  • what's the title of the song used in this HV?? =)

  • @adyschmunchkins "My Heartstrings come Undone by Demon Hunter"

  • that was great what is the song?

  • "My Heartstrings come Undone" by Demon Hunter

  • haha that's our exact turning wheel from nationals last year

  • i love this video! it touched me so much! I was there (i was the only one who stood up in the audience at the end XD) and i thought u they really deserved it :0

  • This is Awesome that your church has received Merit at state level, Congratulations! I read my comment over and realized that it might have sounded harsher than what was meant. I like seeing groups like yours succeeding because of how much work put into it and how much passion is behind the work. This is why I like to give cc (constructive criticism) to groups like yours. If its your first time, there is a good chance that your team has no idea of what nationals is looking for.

  • I think it is better competition and more powerful when teams are pushed to create not just tolerate. By this I mean that the HV is always changing for the betterment of the HV and never just the same ol'. I also would hate to see your troupe put in so much work only to get knocked down hard at nationals for lack of originality because of past HVs that you may have had no clue even existed. Plus, your troupe has proven a sweet, original creation with the turnwheel. So why not see some more!

  • I challenge your troupe to push the envelope with your creativity and you will see a great impact because of it! Your troupe has an awesome presence and that is one thing that is hard to come by in many HVs. I hope you guys do challenge yourselves and I can't wait to see your final HV on youtube after nationals!

  • Being an outsider but previous FAer myself, here is my constructive criticism. I know the story of Samson, but what is the message you are trying to portray? Second, this might do well at nationals...since most of the moves are direct copy cats of the last few years' FA HV winners! You gotta be more original than this. I mean just watch the sixth place Michigan troup from last year. They had a snippet of Samson and it was more original than your video.

    Just constructive :)

  • Thanx 4 the constructive criticism...I believe any FA entry deserves some, ya know what I mean?

--We looked at the INDY07 2nd place HV and took some ideas from that...but we didn't take everything or intend to totally steal another's originality. This youth ministry, for the first time in its history, won Merit at state level for HV last year. Expectations were high, we committed it to the Lord, and we got 3rd place.

  • The tree...taken from the Merit winner two years ago except they used it as the Garden of Eden and the serpent.

War acrobatics...Merit winner two years ago.

Chained Samson...6th place Michigan troupe last year, IN SLOW-MO EVEN!!!

I thought the Turning wheel was cool and original, but the other stuff has been done. Plus I would strongly look at what you want people to get out of this HV cause it all ended with Samson dieing under a building.

    Just constructive criticism :)

  • We wanted the audience to know that Samson made some poor decisions and ultimately suffered the consequences...but in the end asked God for His mercy--and given it.

P.S. What state were u in when ya FineArted?

  • I am actually from Nebraska believe it or not. FA was some of the only theatre/musical outlet for someone in the dead Midwest. Our church only had the funding to go to Nationals for one year when I did it even though we received invitations and first place each time I was a part of HV and Vocal Solos for NE.

But the one nationals competition was grand! I learned so much from other people and their different standards at the national level.

I am thinking of doing the college FA next year.

  • My Heartstrings Come Undone by Demon Hunter

  • nice! i was in there for callbacks but left before it was done... i think this one was the only one i missed =/

did you see the small drama about bedtime stories?

  • No...was it a large/small drama?

  • that was freaking cool!

  • that was excellent. what were your scores like? and what level of competition was this?

  • This was a statewide competition through the Assemblies of God Ohio Distict Council and through National Youth Ministries. This advanced to the National Fine Arts Festival (held in August and this year in Orlando) and placed third overall in this category.

  • I knew that! I am also a participant in Fine Arts! We have to compete at sectionals, then districts, then nationals! I was just wondering because it is different all over.

  • Sweet! What state are you in and how long have you've been doing FA?

  • Pennsylvania...This is my fourth [and last] year doing fine arts!!

  • Im from Pennsylvania too. They Penn Del Youth is one of the biggest :)

  • wow that was sweet. i wish i couldve made it to watch the call backs. awesome job!!

  • That was AWESOME. Great job. I'm very proud of you sweetheart.

  • did you guys make it past

  • they were awesome! loved watching them!
