  • Damn girls are just screaming to be screaming. Can hardly hear the music because of it. Lot of fights start like that at concerts. One gets tired of listening to some girl screaming just for attention. How can you ever truely listen and feel the music with that bullshit going on. STFU and listen.

  • THE VERY BEST!!!!!

  • you got too feel that

  • James Brown - Justin Bieber ...your choice...

  • James Brown was THE BEST.

BTW ... does anybody remember Wayne Cochran? He was a white James Brown ... blonde hair and all. His band was the C.C. Riders. He did the same things James Brown did. LOL ... he was pretty good, too.

  • JB used to smoke but it sho' didn't affect them lungs. damn.

  • This is probably the greatest performance of all time

  • James Brown is the man. I love dancing to James Brown songs. He really lets it rip.

  • this guy was not human.

  • James was one badarss heart and soul feelin muthafuka damn you can feel the pain and strength in his soul when he belts his heart out I seriously love his art

  • i wish i was born in this time. . .

  • Listen at all the Beckys fallin slap apart over that silky goodness.

  • I used to go see James and his Famous Flames at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco back in the 1960's. He had this thing where he would throw the mic stand and make it dangle at the end of the stage, then he'd jerk it back like a yo yo.

I'll miss James Brown, a true original.

  • Mr Dynamite, King of Soul, God Father of Soul, The Hardest Working Man in Showbiz

James Brown... I just called him The Greatest Musical Showman of all Time... That pretty much sums it up for me! Saw him live in Tulsa about 68 06 still kicking it, pumping it, screaming it, singing it.... phenomenal, that would be the one, the only James Brown! No. 1

  • Saw James in Boston in '65, what a showman. That was when he was known as "Mr Dynamite" long before the "Godfather of Soul."

  • such incredible stage presence...

  • @soulmziklova check cab calloway reefer man, james imitated his movements as well.

  • GREAT!!!!!

  • WHY WHY WHY is embedding disabled by request?!? It's the only disappointing thing about this video!

  • @soulmziklova Good god how old are you ?

  • james never half-assed anything did he?! lol

  • the best one

    ^^

  • just Fantastic...!!!!

  • wow he finished the song that time lol. what a performer!

  • nice hair style

  • please please please vuelve a cantar para nosotros james....una ultimo tema

  • Where does that voice come from? Brilliant!!

  • @soulmziklova you're right...you should be sorry! I just wish I could watch a James Brown video without seeing insulting comments about Michael Jackson:(

  • we luv ya James.....

  • Hommage to James Brown the baddest, most dynamic Soul Man ever. Nobody could sing and dance like him..

  • one of the original screamers! a showman to the core

  • I WANT A JAMES BROWN MOVIE :D

  • @Blackjesus3 Eddie Murphy pretty much played James Brown in Dreamgirls.

  • he olmost doing nothing. but you can see and feel the POWER in his voice and performance. simply GREAT!

  • Thank you, this is my favorite James Brown video, by far. Every time I watch it it makes me crazy lol. Cheers!!!

  • hellooooooooo dear host.... DAMN you look sexy hahaah

  • No live show I've ever gone to in my life could EVER top James Brown when I saw him in the 70s. LHM!

  • PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mr Brown was Ill but refused to not be onhand for his annual Holiday Turkey give away for the needy. He died Christmas eve night or early Christmas day.The hardest working man in show business wouldn't stop giving even though his life depended on it.

  • Jesus christ and this is LIVE! they had such performers back in the day

  • Funky!

    He got soul in it!

  • ...

  • I saw James Brown at the Norva Theater in Norfolk, Virginia back in 2000. He was 67 years old at the time. He would have blown any other band off the stage that night. He was just that good.

  • this is real soul, it gets no better than this

  • So much of white rock music owes to James Brown and soul music (which itself owes to gospel and blues). Even the "screaming" style one hears in many heavy metal singers (Ian Gillan to Eric Adams and beyond) goes directly back to James Brown. James Brown was the true king! (Check out his brilliant duet with Pavarotti).

  • OMG! ja

  • James brown is too good man

  • I never saw him, or mj in person; but if I could have had the chance, it would have been James Brown. I think He was a great artist!!!

  • On the best day he ever had Jackson would not be worthy to shine James Brown's shoes. JB forgot more than MJ ever knew.

  • I agree with You 100%!!!

  • @VA24541 well jb himself says different

  • cry me a river...i believe ppl can have and resolve altercations/miscommunications w/o crying...

