  • how much could nocaster pickups cost? :)

  • Great NOCASTER tone! You nailed it!

  • that pig rulez !!!

  • very nicely played man, only the part at 1:11 is not very good. Not enough tension

  • This is awesome man.

Talking frankly I should say this is the best cover for Dogs I have ever seen.

    Welldone

  • And when you lose control... :)

  • Free that piggy throw it in the wind! Greate tone! Best regards!

  • nice :)

  • I can see that if I'm going to improve my Floyd playing I'll need to start using a pig a hand dryer! lol. nice.

  • awesome!

  • Love the pig! Love the tone.

  • Great playing...We need to get you a better amp. It would be that much better..

  • man really nice congratulations, simply wonderful :)

  • Spot on my friend..... Spot on.

  • Good tone and good play!

  • Nice job! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

  • fingering is brilliant, though.

  • Hopelessly out of tune. Listen to original once more.

  • Absolutely awesome cover. Amazingly clean

  • SUPER!!!!!

  • i forgot to ask. does the nocaster have the fade pot with a 3 position tone switch instead of the 3 way pickup selector?

  • you have the guitar of my dreams and the skills to use it. you just gave me something to do on this cold saturday afternoon. what kinda gear are you using?

i have a squier tele that i love, and i cant wait to retro it with fender 'nocaster' pickups. the squier is a bit lite for true tele tone, but plays great, despite rather weak pups. just put an ampeg reverberocket amp in layaway, and with the hot rodded squier, im really looking forward to pissin off the neighbors.

  • Very good ! I want the pig ! :-D

  • Im thinking about buying a stuffed pig now this album and song rules!!!!!!

  • tumbs up for the pig!! :D

  • f*cking perfect man!

  • i love the piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig

    :D

    good work man ;)

  • Nice cover! What pick ups are in the tele? They sound nice.

  • @mtkoala

    Thanks !

This is a nocaster with the stock pick-up (so, nocaster pick-ups).

  • That's a pig, not a dog. :)

  • wonderfull!! one of the best cover solo of you tube... nice work guy!

what kind of effect, guitar and amp have you used?

  • This is an amazingly perfect rendition of the Solo

  • PLEASE MAKE A TUTORIAL!! YOU ROCK! This is just to fast for me to break down and i can't see the strings.

  • nice bro

i like that pig toooo but where are its wings

  • i live the pig in that back, nice job!

  • good good good solo man 5 stars for you and one question where can i find a pig like yours?.....xdxdxdxdxdx

  • genial jadore le cochon !!!

  • NIce!!!

  • very nice :D

  • Sounds spot on to me,very under-rated,indeed almost forgotten album"Animals" the ending absolutely astounds!

  • I have some guitar friends who claim if you're not fast, you're no good..They're fuckin' idiots...It's all about technique, technique and more technique...Anyone can play fast.

And your video proves my point..Cheers.

  • @MrFloydianSlip not so much technique as feeling. i cant play for shit, but sometimes i get in the zone, and wish i had had a recorder going. ive played thru my cassette deck a few times late at night on record, and listened back later, and was really amazed at what can happen when you just let go. sometimes ive tried to replay something i recorded and cant, despite having recorded proof that i can

  • este video esta weno los demas videos de solo son todos malos

  • Great job man and well done.

  • wow tht was fantastic a bit slower than the actual song but it sounds like you could definetley handle the full tempo

  • that was awesome... love the pig in the background

  • Awesome, great tone man..

    Rock on'

  • I wish these guys that have a talent for copying Gilmour/page/townshend/blackmore/halen....how does Gilmour rank?Is he Difficult/string bending? Is he difficult emotionally?,,,,,Where does Gilmour rank? Simple ,but stressful? You guys that make it look so easy! Clapton more difficult? Or,is Gilmour just more fun?

How would you rank Gilmours guitar style? For those that have a little knowledge of guitar playing....thrill us with

    your insights.............

  • Well, a difficult question.

Gilmour doesn't play very fast like Jimmy Page for example so in this point it might be easier to cover the Floyds' songs. But he often plays very clear and that makes it very difficult to play like him because you hear every mistake.

A lot of guitarists play with distortion, so it's not that bad if you make a mistake but Gilmour is a master of these clear melodies which are full of emotion. That's the second difficultie about his play, there's so much feel in it.

  • If you're a beginner on guitar, you shouldn't start with solos, and if you want to try soloing, please start with Clapton or so to get the feel for rhythm.

This doesn't mean, Gilmour can't play rock tunes or whatever ;)

Actually guitarists can't be compared and it depends on everyone himself what is difficult and what not. Just try, what you'd like to try and then you'll see what is easy to you.

But I'm not a guitar teacher, that's just how I feel about it.

  • @ummaguama I have found that most shredders or other guitarists who focus more on the mechanics and techniques of guitar playing simply do not sound good when they try to play slow, emotional music. Gilmour's solos aren't that technically challenging or fast, but it is very hard trying to sound as good as he does. Oh, and his string bending skill takes years to develop.

  • im jealous. you did a great job.

your pig is adorable...you should give it to me. haha

  • Hey man nice cover...one of the best songs of all time...i was hoping if you can be so kind and e-mail me the tab for this solo...i like the way it sounds

  • @Geppotheguitarwiz - Hi, unfortunatly I d'ont have the tab. I made it by ears, and sometimes using videos. I didn't check the guitar pro tab but you may find the tab of this song.

  • Great cover. May I ask which pickup you had selected?

  • @alexdldude - Hi, it was the bridge pick-up of the Nocaster.

  • Thanks! And your tone knob was somewhere in the middle right?

(I'm secretly hoping that someone will post a lesson of this solo in the near future.)

  • The tone and volume knobs were fully opened !

