it was released year after Talespin for this console. How it can be that this game is even worse than "Baloo und seine Crew"?

  • daaaaamn this game sucked donkey dick!! pardon my French LOL

  • lmao spida1 your hilarious i love ur videos man and ur voice and comments make everything so enjoyable! I actually laugh out loud while watching these. Thanks and keep them coming!!!

  • I always liked the NES version, never knew why they didn't try to make more, and never knew about this until I saw your video, but I'm glad I never played this one!

  • @AllHailKingKurt I liked the NES version also. Sigh..if only Capcom had a hand in this version. :)

    Thanks for watching.

  • I love this guy and his videos! I don't know why.

I Love the old rare stuff myself.

  • @bigt1nyhatch Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it! :)

  • i admit.... i laughed at the death for standing still

that's cruel, but i'd have laughed it it happened to me, especially cause i never stay still usually

and even funnier is him looking at the screen like "if you don't start playing i WILL kill myself" just before it happened

your reaction made it better though admittedly

  • @Ha ha! If I can help someone laugh through my own pain....then it's completely worth it. :)

It is funny, you easily can go "angry nerd" on a game you truly hate. You know? It almost happens instinctively. Ha ha. Happy holidays!

  • @spida1a you two, and i hope you never get killed for doing nothing again, because as funny as it was, that is kinda cruel.

  • @thesentinelonline And I personally and totally agree!!! :)

    Thanks for watching

  • @spida1a ur welcome. Yea I remember that one, but I was so young then I couldnt get past the first part.

  • You're better off playing the NES Version

  • @rdzreborn Agreed! Yay for Capcom! :)

  • I kinda remember playin this. Didn't the Nes have a Darkwing game also?

  • @Kuroneko388 Yes, it was a Capcom game. A zillion times better. :)

    Thanks for watching.

  • Why is your speaking style a carbon copy of angry video game nerd

  • @ChimairaGod Have you watched any of my other videos before making this comment? Just wondering.

  • Your reviews make me want to play TG-16. I never had one, but Now I want one.

  • @thatguyontheright1 I hope this review didn't make you want to play it. You had the opposite effect of what I was trying to accomplish. Ha ha!! :) )

    Thanks for watching!

  • @spida1a Well I dont have a TG-16 or a Turbo Duo, so I am not at risk of playing this game.

  • THIS GAME IS INCOMPLETE!!!!!

  • @IvoryGecko1993 Incomplete...horrible...however you want to describe it! ha ha. ;) :)

  • Wow, you DO make a great actor!

  • hmmm, you have a point. but remember you cannot blame Darkwing. he'd probably say the same thing as you. seeing as he's a gamer himself. I agree. i didn't even know there was a different Darkwing game other then the one for the nintendo and the Game boy. Judging from this video the only thing it has going for it is the awsome detail in the characters. Though, Darkwing might be making a return to the gaming world. there is a rumor i've heard that he might be in Kingdom Hearts 3. I hope it's true

  • why didn't they just make a mega man clone like the nes version

  • @hobocamptheater I wish they had. I WISH THEY HAD. ha ha! :)

  • 6:58 "With the same music that I love so much!!!..."(obviously a mix of frustration, insanity, and sarcasm!)"...that returns and continues throughout the closing credits!"

  • @MrEdwards95 Ugh, just thinking about it.....hee hee.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Can't remember if I commented on your review or not...but holy shit, the trauma this game gave me. I could never understand the jumps and it just..killed me. The furthest I've ever gotten was to Megavolt's level. It's so frustrating getting killed by, uh, EVERYTHING, even when you're nowhere near it. The only part I liked was the jigsaw puzzle. That's sad. Darkwing Duck was my favorite cartoon show back in the day. So this game broke my heart.

  • @ExplodingCarebear My heart was broken as well back in the day. Truly! :(

    Thanks for watching!!

  • @spida1a And I was so excited when I got it too! I was like 8 years old. I remember getting so mad I hurled the controller at the tv. Oh wait, that was every time I played the game. For many years to come. I kept convincing myself that next time it would be different but...no. It was so bad that the show started making me feel uncomfortable. God.

  • @ExplodingCarebear Sounds like we had a very similar experience. It's funny...I actually enjoyed talking about DWD in the memory commentary I did for the DVD because....I just had so much disappointment about it. You know? Ha ha.