  • best!

  • i meant in terms of appearance...herb-

i dont think havoc could actually recreate any of this...jus thought the faces looked similar...

shit ya act like they're callin me to do casting....

  • "Hardest working man in show bussiness". That move at 1:45 is one of the greatest of all time.

And imagine, he never says nigga, bitch, or any of the other essentials of hip-hop.

  • The number one Soul Shouter and Funk Machine of All-Time. No contest!

  • SOUL

  • baddest mofo to walk the earth!

  • Listen to this guy's beat.. i heard the james brown sample and had no words..one of the best samples i've ever heard!!!

    /watch?v=fkVGWLq4Rdw

    you gon love this!

  • HIT!

  • whoo!...

yo havoc from mobb deep should be cast to play james brown if they ever make a movie...

  • @soulmziklova i was only comparing chris and james because they both are singers/entertainers chris cant touch james brown that was the pt I was tryin 2 make

  • ke temazo 6 veces he tenido ke mirarlo , inimitable

  • LOL!!! They weren't ready for that back then!!! This performance is the very definition of "Ahead of it's time."

  • the passion, the energy, the theatrics...its unmatched...especially by anybody from my genaration...lol the onyl thing james and chris have n common is their last names!

  • @TBryant20 thats true but u cant say he wasnt influenced

and he does dance unlike all the other singers who have all this crap they call videos

sometimes i feel bad for kids my age who dont listen to this

    and im 15

  • ....Please!!!

...ok i think he tryed to run because he was afraid to shit his pants...

....but the other man ( maybe a manager ) dont let him go ( because of the kraut who had payed ) ....cruel situation for him.

  • Thank you very much for your great comment.

  • uhh my god....i want to get a serenade like this from somebody...

  • @PONYBOY430 ha ha ha ! little richard?

  • this is for any young artist aspiring to stardom. study this man closely listen to the music and watch every gesture in syncapation. they didnt call him mister dynamite for nothing. michael jackson and prince are both copied in his image. james does all the right things that generate excitement for an audience. he learned it in the black church. and i promise it works. of course you must add a heapin dose of talent to the pot.

  • god !!

  • if you are so smart please tell all of you tube who taught michael jackson to do all of his dance moves. to my knowledge he is the originator of many dances use today like the robot and is the king of pop which i may add is a form of dance which stated with him so please tell us who taught him all these moves and tell us why michael gets all the credit for them

  • the robot came from a 70s dance group called the lockers which spawned the 80s electric boogaloo. moonwalk, slide glide etc. mike made them popular @ motowns 25 when the world discovered him anew. youtube has plenty vids of pre-motwn25 mj look them up. also look up electric boogaloo and the lockers. mike immulated jb jackie wilson and sammy davis. mixed in contemporary moves from the above mentioned sources and you got mike jackson. mike and i are contemporaries so i know what i am saying.

  • He puts so much enegy in his songs. I love it! :D

    I love him!

  • To soulmziklova: You are at best naive. Take a look at real work of masters and try to appreciate it without being judgmental. James Brown himself admired MJ for his dance. You can't argue with James Brown here. MJ was gifted from nature and worked hard to become one of the best.

James Brown copied many masters who came before him and people who would come after would copy J Brown, MJ, and so on... Just try to enjoy, don't fight for nothing.

  • mike was a copy of james brown, dont fool yourself. i am a contemporary with mike, every black boy of that era imitated james brown you werent kool if you couldnt do the james brown(hucklebuck). james was an original he took hucklebucking off the streets of the south married it to gospel quartet routines, baptized it in R&B and redicovered the 1 there you have james brown, funk and soul. mike was originally marketed as a mini-james brown. james claimed that was his idea originally as well.

  • james brown claimed tht he originally discovered mike in chicago at a talent show that he sponsored. he visualized mike as a mini-jb. this doesnt diminish the talent of mike jackson. mike took the robot and moon walk from the electric boogaloo of the lockers as well as the robot and gave it a world-wide audience. so much so that many believe falsely that he invented it. until his death mike was a near carbon copy of james brown and jackie wilson combined. he admited as much himself.

  • Oh, excuse me,(good fun), but I've got to get in on this one, because you all are off base.Moonwalk is from electric what? Try Vaudeville, mistrals, etc, it wasn't moon walking then. Brown's moves, working the mic etc came directly from Joe Tex's early stuff. He accidentally lost control of the mic and used foot retrieve. He perfected timing falling to floor the one legged shimmy way before Brown. I remember the feud btwn them when Brown tried to take credit for years afterward.Again lol.

