FFVII will not be remade. or if it is it'll be hacked up and Rebooted. But it won't be anytime soon considering SE Doesn't ahve anymore. Eidos had to pull their fat out of the frier.

I never played the Original FFVII Game. But at least I have FF, FFII, and FFIV on PSP, and FFXIII on PS3...It's better than nothing, really...I'm even waiting for KH3 for crying out loud!

I love how the music gets really foreboding when the camera pans past the ShinRa building and show the whole of Midgar. When I beat Crisis, I thought, 'that outfit ain't in VII..' and thought if anything, he's got a 2nd Class outfit on, because it was purple. But when I saw Cloud on the train at 1:06, and his hand at 1:11, I thought 'SHIT YEAH, SON!" I teehee'd like a little bitch. So what?
They LOVE teasing us with better looking versions of that damn opening. It burns so good, though. lol
They're not remaking it because they say it'll cost too much money to remake - though they'd make DOUBLE of that because everybody is a fan of Final Fantasy 7, and EVERYBODY would buy the game.

Final Fantasy actually ISN'T coming out for the PS3 -- Square just made it so that they could show people what the graphics on the PS3 could look like. I was depressed when i found that out though :( i was looking forward to it!
@tif9123 well technically it's still not secret the only reason it's after the credits is to show there has been time since Crisis Core and 7, they might not even remake 7 there is no proof this doesn't show anything cos they remade the opening scene just shows that if you want to follow the story that this is next.
@tif9123 Just thought I'd let you know if no one else has told you: Square is not making a PS3 version of VII because they'd have to start from scratch. Maybe when vsXIII, XIII-2, and Type-0 are done they'll make it but not now.

but you have to understand that the FF7 tech demo for PS3 was rendered real-time (in-game graphics)... while this crisis core cutscene was pre-rendered CG (video file)... the tech demo's still impressive since its real-time graphics are almost as good as pre-rendered CG..
I see, well that does make the tech demo impressive, but this one just feels like it had more time to put into what they're showing. If the in-game graphics were as good as the tech demo, it would be the greatest game ever made

i dvd disk with the teck demo i played it on a Xbox360 ps no it wasnt a blueray disk it was a 20g disk. i see... but it will be a shame if they make the re-make just to make money for the ps3 because then they would want it out as fast as posible making crappy they should take it slow in that case so it become as good as it can be. but as i said i should wait untill further news.

Well actually, when I mean the xbox 360 can't handle the tech demo, I mean it doesn't have the power to handle it. The tech demo was made to show off the cell processor's capabilities in graphics and scale. And the best part about it is it was rushed. So the quality could've been better. Maybe close to the crisis core's secret ending. When have we seen an impressive demo like this one running on an xbox 360? None. So it can't handle the demo. Not a remake. Not final fantasy XIII.
I don't accept a possible final fantasy VII remake to be multipaltform for various reasons. One reason is so it could sell more playstation 3s (you know they're third right?). Second is to reduce a chance of delay (final fantasy XIII was delayed because of the xbox 360 port). Third a port would be a waste of time (final fantasy XIII won't be released to the us and europe until they finish the xbox 360 version, thus delaying the playstation 3 version). Lots of reasons.

Actually, the graphics on the xbox 360 version is identical to the playstation 3 version. So the graphics could've been better on the playstation 3.
To be honest, the graphics didn't impress me as much as other exclusives, like heavy rain, uncharted 2, ratchet and clank, final fantasy versus XIII, etc. It never did in the first place.

Yeah, because nintendo didn't provide the appropiate game storage to develop final fantasy VII. They switched because the playstation provided the technology to create the game. But with final fantasy XIII, it's kind of reversed.

They eventually settled with the PS1 because they could put the game into a few discs for it to work. With a Nintendo 64 you can't program a game like that...
that would be because a blueray disk holds 50g but that has nothing to do with the consule.... anyway you dont like the 360 np but if there will be a re-make for final fantasy VII it would sell better if it came out for both Xbox360 and ps3 lol imagion it for wii.....
It's not just disk space, it's the system's capabilities as well. Besides, bluray has a massive advantage in game development. Without it, games like metal gear solid 4, killzone 2, infamous, etc wouldn't be possible to be made.

You can say that to all games. But that's not a good reasos for it to be multiplatform. The point is if people really want a remake,
it would be best for it to stay as a playstation 3 exclusive. That way people can experience the game at it's fullest quality and have the same feel of playing a final fantasy game on a playstation console.
If people play the game on the xbox 360 (hopefully not), people are going to start critizising it. Maybe critiszing about how it doesn't provide the same VII feel or something like that. People would critisize it for the simple fact that's it's on the WRONG system.

People really need to shut up about wanting playstation 3 exclusives to their system. There are far too many multiplatform titles in the market. The xbox 360 can't handle final fantasy XIII. Because the game will use almost 100% of the playstation 3's capabilities, according to kitase. The xbox 360 version is likely to be downgraded and come in multiple disks.

this aint gunna be out anytime soon... crisis core was the 10th anniversary so the remake will be either the 15th anniversary or 20th, so thats 2012 or 2017... a teaser for a game which the console will already be oudated for that time.

