On the other hand while the Bolsheviks did use force to gain control in Petrograd they had the overwhelmingly support of the city and Russia itself (as well as massive support in the soviets, which were far more democratic than the Provisional Government). But historical misinterpretations aside it is still a very cool video. Kudos, FC

Really nice video. However on the white army: The whites were not really pro-democratic or pro "liberal democracy". They were mostly monarchist supporting the old ideas of the church, aristocracy and the empire. They were also incredibly anti-semitic slaughtering hundreds of thousands of jewish people in pogroms during and before the civil war.

Actually the whites were a mix of all the oppositionents of the Bolsheviks. It included monarchists, liberals and partisan groups from countries like Lithuania. It was the fact that this group of 'whites' had no one goal that helped the Bolsheviks win the civil war.