    Thanks again!

  • Let's not forget one thing: This game is heresy, because it doesn't have Negaduck! At least the NES one had a small cameo, but this one...none at all! (Well, my uncle who HAS the NES game says that there's a small cameo, but I've yet to see it.)

  • @MastermewtwoALPHA Ha ha! Good point! :)

    Thanks for watching.

  • That's a drag, The NES version is awesome, tricky, but awesome. Of course Capcom's Disney games were always amazin'.

  • @RedLightBulbs You're not kidding. I LOVE the Capcom Disney games. Sigh! :)

    Thanks for watching.

  • STUPIT DUCK 6:20 XD

  • @janmansde3dede Ha ha. Definitely!!!!

  • For some reason, this is my favorite review of yours, Spida. I'm just curious, though, what's your favorite TG-16 game and what is your worst?

  • @MFields2178 Ha ha. I'm glad you enjoy it.

Hmm........I'm not sure what my "favorite" is. I love a lot of them. As for my least, this is one of them. Another one of them is coming up soon in the reviews. Ha ha.

  • that safe...fell on your character??? What! that's so cheap!

  • WOW, dude: you even SOUND like Jim Cummings (sp?!). That's cool :D (I think he did the voice acting in the cartoon?!)

  • @Protectobot Ha ha! Awesome! I would love to do that kind of work. You know? :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • the nes one is better you should try that one

  • @JayDee284 It is quite good. Thanks to Capcom. :)

  • @spida1a so who made this one

  • @JayDee284 Some companies named Interactive Designs and Radiance Software. Blech. :)

  • You've convinced me that it's one of the worst games ever made. That hill section is a nightmare piece of design.

    Thanks for a great review.

  • excellent review. i really laughed my butt off at 6:23 at your response. HAHA. i would tolerate playing frustrating games as a kid but never today. too many great games out now to tolerate junk like this. the game, with just a few refinements, would have been awesome. better controls and hit detection, more music variety, that's about it. doesn't take much more but it looks like this title was either rushed or published as a "get it out of the way" project.

  • AVGN should review this.

  • Ha ha. Yes, he definitely should. This is as "close to AVGN" that I found myself getting. It's funny how such a frustrating and bad game can bring a ticked-off nerd out of ya'. Ha ha! :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • When i got TG-16 in 1994,it was one of the three games i got {Other ones were Batman and Parasol Stars} Horrible game, yet,i still like to play it once in a while

  • Ah, yes........Parasol Stars. I like that game. :))

I always wanted to get Batman but none of the Import stores had it in stock when I was a kid. Sigh...........

    Thanks for watching!!

  • I'm glad that I only rented this game instead of buying it back in the day. It was HORRIBLE !!! I think that the only experience I had renting games that was worse was Ghostbusters for the NES. 0_o

  • Ha ha. Yes, you are very lucky then. :) :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • doesn't look like such a bad game....looks like a cross between aladdin for the snes and a simpsons game....too bad the controls ruin such a promising looking game...nice review, I like watching your reviews....(as well as avgn, +classic game room hd) but i don't watch the irate gamer...(he's a real douch)

  • Thanks a lot my friend. It means a lot to me that you enjoy the vids. Until next time. :)

  • 3:24 "Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah. Heard this already.... Blah, blah blah.... Let's go" LOL!!! Laugh out loud hilarious!!!

  • Ha ha. Yeah! I never realized how much like the AVGN you get when you play a game this way (especially when it's a terrible one).

    Lol! Thanks for watching!

  • I still own this and beat it way back in 1993 when I was a teenager. Great graphics and excellent background art but absolutely terrible play control and awful music. Thank goodness I also had New Adventure Island and my Bonk games.

  • Ha ha. Yes. As you can tell, I really wanted to like this game. But, that didn't happen. :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, the best of 2 worlds. haha

  • Great review!

  • Thanks! Great user name! Hee hee. :)

  • The review that brought me to your account!

  • I just re-watched this one recently. It's funny how a really terrible game brings the "angry nerd" out of ya'. Ha ha. :)

    Happy New Year!

  • Despite all this the game has pretty good graphics. By the screenshots alone, you'd never know how much the game sucked until you see it in action.