There is one slight problem. All the new Final Fantasy games are being placed on the 360 since it's so popular compared to the PS3. As a PlayStation fan and a Final Fantasy fan, I fear Square-Enix may put the Final Fantasy VII remake on the 360. I just hope that's not true.

Depends on them really. I think a mutli-console release would be amazing because it'd open it up to people who may of never of played it before. This remake, if in fact is made will be up their with XIII in terms of production costs, so it would be a way to make up for it.
We don't know if they will make an FFVII remake or not. They're not talking about it. And besides, every FFVII game has been on a PS console. FFVII for PS1, Dirge Of Cerberus on PS2, Crisis Core on PSP. So if they did remake FFVII, it would make sense to put it on the PS3.

but you have to understand that the FF7 tech demo for PS3 was rendered real-time (in-game graphics)... while this crisis core cutscene was pre-rendered CG (video file)... the tech demo's still impressive since its real-time graphics are almost as good as pre-rendered CG..

i dvd disk with the teck demo i played it on a Xbox360 ps no it wasnt a blueray disk it was a 20g disk. i see... but it will be a shame if they make the re-make just to make money for the ps3 because then they would want it out as fast as posible making crappy they should take it slow in that case so it become as good as it can be. but as i said i should wait untill further news.

Well actually, when I mean the xbox 360 can't handle the tech demo, I mean it doesn't have the power to handle it. The tech demo was made to show off the cell processor's capabilities in graphics and scale. And the best part about it is it was rushed. So the quality could've been better. Maybe close to the crisis core's secret ending. When have we seen an impressive demo like this one running on an xbox 360? None. So it can't handle the demo. Not a remake. Not final fantasy XIII.

I don't accept a possible final fantasy VII remake to be multipaltform for various reasons. One reason is so it could sell more playstation 3s (you know they're third right?). Second is to reduce a chance of delay (final fantasy XIII was delayed because of the xbox 360 port). Third a port would be a waste of time (final fantasy XIII won't be released to the us and europe until they finish the xbox 360 version, thus delaying the playstation 3 version). Lots of reasons.

Actually, the graphics on the xbox 360 version is identical to the playstation 3 version. So the graphics could've been better on the playstation 3.
To be honest, the graphics didn't impress me as much as other exclusives, like heavy rain, uncharted 2, ratchet and clank, final fantasy versus XIII, etc. It never did in the first place.

It's not because of the girl actually... It's cause from the videos I've seen I didn't like that they used guns more in the ff13 and versus looked cool with the guy controlling the swords.

Yeah, because nintendo didn't provide the appropiate game storage to develop final fantasy VII. They switched because the playstation provided the technology to create the game. But with final fantasy XIII, it's kind of reversed.

@JustFollowinMyHeart Umm... Dude It was planned to be on the 64, then they realized that The 64 wouldn't be able to handle the game because it had too much memory for it, or something like that. They eventually settled with the PS1 because they could put the game into a few discs for it to work. With a Nintendo 64 you can't program a game like that...

It's not just disk space, it's the system's capabilities as well. Besides, bluray has a massive advantage in game development. Without it, games like metal gear solid 4, killzone 2, infamous, etc wouldn't be possible to be made.

it would be best for it to stay as a playstation 3 exclusive. That way people can experience the game at it's fullest quality and have the same feel of playing a final fantasy game on a playstation console.
If people play the game on the xbox 360 (hopefully not), people are going to start critizising it. Maybe critiszing about how it doesn't provide the same VII feel or something like that. People would critisize it for the simple fact that's it's on the WRONG system.

The xbox 360 can't handle final fantasy XIII. Because the game will use almost 100% of the playstation 3's capabilities, according to kitase. The xbox 360 version is likely to be downgraded and come in multiple disks.
It's a joke to port games as big as final fantasy XIII to an inferior system.
If a remake was announced to be multiplatform (which I hope not), how on earth can the xbox 360 handle the opening? There's a reason why they called a "technology demonstration".

Good news - SE say they would love to make FF7 Remake, but only with the ppl who made the original.
Bad news - These ppl are all doing different projects that they can't stop working on.
Kick in the balls bad news - Some are working on FF Vs. 13, which won't be out til 2011/12 EARLIEST, so that's the earliest that work can even BEGIN on an FF7 remake, so basically it'll probably arrive 2013/14 earliest :'(.

yes, this is the cutscene you see at the end of crisis core
it is where the original Final Fantasy VII starts, where Cloud is the main hero
in 2005, a final fantasy 7 tech demo for PS3 was released. it was a remake of the opening scene of the original final fantasy 7
in 2007, crisis core was released. the cutscene at the end looks quite similar to the PS3 demo, but half of it had major changes

I think the remake of ffvii on ps3 is just a rumor, it'll never happen and if it does it'll be nothing like the original. They have to change something other than the graphics for "the next generation".

At the same time, preserving the main storyline.
Debates and discussion are still going on bout its "changes frm the original VII" to link crisis core to the new ff7.

There is one slight problem. All the new Final Fantasy games are being placed on the 360 since it's so popular compared to the PS3. As a PlayStation fan and a Final Fantasy fan, I fear Square-Enix may put the Final Fantasy VII remake on the 360. I just hope that's not true.