  • you should play the pigs...because you have the accessory:)

anyway...cool playing...the animals album is awesome.

  • nice! killer tone

what is ur set up or gear

    that distortion...blow ne up

  • I used... my computer with "Amplitube Jimi Hendrix" ! I don't really remember but I think the amp was a marshall plexi with a fuzz, and probably a rack compression.

    I love this tone too.

  • @Supercramp1

hello supercramp (love the screenname) how are you playing thru your pc?

do you plug the git into the the pc, then line out to an amp? i would love to have access to the effects available on the computer, but there is not enough air bein pumped out of the .5 watt speakers. and what program are you using?

on a side note, a pair of computer speakers that will run on a 9 volt battery makes a pretty cool clean channel walk-around amp. a 1/8"-1/4" adapter plug is all you need.

  • @edslides1 I really don't remember but i think i used Amplitube soft ("Jimi Hendrix" version), with my line6 UX1. Sometimes I use my Fender super champ XD pluged in the UX1 + cubase and it gives good results too.

  • you want to dress like gilmour but...you cant play like him..( you dont play bad )

  • great tone man :)

  • 1:08 your guitar is out of tune.

  • Great.

  • what gear are u using

  • hhhahahahaha the pig is such an awesome addition! great inside joke, lol.

  • what's that part at 0:26 with the bend

  • Yeah! I like that pig!!

  • you have my dream guitar, but nice solo!

  • I Like your pig!

    :D

  • That bit at 1:04, people, not surprisingly, don't seem to know what to do there... it is descending, yeah? No? yeah...

  • Nice, but the D at 1:10 leaves a little to be desired. And the erm... hang on.

  • Dude,What amp are you using? also are you using any pedals?

  • i love it !!!!! but could you please play it the dogs version whole step down ?

  • Actually on the clean rhythm guitar is tuned to D, the rest is in Drop D

  • not bad!

  • Excellent !

  • Nice playing. I am just wondering how long have you been playing the guitar?

  • I'm 35, I began at 16 (by myself), I took my first lessons at 29.

  • very nice pig. excellent solo. great job

  • Thanks everybody for your comments.

And I love my pig !

  • Well done, thanks.

  • Excellent! Nice pig also! ;)

  • Amazing sound and nice playing of course!

  • Nice job mate, great sound. 5 stars.

  • its not really a tele.. its a "nocaster"

  • amazing playing, and the sound of the guitar is very very soft, thanks!

  • You're in the wrong Key. The original is tuned down and played in EM so it's DM. I play it in DM but in standard Drop D tuning.

  • Super guitarist.

  • Where did you get the tabs?

  • Heard lots of guys play that are shite compared to you.

  • nice job, nice tele. What effects are you using? Delay, reverb and a litlle distorsion i guess. Sorry for the english.

  • Thanks,

I think I used "Amplitube Jimi Hendrix" (plexi + fuzz, delay ?...) or "Gearbox" with a toneport. So it is 100% digital sound !

  • Awsome!! I=Jelaous ;)

  • Thanks

  • HOW MUCH FOR THE PIG?

  • it was a gift...

  • Come on man! I'll give you a gift if you give that fucking pig. I NEED THAT PIG MAN! where can i get one?

  • In France !! We found it in a little shop in Grenoble (french alps)... cross the ocean !

  • HAHAHA!!! charade you are

  • that was so moving! Exactly what I was looking for... and needed. Thank you!

  • this is Half down Right?

  • sorry i know it i standard now... XD

  • 4.5 stars?! I don't see how anyone who would attempt this doesn't get an auto 5 stars.

  • wow that was dec

  • Hey guy, wonderfull sound! Wich amp you uses?

  • Great job, bro. Feel like tabbing the solo for me?

  • wow good job

  • j'adore le son, surtout sur les attaques...

  • where buy u pig? i love

  • amazing

  • best dogs cover i`ve seen! good work bud.

  • Thanks all for your support and comments.

  • Aahah You Got the pig Behind You !

  • hey what effects/amp and settings are you using to get that tone?

    thanks, sounds awesome : )

  • I don't really remember, sorry. It was registered with a Toneport and Amplitube.

  • dude could you help me with some tabs...im intermediate... adn i can get this whole song by hear... please help me dude ill be very Gratefull

  • very nice!

  • whoua elle est canon ta gratte t as trouvé ca ou? et c quoi la difference avec une telecaster r 52? merci j adore!!

  • La Nocaster est une replique des toutes premieres telecaster. Elle est reeditee par Fender Custom Shop

  • Hey, this is actually pretty good playing. I bet if you practiced this with a Hiwatt stack, Big Muff, and delay it would sound exactly like Animals.

Great stuff, one of the best Dogs solo covers I've seen on youtube. I'm gonna have to learn this one myself!

  • Thanks for your comment. Animals is a great PF album, with wonderful Gilmour solos and vocals. One of my favorite album ever.

  • very good...

soon I'm going to upload some videos playing some floyd stuff... hope you watch them buddy :)

  • great solo great sound awesome!

  • hey. im buying a modded squire tele with texas special and nocaster pickups. good idea?

    let me know

  • I think the limiting factor fot the sound quality comes from the weakest element which composes your instrument. If the wood is okay, if the neck is well adjusted, if the instrument is well set-up, then nocaster pick-ups could be a good idea for your tele (and so you'll hear a real improvement).

  • Beautiful. You play like Floyds. It's good. Do you think Gilmour used a Telecaster (or nocaster) for this solo?. Olivier (France)

  • Thanks Olivier. Gilmour a utilise une telecaster effectivement pour l'album animals, et donc pour ce solo en particulier.

  • I believe he said he had used a fender esquire that had a tele neck on it in a interview. Possibly the same guitar he uses for "run like hell" live??

  • ya i think i heard somewhere that he used a tele on the whole album
