  • those old string made me thing ur playing on fretless bass at first. what kind of string are they? awesome playing by the way.

    -Max

  • AWSOME

  • Great tone! Can I ask you how you installed that chrome pickup cover though? I'm planning on installing one on my bass, but I have no idea how. Well know I'm supposed to drill holes, but I'm worried I'll hit wirings or something important.

  • wow very nice :)

  • Mighty fine pickin Brother great work .......

  • @outofthinair1 Thanks Bro, that's really kind of you! :D

  • Nice cover.

  • Hey, that's jut too nice. :)

    Thanks! :)

  • Sade's bass player was the coolest looking dude on the planet.............was.

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @love24k Thanks a lot. :) I love this song.

  • thanks a lot

this has really helped me a hell of a lot in trying to learn the bass on this song -especially for the "coast to coast.." bit which is so hard to hear on the original song.

dig your style and you've added your own touch to this which is always cool too

    thanks again

  • @laatideon I'm happy to help you. :) Unfortunately I never make tabs - that would really help a lot to those who want to learn these songs, but if you need further help, I can send you the mp3 file which is mixed to this video, it has better quality. Anyway, thanks for the nice comment, and have fun playing your bass! :)

  • the guitar sounds nice

  • nice

  • sick

  • damn this is one of my favourite songs evr! so sexy! Good JOB!

  • Nice playing. Sade's bassist used a Stingray with treble rolled off. If you roll off the treble on your MM, it will sound closer to the Stingray tone although the J, with single coil pickups, will never sound like the Stingray.

  • nice

  • amazing keep up the good work!!!

  • Very good. Anywhere I can find tabs for this?

  • Issmét csak gratulálni tudok ! :D hova valósi vagy ? SZép játék ! :)

  • Real nice!

  • great playing but im not sure about your choice of tone...I mean for this kind of stuff I'd use a deeper darker tone, for my tastes your tone is too bright. Whenever I play some smooth jazz i pull off the tone control completely off and pull in more lows

  • There's such thing as a sexy bassline now?

  • It seems like there is... :-D

    I was surprised as well.

  • very good!!!!

  • Imádom a jazz bass-ek bridge soundját!

  • i had the same exact question.... can u install bridge and pickup covers in fender jazz basses if they never had them to begin with??

  • great cover to a great song. just wondering about the pickup cover over the bridge pickup. can u install these on a fender p-bass that never had one to begin with?

  • well, I guess you could... but you would have to make two holes into the body, which is, well, not recommended... :-)

  • men i have a question, a play guitar and bass, tho im great at guitar a also like bass it's fun to play, i dunno what is the name of that thing that covers your bass first pickup, i've heard that is called a cover pickup but i couldn't find any information about it, what difference does it makes?does it sounds better? or helps you to get a grip on the bass easier? pliz answer i'm killing myself fto know

  • You modified it from the original a bit which is natural. It is different but it works. Good job. Thank you for posting. I have been practicing half way and stopped..you may have motivated me to do it to night.

  • Thank! That's very nice of you! :-)

  • Well, I can't remember... i read it somewhere on the net... :D

  • Where did you find out that this was chosen the sexiest bassline by women? ;D

  • Very nice sound and feel, thank you!

  • No... thank YOU! :-D

    peace man

  • Good job! Great playing!

  • Outstanding job HunBassman.

You have inspired me to work on details more.

    Fred

  • hey, phantastic playing and a great inspiration to learn this wonderful piece myself

  • thanks!

I am looking forward to see your cover! Post it! :D

    cheers

  • Nice work, I like it. I'm a fan of this bass player in the album. Paul Denman. I think he plays a Musicman.

  • Yes, he's got a nice Musicman. :D
