The lyrics are originally coming from the poem by Thomas Dekker (1575 - 1641) although slightly changed in this song. It's a beautiful piece and the Beatles will forever be by true idols and my inspiration, thank you for uploading this, I loved the pictures, especially the ones at 0:43 and 1:10 :-) Cheers.
I love this song and when I was little I didn't really know what it meant... I thought it was about polar bears traveling through the arctic... But anyways this is a beautiful song <3 u 4ever Beatles! (espescially Paul & Ringo) It always makes me cry now...
I LOVE this song.....when he sings "smiles awake you when you rise", the way he sings it, in that voice, so full of conviction and emotion..It always makes me cry.
@yarden4080 what do you mean by saying "sorry for hitting you like button"? Do you not like this song or something? Do you think your too badass to like a song by the BeaTles? Well I'm 14 and I think they are one of the best bands ever! I don't care if they are from the 60s they are the best!
Paul is my most favorite artist of all. He kept singing he kept bringing joy to us listeners. He had/has such love for Linda, she was/is his soulmate.
Along with a play I did, we had to sing part of a poem by Thomas Dekker called Cradle Song. I thought the song was dumb because the tune was so weird. I just found out that Paul used the first verse of the poem for this song. (I recognized the lyrics when I heard the song.) He, of course, made it sound amazing! This is now one of my new favorite songs!
I started listening to The Beatles..... I never started, I grew up listening to them, the first song i ever heard was Hey Jude... My mom would sing Hey Jude because my parents were going through a divorce and custody battle, and was very painful for them and i.... Im now 14 and have thanked my mother since since then.... I love The Beatles....

Oh no....nothing that extreme...I moreso had a date with your mom when this song played at the old El Pollo Loco restaurant! I never said this was bad music...but it only caters to rednecks.

@CazK88 how does this music only cater to rednecks?
i'm black and very far from being a redneck and the beatles are my favorite band
the beatles appeal to all kinds of people from all different generations
they were a diverse band and their music is still extremely popular

@littleemokid6
You are soooo right. I'm also black and LOVE the Beatles. They're my favorite band as well. They just don't make music like this anymore.

My favorite song by the beatles. The raw emotion in this song is truly touching. When Paul screams it's so beautiful

is there a problem with you? did your daddy beat you up while listening to this song? or do you think that it is stupid to appreciate great music in a time where it is not seen as much?
Anonymoushuman1 1 year ago
Oh no....nothing that extreme...I moreso had a date with your mom when this song played at the old El Pollo Loco restaurant! I never said this was bad music...but it only caters to rednecks.
