Haha those precautions are indeed a bit overdone. I've seen something similar in Tokyo when a couple of workers were busy fixing the pavement. Their bus was on the street, and one person was busy in the hole in the pavement. However, there was a person in front of the bus and another one at the back of the bus, warning passers by to watch out. Furthermore there was another person standing near the hole in the pavement, waving with a glowstick to warn us not to fall in the hole haha.
I've seen that woman before. She's always driving down narrow lanes & dropping the wheels off the path, just to get attention. I wonder if she's got a thing for tow truck drivers & bright orange suits?
This is one of the best videos around here since a long time. Thanks! I'm sure I would have just reversed out of there... maybe damaging the car more, but hey, YOU DON'T NEED TO HELP ME! j.k.
Kudos to you Good Sir, for proving that chivalry is not dead. One question though... Are the mystical orange cones and all powerful orange triangle in front of the auto club truck a distant cousin of the magic yellow plastic chain? Just kidding, keep up the GREAT work!! Cheers!
imo, couldnt some people have just picked up the side of the car (with the car in neutral) that was hanging off the road and then just walk back to get it to where all of the wheels are on the road and then just back out?
That`s wonderful that you tried to help. That was very gentlemanly of you.I hope that she was ok and I hope that she didn`t get into trouble with her boss. The poor thing.
Everything in Japan is so tiny. How can you live in a tiny country, thats so weird. but i love your videos. Its a great inside view of Japan. I love it.
Two more hours on top of the thirty minutes of speaking from those towing men? What are they talking about, do you know? Is it standard procedure to take that long asking questions before actions can be taken?
Love your videos. To a Japanese native, this is simple daily life stuff. However, to someone outside, it's quite intriguing to see life from different perspectives. Thanks for this virtual tonne of videos!
Somehow from the sheer quantity of your videos, I assumed they'd be rushed or low quality, but every one I've seen so far has been absolutely great. I hope that lady was alright!!
Japan Autoclub Man should be able to winch that out of there PDQ! Forget the fact that a car jack might also have done the trick if placed properly. Love the Witches' Hats analogy.
Poor girl. I feel sorry for her. Those narrow streets in Japan are so confusing. I actually saw a couple of similar incidents when living in Japan. Another type of incident caused by narrow streets is cars clipping each other. Also in many areas they have big drainage channels by the side of the road, and sometimes people drive into those. Actually I'm really curious how the tow truck would've got that car out of there?!
I thought you were going to lift that tiny car and get it passed safely; wait why would some one lock that tow truck in the middle of a rice field? unless those crows are car gangs or this guy has been where i live, here you can't take any chances.
That's a shame! The town needs to make that road inaccessable to automobiles. I hope the poor girl doesn't loose her job or get into any kind of trouble.

My gps took me down a road that was grass, not dirt with ruts, but grass that could have been mowed. I hope she didn't lose her job over this, live and learn I guess.
I did OK driving on the tiny roadways in Japan when living on the island of Hokkaido as I traveled by motorcycle all year, and during snowy conditions fueling station owners would invite me in to dine with them and warm up so that it was actually quite enjoyable to tool around on a bike even when it was below freezing outside.
