This is the bedroom scene where I believe you can maybe tell that they are connected in real life. It's by the tender way he gently touches her forehead and hair with his fingers. I'm not sure that would have come naturally from an actor who was not emotionally connected to the actress. Never mind the staged sex scenes (which they are comfortable with), for me this little gesture speaks volumes.

I think a book and a television show are two different mediums. Im doing what I think is the best way to turn that story into a television show. Also, if I just stuck to the books, there would be no surprises. You could go pick up the books anywhere and know exactly what was coming.
