It's so annoying how Daisy couldn't wait for such a wonderful man as Gatsby. Made me cry when Gatsby kept asking her why she didn't wait for him and she says because rich girls don't marry poor boys. =( In a way she killed him by not waiting and marrying Tom.
I love the song that goes to this. How classic. The Great Gatsby is my favorite book and I loved the movie as well. Good job on this. My favorite line is still "It makes me sad because I've never seen such beautiful shirts before." lol
The Great Gatsby is a story about identity, the American dream, second chances, and the impossibility of repeating the past. GG wonderfully describes the roaring 20's. Despite some reviews,RR offers an interesting take on the enigmatic millionaire JG. Not only RR is good looking (as always) but also enigmatic, mysterious and even aloof. In the novel, Daisy is flirtatious and in the film M. Farrow is more fragile but she portrays well Daisy.Despite some weaknesses, the result is generally good

when she touches and smells HIS SHIRTs I go crazy. I'm gonna smell myself (also wash, STARCH/STIFFen , iron, etc) sum1 else's not in North America but further South. 1st I'm gonna try my luck with E. AMERICAn R. LAUREN (coZ I'm gonna get him to quit making a fool of himself)
I've just learnt that Mr. Robert Redford likes (Polo) Ralph LAUREN fashion, or even the designer was inspired by Redford's allure, CLASS. It had 2 b an American (not Brit/Uk) GENT that the brand was geared-to/inspired-by. Then, the designer found the ARGENTINE other GENT= Ignacio Figueras 2 advertise most stuff. Can you imagine getting emotional to the point of tears over a well tailored men's shirt? Daisy was fascinated by the finer things that Gatsby owned and fell in love with that, not him.
You think? To be honest, I reckon she'd been surrounded by that kind of wealth all her life to go that crazy about shirts alone. I think she's so emotional as it is just dawning on her, that the point of all of Gatsby's extravegance is just to impress her.
It s sad =[ but he only thought it was Gatsby because of the car. She was hit by the yellow car, which Tom was originally driving. But then Tom was confronted by Wilson, he told him that Gatsby had owned he car and that it was all his doing. Even more upsetting, Daisy was actually the one behind the wheel who hit Myrtle and decided not to stop, not Gatsby. It was a wrongful death on many levels. Still one of my favorite books of all time though.
Wilson was a victim in this. He just found out that his wife was cheating on him and then she gets killed in a hit and run. He was hysterical. Tom and Daisy are to blame for Gatsby's death. And possibly you could say Nick had something to do with it, because he didn't tell someone the truth before Gatsby was shot.
Why would he do that though? He would've crushed Gatsby by turning Daisy in to the police. Besides, Gatsby and Daisy would've lied and Gatsby would have taken the blame. No, the only people at fault here are Daisy and Tom.
@captainsmith1 the very rich are not like you and I. There are places, that are Ok before the rich come. Then they come, and their glamour changes that place, some say it makes it more, others less. Then, inevitably, they go, and the place may or may not return to what it was. But you, have been there, are never the same.
