  • where did you buy the circle with the two chains attaching to the engine?

  • @Donmega884 Someone gave me that so i do not know were it came from.

  • Hey Rich, quick question. I have an 1954 SL300 with a blown steering wheel & partially melted thingy. My question is what type of ice cream goes best in a root beer float?

  • @DrkRonin03 What i want to know is if your 54 SL300 has good vacuum does it really suck.

  • i do this stuff for a living and i just dont understand why you removed the pulley system items and power steering pump. but i also dont know whats wrong with the engine. in my opinion with all do respect half of this stuff is not necessary. i did an engine swap in a 95 sl1 same engine with no problems ,done as whole. nice video,i guess we mechanics have our own ways .

  • nice tunes :)

  • good tech story vid man, ive got a 97 sc1 that i wanna put a DOHC in, cold air intake, gonna get beefyer cams for it, new rockers lifters and valves, new forged pistons and connecting rods, overhaul and put a shift kit in the trans, got any good tips for me?

  • You are going to leave the engine in the ka? The eia box? You really lost me on that one. I don't think my car has either of those things.

  • @seanThree16 Sure you do you just don't know it.....lol

  • @richpin06a We need to teach Rich to say his "r's" properly.

  • This guy is good. Thank you, Richpin, for all the Saturn vids!

  • I guess when you leave the transmission in the car you have to remove most of the accessories, when I pulled my motor (with transmission) I left everything on except the intake manifold and had no trouble getting it out.

  • Rich can you post a video with procedures to removing the Headers?

  • jeez that looks like it takes forever. Can't wait till I have the garage space =)

  • jeez, that looks like it takes forever to prep the removal

  • i got a 95 sl1 with a blown engine and tranny. can i put in the engine and tranny from a 95 sw2? would i need to transfer the computer and wiring harness from the sw2?

  • You should replace the computer with your swap.

  • the wiring harness on the sl1 will work with the dohc motor?

  • @munoz4415 : IF the engines are the same AND the transmission is the same, then you do not have to change ECU's. (or PCM's)

  • Hey Rich, I got a question for you. I got two Saturn SL1 (97 with 134k and 01 with 150k). 97 one has a transmission problem, it shifts real had between gears. Have been driving it for almost 4 year now and the problem is there for almost over a year. I don't wanna give up on it, so I have been searching for used trans in a junkyard. They got plenty of selections. My question is that can I use any SL1 or SL2 trans from 97 to 2002. It is an automatic trans by the way and thx for these great videos

  • There are two transaxles regardless of year.MP6 Automatic from the SOHC.MP7 Automatic from the DOHC.

  • sounds like the main line pressure in the trans is jacked up. there may be a problem with the solenoid body, the trans computer, or engine computer, the trans relies on many of the engines conditions to calculate shift patterns like engine load, engine vacuum, coolant temperature, throttle position and so on. or it could be a mount, i'd further investigate the issue at hand before throwing a new trans in

  • can i put a 1993 motor and trans into a 95 its dohc automatic

  • yes

  • thats cool to have a garage to disassemble a car and repair it and study it, must be awsome, i'm a renter, i'm not sure what i would do if i needed a major fix

  • I need to change my clutch on a 99 sl1, I think, it does not go into gear nothing there. The manual says you have to take out the engine. do you have any videoe for changing the clutch I really don't think it is nescessary to remove the engine, what do you say?

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • You just drop the transmission. Everything is done under the car.

  • dig the new york accent.

  • You just insulated me.....LOL.....thats a Massachusetts accent.

  • Any advice on rebuilding my '94 SL2 twin cam with 198K miles or buying a crate replacement?

    Any help appreciated.

  • I would have the block and head checked at the machine shop, if no good, go with rebuit engine or a crate engine, good luck
