  • REFORM IS NOT JUDAISM!!!!!!

  • I am in the process of converting to Judaism under the auspices of the Reform. I am very happy as the people are so real and not stuffy like the Orthodox ones.

  • And we wonder why Hitler came precisely from Germany? "Germans first Jews second?" Then G-D sent Hitler to remind some of you NOOO, you will never be Germans, or Americans, or anything else besides Jews. A Zebra is a Zebra no matter how much it tries to cover up its strips.

  • Reform Judaism considers the Hebrew Bible as being man made. Traditional Judaism can not stand if the Torah or Tanach were not considered Divine. Reform Jews profane the Hebrew Bible by saying that it is not Divine. They are a bunch of heretical Jews that 99% of them don't know what is up or down in traditional Judaism. They come together for social and political reasons, and in a couple of generations they assimilate fully in the liberal non-Jewish population.

  • Interesting film. I've never actually met a jew in England which is quite unfortunate.

Are they all concentrated in London? Where are they?

  • The Reform Jews are a large part in the USA. Their following of halahka is less stringent. They do follow kashrut and shabbat. They are not nuts like the Othodox who so judgmental about everyone just like the southern baptists. We decide which is important to us in following G-d.

  • @hineni53 Actually driving to the beach (or anywhere for that matter) on Shabb-t is not "Keeping Shabb-t". Also who are you to decide what is important in following G-D? I mean what if I "decide" that not murdering is not such a big deal. Maybe I'll make an exception and decide to murder you today, would that then be allowed since "I decided" to to follow that prohibition today?

  • @extazy17 The Torah was written by men who were inspired by G-d. The latest scientific studies indicate that the Torah was written by different people at different times.

  • @hineni53 If you dont believe in the Torah of G-D, and you are a gentile, then what will you be "converting" to? Someone not born to a Jewish mother and who doesn't believe and follow the Torah is not Jewish. Plain and simple. Why are you in the process of "converting" to something you don't believe in? Anyway reform "Judaism" is not Judaism and what you will be converting to is not Judaism, and you are not and won't be Jewish.

  • I don't get Reform Judaism! If you don't want to have kashrut, shabbat, no-woman Rabbi's, and basically "change everything" then why the hell are you Jewish? I could understand why you might think a woman should be a Rabbi, however God clearly opposes most of the Reform practices (via the Torah). So, if you believe in extreme liberalism then perhaps you should be a deist or an atheist. It's absolutely absurd to go against what God says and delude yourself into what he really thinks. Respond plz

  • @Eragon1880 You know why? Becuase of the guilty conscious AND needing a platform to bring other Jews down as well. If the reform "rabbis" in the beginning would have just stated that they are athiests and want to break all the rules, very very few would follow them. BUT what they have done is to essentially delete, ignore and/or twist the laws one by one, generation by generation that they have come to a point of total Kefira and precisely openly doing exactly the opposite of what G-D commands.

  • the difference between reform jews and Christians - the reform jews- do what you want dont belive in god or the tora just call yourself jewish

Christians - do what you want just belive in jesus

  • wanna know my vision for reform judaism? it going away. nebuch

  • reform jews are not real jews.

in israel u will not find reform jews.

  • There are a growing number of Reform congregations in Israel, allowing Israelis to make a a choice for themselves.

"not real Jews"? It seems your understanding of what is a Jew might differ from Jewish tradition and Jewish law.

  • @yon295 What constitutes a person being a Real Jew?

  • @themadwoman1 The Halacha (Jewish law)- which states- a person's mother being Jewish, OR someone converting properly under a proper Beit Din (which definitely excludes reform, "conservative, reconstruction, or any other unqualified court, especially those that brazenly ignore and break the rulings of the previous high court- the Sanhedrin and its applications as collected in the writings of the Talmud).

  • @extazy17 Thats good then as on my Father's side all were jewish and on my Mother's side her mother was Jewish so that makes my Mother Jewish and so me.Thankyou

  • @yon295 There is no one way to be Jewish

Reform Judaism is the most beautiful thing i have ever been apart of and they accept so many people into the community..And that can only make the Jewish people stronger.

  • @j90brit "Make the Jewish people stronger" ? HOW ? Seriously reform "Judaism" allows assimilation and intermarriage that is destroying more of the Jewish population then Hitler. Just look at the statistics, more Jews are disappearing in the silent Holocaust of assimilation then the physical Holocaust made by Hitler. Hitler destroyed the body, reform is destroying the souls of Jews. Also reform is at war agains't G-D, preaching kefira and how is fighting G-D any good?

  • @yon295 Actually some of them are Jews (halahically) while a growing number of them are not. People who say they are converts to reform "Judaism" are not Jewish. Also those with Jewish fathers but not Jewish mother's aren't Jewish, yett they might call themselves Jewish.

  • @extazy17 Who the hell are you to make such assertions. Are you G-d, you don't talk like him

  • @mushakal Um, Screw You.

  • Those kids are adorable :-)

  • Comment removed

  • These kids in the beginning have superficial or spoonfed reasons for "liking judaism"

They like the food, the festivals, or "the synagog is the best one. The best play to...um...pray"

  • They're just little kids. Too young to really understand what Judaism is and what being part of the religion really means. They'll learn.