  • It really, really does. You know? I REALLY wanted to like this one. Sigh! :)

  • I remember this game. It was so fascinating to see a licensed game on a system that nobody owned.

  • Yes, definitely. I was SO excited for it back in the day. :)

  • It's really disappointing that most games based on licenses like this turn out to be cheap junk like this. You'd almost think Darkwing Duck for the Turbo was thrown together in possibly like 6 weeks or something... maybe even less. It's especially sad that it happened to one of the cooler animated shows in the Disney catalog!

  • Definitely! Ugh!

  • I so agree. I hate this game! The play-control totally sucks ass!!

I just can't believe that after doing such a fantastic job on Sidearms that Radiance would release this garbage!

    WHAT were they thinking?? Disgusting!

Oh! But, the review was right on the money!

  • More like Darkwing Yuck(or F**K) this game horrible not as bad as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde but its right up with it. I never was fan of the show because the writers where on LSD and the shows where too weird, one example was one show where Darkwing tries to save his show from two weirdly drawn humans in an episode I still can't make sense of much like the show and this game,if you enjoy you sanity

avoid both.Watch the better written DuckTales or Watch Tailspin but don't play the Tailspin games.

  • Great review man! I just downloaded this game to my computer. I love Darkwing duck and when I saw that they had made a DW game to turbo 16 with good graphics I was happy as a duck! But after playing it and after seeing your review on it I think this game is ##### crap! The NES version is 100 times better than this version, and that game has only 8bit!

  • I hear you. Capcom just ruled with their Disney Nintendo games. Ugh! This one ticked me off. Ha ha! :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • @spida1a

Yeah, Capcom really hit the motherlod in its honeymoon with Disney. It made a lot of good games worth playing (With the possible exception of Adventures in the Magic Kingdom).

But this game... Dah! It's a real stinker! x_x I'd rather take on the Chicago Blackhawks' entire 1st line by myself than play this game. At least I'd get the gratification and respect for playing against a very good team. This game is a big no-no.

  • Who made this version?

  • My favorite kartoon fucking ruined!!!

  • I hear ya'. Sigh! :(

  • The sad thing is that the NES version was an AMAZING game. and yet somehow the TG16 one was terrible.

  • I know, definitely. I loved the NES versions of the Capcom Disney games. :)

  • this is a typical case of: better graphics do not make a better game

  • I've been saying that since all of my friends started basing their gaming "decisions" on how the game looked only. You know? :)

    Thanks for watching!!

  • no problem dude, keep up the great work and videos

  • I watch all of your reviews.

And I love darking wing duck

as well! It's my 2nd favorite

tv show of the 90's. Behind

    Pokemon.

Oh, and Tailspin was great as

    well.

  • Woho. Thanks so much!

I agree. I loved both those shows A LOT!

  • 6:27 Made me lol so Hard!!!! XD

  • LOL! Ugh! Stupid falling safe!! Hee hee. :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • And...I just caught that Charlie Brooker reference from a mile away.

  • Hey I remember that! Gamepro had a screenshot and a protip about it if I remember correctly.

  • it's almost like...BÄM :D

great review for a bad game

  • Hey, thanks. I'm glad it wasn't the other way around. Hee hee! :)

  • The Talespin/Darkwing Duck boss music was good though.

  • Thank goodness it was "decent" at least. You know? Otherwise........UGH! Hee hee.

    Thanks for watching!

  • The gameplay looks to be a lot like Ducktales 1 & 2 for NES where Scoorge has to use his cane and bounce off stuff.

  • Ah yes....if only it played even nearly that well. :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • Oh man, my beloved DW what did they do to you?

  • Great Review, I'll be sure to stay far away from this nightmare. Thank you for saving me from the wasted hours, endless frustrations, non-stop deafening music, incurable headaches and broken controllers I was sure to have if I ever played this game. Seriously, you must have more patience then Ghandi. During your evaluation I felt your pain.

  • Ugh! See? I was doing it to help out everyone else. Hee hee!!!! ;)

    Thanks for watching!

  • Comment removed

  • Ha ha! I should probably get to the doctor eh? Hee hee! :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • Wow, this games rendition of the theme song is horrible. It sounds like a dirge at a funeral. Anyway, this game looks like crap. The NES Darkwing is a lot better than this.

Usually Konami and Capcom made the best cartoon-based games.

