This guy Wolf sums up years of observations and broken pieces of info. I learned from various sources. I new fresh presentator for a modern era. I will look for more form him!
Rabbit Starvation actually comes from not eating enough fat. Rabbits don't have a lot of body fat. Thus, eating meat that is too lean leads to "Rabbit Starvation". Usually, there needs to be an extreme cold associated with this diet. Thus, creating a need for excess calories that you are missing from low fat intake. Just because the definition says it comes from too much lean meat (in conjunction with deficiency in other nutrients), doesn't mean high protein causes it.
Guys, can anyone tell, how much protein is a lot? Cause i'm like 60 kilos(132 pounds). It's easy to avoid carbs but it's hard for me to reduce protein intake from high to low. Can high consumption of protein be the problem?
@Kravera911 eating more than 35% of your calories from protein for an extended period of time can result in a condition called rabbit starvation, and you defffinitely don't want that. 35% is pretty much the ceiling for protein intake. so in a 2000 calorie diet, 35% protein is 175 grams
absolutelly, high protein builds up normal and defective cells and these defective cells often lead to disease. Google up "autophagy" to learn how protein starvation is essential for health.
@gledalac 1979 really because i never heard that ever. would that be high build up in mad cow disease? or some disease i cant recall? i dont recall protein build up in any cell. in fact high protein in the urine is outside of the cell and is dangerous because its the kidneys job to keep it in the blood. .
Robb's podcast is the best thing that has happened to me since I met my man!! After ending up in hospital for anaemia, I quit being a vegetarian after 12 years and went Paleo and within 6 months I leaned out, had no more stomach pain, cured my ulcers and anaemia.
I also noticed that almost every person who thinks this is crazy or a fad is visibly unhealthy or taking Rx meds daily!!
@sakatush let me ask, what was the unspoken promise of eating a vegitarian diet, was it a medical cure or good healh? how did you fall into this trap? for me, i went paleo on a promise of an incurable rhumatoid arthritis cure that shortens a mans life by 15 years. PS. i feel cured. and my vision is improving its where i was 15 years ago.
@sakatush your right paleo isnt about tasty food , its about getting well, and staying alive. i used to hurt so bad i dont know how or why i did not kill myself. if i eat the wrong thing its a terrible reminder to eat strict paleo. now my goal is to help others.
Some of things I have observed while following a high fat/low carb diet: The higher the ketosis (within reason, I am non diabetic so dka is not a problem)=the better I feel, less hunger, better sense of well being, more energy, less cravings, to name a few. I have heard people say that if they are in ketosis, the level does not matter, that is definitely NOT the case for me. The ketogenic diet for me is hard at first, it takes me about 3 weeks just to feel normal. I also limit water & protein.
@xsugarcrispx Well when I eat lots of fat, I get more thirsty. Fat makes the cell more rigid and decreases water. I find alose aload of water when I go on a mega fat diet, no carb diet, some protein. why would not drinking water whilst eating fat be a problem? The body uses fat for fuel but the water is for hydration. Alot of people on cooked fats look dried up... I wonder why.

@Kravera911 High protein and not enough fat can release insulin and kick u out of ketosis. If you have to have alot of protein, up the fat more.

@sakatush Get around 110 to 145 grams of protein if you're male. around 100 for female for your weight
Issaquan5 6 months ago
@Issaquan5 thats only 400-600 calories are you sure thats enough, after all protein is fuel not just a building block.

@sakatush It's funny how people think this is a recent fad when, in fact, it has been around for millions of years.

Atkins invented his diet for Diabetics. He just noticed that the ketogenic diet caused weight loss.

@knarfster He didn't actually invent the diet.

@tickyul Are you back on the ketogenic diet yet? Why did you limit water?
Catherine8raw 1 year ago
@Catherine8raw well without thinking, water and fats don't go well together so if your eating a heavy fat diet, limiting your water would make sense?