  • You're right kids are too young to know what it means, but they're not too young to be indoctrinated with whatever they're told. Its a good thing they're feeding these kids constructive life skills

  • I don't know where you got the idea he said the Jews would never go back to Israel. He stated that the temple would be destroyed and raised in three days (referring to his body), and Herod's temple was indeed destroyed a few decades later. The Christian Bible teaches that Jews would indeed return to Israel. You can ask many fundamentalist Christians.

  • Please visit Torahanytime (.)com to watch and listin to many great Torah lectures. Great Rabbi's including Rabbi Mizrachi, Rabbi Wallerstein, and much much more, Believe me you wont want to miss it.

    Kol Tov (all the best)

  • Formidable

  • This is touching, this gives me even more reason to convert to Judaism.

  • @ScorpioAndPluto89 If you "convert" to reform, you are NOT converting to Judaism. In fact if your a gentile you have a greater portion in the world to come then these reform "leaders" and soo-called "rabbis". All you need to do is to follow the 7 Noahide Laws as given to Moshe on Mt. Sinai. Google it, and follow it. No need to become Jewish, certainly not part of the fake movements known as reform, reconstruction, etc.

  • Garbage; if self-inspiration was valid we'd need no prophets. They're turning Shabbat into a singles minglery; Judaism is not the house of feel goodery, it's stapled by law. They spent 8 minutes talking about fulfilling needs, 10 seconds talking about Judaism, and 0 talking about Torah. All of this makes me very sad.

  • A woman rabbi is acceptable because that is the rational and liberal way of reflecting gods revelation.

  • Did you know that Yahushuah was crucified and died physically on the Passover? thus He became not only the sacrificial lamb given for the sins of many but also just like in the times of Mosheh when all Yisraelites had the blood of an unblemished lamb on their doorposts, His blood covers everyone's beings (Doorposts = Hearts and Souls) as a sign so that the great judgement (angel of death) will "Pass-over" us in these end-times Yahushuah HaMashiach is the Passover Lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7)

  • this is filth

  • Reform God, the supernatural and superstition out of Judaism and you're onto a winner.

  • Reform Judaism? In the UK is that the same as Liberal Judaism?

  • Sort of.

The terms reform, liberal, progressive, enlightened, and modern in the context of Judaism all mean the same thing. Dif organizations have attached dif terms to their name. The name, in these cases, rep the values the movement is based on, but the organizations have carried out these basic values dif. So theres the URJ reform Judaism in N.America, Liberal and also a Reform Judaism in the UK. Progressive is used elsewere and for the World Union 4 Prog Jud wich is the umbrella for all.

  • Not exactly. In UK you have Liberal Judaism and Reform Judaism. Both are forms of progressive Judaism, but Reform is slightly more conservative than Liberal.

  • This ignorance is also unfortunately within the reform movement itself. And they shall have to undergo a spiritual renewal if they seek the truth and righteousness's of proper faith.

  • When Judaism was started it was a reform.

When the Torah was given it was a reform.

When the oral law was develped it was a reform.

Israel, Halacha, Theories, Holidays, Practices, they are all reforms.

If proper Judaism is built on one tradition than it is reforming Judaism to best reflect the core truth of the divine 5 books of moses.

The religious reactionaries making up orthodox Judaism attack reform Judaism out of ignorance, and an intolerance ingrained in their value system.

  • funny

  • I was a fool to have expected a comment not entrenched in hostility. I suppose my expectations were a bit high, thinking that people on youtube could have a rational, respectful debate without throwing insults around. It is not worth my time. have a good day

  • ...and shame on you for using a quote by Chaim Potok to promote hatred for one group of Jews- especially taken out of context. That was never his intention. Most of his novels dealt with acceptance of those who were different, especially the branches within Judaism.

  • I'm sorry. Your right. Just because I believe something different than others doesn't mean I have to say that its bad. I just didn't like the way that they were "advertising" Judaism. And your right. I was stupid to use a quote by Chaim Potok. I am extremely sorry to those I might have hurt, and you Smrgol234. I hope you accept this apology.

  • It's all right, no worries. It's really nice of you to apologize, I know things said online shouldn't be taken too personally... I think we all tend to get caught up in it (myself included). Take care! :)

  • True, Reform Judaism is a different theology than Orthodox and Conservative. If you don't like it, then fine- you don't have to attack those who do. If you look at the comments, none of the Reform Jews are doing any of the attacking. I don't see what you get out of calling Reform Jews 'non-Jews' and leaving hostile comments. peace

  • To reply to this, I will use a quote from "The Chosen" by Chaim Potok, "I would rather live in a land of true goys, than a land of Jewish goys."

  • I didn't say that Reform Jews are 'non-Jews'. They can believe in whatever they want but I was just saying that they changed the religion of Judaism a bit. If that is a good or bad thing is somebodies opinion. If you think it is a good thing and you are Reform then good for you and if you believe that it is a bad thing, it is non of your business to care what somebody believes in. Sorry if I offended anybody with my previous comment.

