Far Cry 2 uses Crytech 2 engine, the same as Crysis Warhead.

One of the problems I had with this game was the fire effects. I'm studying to be a firefighter so thats why it bothered me, cuz I would set a brush fire and it would go out in like 30 seconds, and it would'nt spread realisticlly. And it looked awful, aside from the flamethrower effects.

actually if it did spread realistically and the fire became bigger and bigger and took a longer time to burn out, the game would probably start lagging - especially for those with just a normal/slightly better than avg computer

I play far cry 2 on a slow 7150m, fire barely drops the framerate in an already laggy environment. More fire would be great.

Does anyone know how I can make the fire go for longer? Anytime and anywhere I start a fire its burns out after burning a reasonably small area in my definition. Everything is set to Very High or Ultra High and I'm running it at 1920x1200. I can't seem to find in google how to lengthen the lifespan of the fire.

Lol, the two enemies were sitting next to eachother. One get's shot, 'God damn it! I'm hit!' I can imagine the other saying, 'But, but, fire!' 'I'm dying you bastard!' I'd say the AI is very afraid of fire. I started a fire in a small patch of grass in oasis, and whenever an enemy got NEAR it, they would go, 'Agh! Aaaaa!! Fire! Get it away!' Then they would walk right into it.

AI in this game is horrible, the first npc I encountered ran up to me and stood there, I didn't know if he was on my team or what.

Also its very buggy under dx10.

about the other stuff i dunno.. but the guns you pick up from the enemy (not the ones u buy) tend to jam alot, so, buy guns and dont pick them up..also i think there is no bullet drop

I think if you really wanted to do full stealth you would have to get yourself a whole bunch of silenced weapons, because so far in sneak trailers they always get caught with shooting with there snipers and pistols lol

I have only one problem with this game. I haven't seen a feature where you can start a grass fire without having to use a molotov or anything. They need to put a feature in there where the player can start a brush fire with some matches or something discreet like that. But that's just my opinion.