  • It was horrible. UGH!!!

Yes, Capcom NES games ruled. If only they made the TurboGrafx Disney stuff.......you know?

    Thanks for watching!

  • Kay YouTube watcher,

First of all, thanks for watching. I do appreciate it. I work hard on the vids and am always thankful.

Second of all, if you bothered to watch any of my other videos in this review series before posting, you'll notice they're all "original" works. This style wasn't created by the AVGN, he just happened to catch-on. I decided to take the audience along "with me" for the ride as I played the game, instead of doing it after-the-fact. So, that is "orginal" to my series.

  • the sprites and some of the multi layer scrolling look really good. too bad the game play isn't as fun as the NES dark wing duck

  • Definitely! Ugh!! Hee hee.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Great review, but where did you find that 1992 letter?

  • Damn it!! Get up!!! DAMN IT!! SON OF A...

You know, your voice sunds identical to the one of Penn & Teller.

  • LOL! Is that a good thing? ;)

  • IT SURE IS. You listen yourself too professional.

    CONGRAT

  • wow...ok skip and go buy the DVDs on amazon... now if Disney would release the final seasons!!!

  • "Dammit! Stupid duck!"

This one gets me all the time!

  • LOL! It's true though! Hee hee! :)

  • Nice review.

  • Hey, thanks for watching!!! :)

  • I think this game is the reason I have anger issues. I played it when I was 8 til when I was 12...and I never beat the stupid piece of shit. Thanks for summing up everything there is to hate about it :P I was getting infuriated just watching the review! When I played...I threw the controller at the tv about 3 times a day. And just couldn't watch Darkwing Duck for the longest time :'( I was that pissed.

  • Ha. See? We've lost some years because of this game! :(

  • Huzzah! Someone reviewed it so I don't have to! :D Though I may have to longplay it just for the sheer hilarity of me shouting curse words at the top of my lungs. Well...it's hilarious for the VIEWERS anyway. XD

  • Ha! Exactly. I played it WAY MORE than I should have and reviewed it as accurately as possible......JUST SO nobody else had to. Hee hee! :)

  • Pretty jank game, huh? Well, don't worry, there'll be other, even better games.

  • Oh, there are tons of better games. I'm not worried. Hee hee!

  • I'm glad you aren't. :)

  • Hee hee. ;)

  • opppp

  • Tuskerninni reminds me of Governor Ratcliffe from Pocahontas.

  • Yes there were US released Capcom titles. Buster Bros., Forgotten Worlds, Fighting Street (Street Fighter 1), and Sidearms.

  • Additionally in Japan- 1941 Counter Attack, 1943 Kai, Adventure Quiz World, Chiki Chiki Boys, F1 Dream, Ghouls & Ghosts, Quiz Donosama No Yabou, Sidearms Special (CD version), Son Son II, Street FIghter II, Strider and Tenchi O Kurau were Capcom titles that were released.

  • Did Capcom have many TG-16 games released in the US?

I know Street Fighter II and Strider were Japanese only, but where there any American releases?

  • Aw, that's a shame. Was there some sort of embargo on Capcom from Nintendo in the 80's and 90's, as Sega always published Capcom's games in the West as well. (Strider/Final Fight/Forgotten Worlds Etc.)

  • Sorry I didn't watch this review sooner. Most show and movie based games never seem to work out, do they?

  • great review, you got yourself a new sub

  • Awesome! Thanks!

Love your sig. Transformers for ever!

  • I had the Nes version of DWD which compaired to this one is ten times better.

I have this game on my computer thanks to emulators, and it sucks!!! It's got good graphics, but it could have done much better in the gameplay!

There's no way a child could play this game, NO WAY!!!!

I wish we could have an updated version, with more options....but that's wishful thinking!

  • Agreed! The NES version blows this one away!

    Sigh! :)

  • I was a child when I had a turbo grfx, I got it when it came out, I was still in gradeschool. I was able to beat games like this one. To this day, I love crappy games because of all the ones I played on my turbo.

  • DW NES game is WAAAAAAAAAAAY better catchy music in the game too

  • Definitely!

  • Im glad I saw this review before buying this game. Had I not, I would have gone through so much pain from playing it. Thanks

I still wouldn't mind getting it just to add one more game to my collection, even if it is bad.
