Well just because he said it doesn't mean it's true, could have also been said because of relations going sour between Aston and Rita after Bob's passing. Just ask yourself what's more important, Marley's lyrics and message, or the Wailer's music in which it was delivered.

I think this is not true. Because Bob Marley in the Original Wailers did just fine back by the Skatalites with like "Simmer Down".  And if it was true then I'm sure the Wailers would've been able to find sucsess with another front man.

Its true cause no one really knows what really happen carly and fams gave wailers a new sound cause they were doing good with the upsetters band before wailers. If you know the history you wouldn't think its not true.

I do know the history and Bob, Peter, and Bunny were already popular backed by the skatalites before joining up with the upsetters for the Soul Rebel sessions. And it was the promoting of Island records that popularized Bob internationaly, although Fams and the wailers were a huge part of it,.

@rollingrok because fams knows the basslines and dont need to rehearse i would say. and yes, fams arranged and produced most of the wailers work from 1973 onwards.
