Lake Pontchartrain Causeway is the longest bridge over water but the weihe grand bridge is the LONGEST BRIDGE. it is 80km long... dwarfing the next longest bridge by 26 km. (54km) the causeway is only 38km.

I disagree with a lot of yall here; the causeway over lake Pontchartrain between New Orleans (Metairie really) and the north shore is in fact a continuous bridge, making it the longest causeway, if not the longest bridge in the world. Varner, at no point between the the two shores of the lake does the bridge land at islands, man-made or otherwise. I suggest yall look it before calling people dumb asses as well.