  • I'm sorry, I didn't mean your comment specifically. I meant such comments as "the smell of hell reeks from Reform Synagogues" which was posted awhile ago; and more recent ones such as the ever so eloquent "Reform Judaism sucks," and "your Jewish wannabees", etc.

  • Comment removed

  • Reform Judaism sucks. You beleive that people can just ignore what's in the Torah, the Holiest Book, and pick and choose mitzvot. Your not Jews. "Reform" and Jewish" can never go together. YOUR JEWISH WANNABEES!

  • My Rabbi is on this film!

  • I have heard and would like to know from someone "Jewish" if the Talmud teaches that no sin is incurred to a "Jew" if the wrong doing is against a non "jew".

  • why don't ppl who follow the Jewish religion sacrifice lambs anymore or at lest not in America well not that I've seen anyway I'm sure they may be doing it still but I haven't seen any slaughtering of lambs how come?

  • As usual, the comments on a youtube video are unnecessarily mean-spirited, due to the feeling that 'oh it's the internet, I'm totally anonymous.' I can't say I'm surprised. How does saying 'the smell of hell reeks from reform synagogues' provide any sort of constructive argument for or against the reform movement?!

  • Reform Judaism is a graveyard of Judaism. All over the Western Hemisphere you can find synagogues with ghosts for members: Curacao, St.Thomas, Barbados, Jamaica, Panama. In less than 100 years, Reform Jews will be extinct and only Orthodox will exist.

  • The reform are the sellouts, they are the ones who most intermarry, eat the most pork, and debauch the most before marriage. Most of them don't even read the Torah, let alone believe in it.

  • the scent of hell reeks from reform synagogues...

  • when you start changing something perfect, inperfection creeps in - with my eyes i can see the imperfection screaming from this video - there is no point getting it half right and trying again - get it right the first time, even if it is difficult.

  • I believe if it wasnt for Reform Judaism, some would leave the Jewish faith all together. Is that what we prefer??? Clearly not.

  • Reform Judaism is the cause of the fall out!! Most of those who fall out today were born into reform!!

Reform judaism lacks Torah and spirituality. To fill in this lack, Reform Jews, even Conservative Jews, fill in the gap of fulfillment with Holocaust reverence (they worship and glorify the holocaust. In orthodox synagogues, you never hear the word holocaust, and may never hear it, not do we have memorals and give all our money to the dead) and Zionism and Israel worship.

  • FYI, Reform Judaism embraces Zionism today. When Moses Mendelsohn was alive, science and politics were quite primitive, let alone the development of Nazisim, the Holocaust and modern ideas of national identity. Reform....reforms with the times, as Judaism has since the days of the Judges.

  • there is no such thing as reform judaism- you either follow the torah or not, reforms do not.

  • Who elected you G-D?

  • Go to Boro Park, go to Clapton Commons, got to Mea Shearim, go to Bnei Berak, go to Williamsberg!!

True Torah Jews preserve Torah. unadulterated Torah is followed by those who do not drive on Shobbos, eat no pig, Keep Kosher, LEARN TALMUD

  • "Go to Boro Park, go to Clapton Commons, got to Mea Shearim, go to Bnei Berak, go to Williamsberg!!"

Been there, brother. This is *a* form of Judaism, but who elected you Kohen HaGadol"? You assume lack of knowledge...I assume progress is inherently Jewish, from the Prophets and Judges to the Reform Movement today.

RamBam was considered a radical reformer in his day. TORAH IS STILL BEING WRITTEN IN THE LIFE OF OUR PEOPLE.

We are ONE PEOPLE. Trouble your own house, inherit the wind.

  • reform judaism is a failed attempt to try and disregard halacha while still calling yourself "jewish", note the quotations

  • Failed? Who judges? You? Orthodox is in shap fecline, Conservative is static, and Reform is by far the largest tendency in organized Judaism in America.

Mutual respect is called for -- there has always been 'reform' in Judaism.

  • There is a lesson to learn why Elohim tested Abraham by commanding him to sacrifice his only son - because the Covenant GOD made with Abraham and his seedline was confirmed by this act of trustworthyness, obedience and Love towards our creator.

  • Did you know that YAHUSHUA, or Jesus as the christians call him, died during on the passover as the passover-lamb for all mankind? thus.. just like in the time of Mosheh when all the children of Yisra'el had the blood of an unblemished lamb on their doorposts to avoid the angel of death - so shall it come to pass once again to the whole world - YAHUSHUA's blood on our "doorposts" (bodies & souls) redeems us from the judgement of this world and from death into Life!

  • liar >.>

  • Better than the "Union Prayer Book" days, but much of the "appeal to the young" now presented mirrors our youth - of Dylan & folk music, and doesn't meet the "goth" youth of today's youth culture. We live inside a bubble where the myth that there are few poor Jews in America is rarely even discussed.

  • I discovered this video when perusing the Movement web site, and really enjoyed it.

However, although I realise the importance of the movement and its 2020 Vision that looks to the young, I was disappointed that it gave the opinion that the reform movement is just for the young.

As a 62 year old man embrassing the reform movement, I would like to see what it is doing about the more middle aged and perhaps more elderly members also.