  • @kdakuginow the moonwalk came directly from the electric boogaloo in 1979, as for james brown, well his partner bobby byrd said they developed the james brown act back in the 50s when they were a southern gospel act. the huckle buck that brown did was minstrel the spins and splits come from tap the kneedrops and capes straight southern gospel as well as the mike tricks ive heard the joe tex stuff but joe tex came on the scene in the 1960s. james brown was touring all over the south in the 1950s

  • Oh I love this, but WRONG . . . Check out the hoofers from the 1930's and 40's. I'm telling you, they were doing that sliding backwards step in those old black and white movies.I remember as a kid watching it, now get this, the admission to the movies back in my day was 15 cents to get in. Brown didn't come on the scene until 1954.

  • @kdakuginow now that shimmy thing he did that might be joe, oh and the feud my pops told me the feud was over a woman. james shotup joe tex club or something over that stuff.....everybody copies from everybody in show business. both cats come from the chuuch, i have seen folk do everything that james brown, joe tex, prince, michael jackson, little richard and the nicholas brothers all and some done in the church including flips. lol! theres a video on youtube of a cat doing splits in da chuuch

  • I agree, everybody copies somebody else. Yes, part of the feud was over a woman, because Tex recorded a song,"You Can Have Her" when discovering what Brown did. However, I remember seeing one of Brown's first appearances at the Apollo back in the day and his routine wasn't as flashy as in later years.I still maintain Tex, who I saw in the early years, use some moves Brown didn't add to his act until later. Hey, but thanks for memories. The excitement of seeing them then will always be fresh.

  • That is the most amazing screaming I've EVER heard in my life.... He is a fucking god.

  • White Girls going crazy

  • LOL i bet the media wasn't happy about that back in the day! LOL

  • @V78thgz nzikn der Kerl!!!!!!!!!!!! FETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!

  • @V78thgz James brown was maybe the only one capable of screaming back at equal volume. Repect, Mr Brown!

  • @V78thgz Sometimes I wish I was a white girl just so I could scream like that in my room while I'm watching this.

  • at 2:26 That looks like the move Michael Jackson took from James Brown - This special turn and landing with knees bent.

    Here is Michael Jackson's teacher.

Lol, James Brown is not as smooth with this move as MJ , but he keeps signing with the passion and it still looks cool.

  • The PENULTIMATE Performer Extraordinaire ! I still love you James - always will 

  • Where did all of the shows like Shin-Dig go?

  • Master performer. If you dont know James Brown you dont know music.

  • ummm. i think he did say shit. hahaha the way he said it was funny i'm sorry

  • Bobby Byrd(look on Wikipedia) if im not mistaken wrote this,He found james brown....all REAL SOUL SINGERS start off in those back wood, country churches, thats why they sing with so much feeling

  • now this is begging at it's best

  • Yea he said shit jb did not like fucking up thats why he was so hard on his band for makeing mistakes and it was on live tv so yea trust me he said shit at 2:27 pissed but but a true peformer recovers like him just keep going

  • one of the best stage preformers ever ! this is what should be topping the charts

  • Gmandofgod, I totally agree. Anyone who has never seen The TAMI show has truly missed James Brown's greatest perfomance, ever filmed. That DVD is hard to find, but it is worth looking for. There's over a dozen performers, and James Brown steals the entire movie. God bless his spirit, and may God embrace his spirit, with His love.

  • He said SHIT! listen at 227

  • u think thats what he said? i think its just a yell. other wise it sounds like "shEt" with an eh

  • sounded like he said "shit" to me. and thus the seven second delay is born? *LOL*

  • true

  • This was a good performance, but if you think this beats the TAMI show, you're nuts!! Lol!!

  • nuts my ass. check him out at 2:26 the mike broke and he keeps perfect time.

  • James Brown does not show the emotion and the drama that he showed at the TAMI Show! Plus at the TAMI Show he had his band and all of the Famous Flames with him.

  • this performance of please, please, please is better than the one on the tami show, but that's just my opinion.

  • james brown please please please please please dont go

  • Yeap one year ago yesterday. RIP big man.

  • one year ago today. rip James Brown you are missed!

  • james brown please please please dont go

  • im so glad someone reposted this performance! this is the best performance of the song IMO

  • This is great!!

  • i don't think the mike broke-but if it did he keeps perfect time at 2:26

  • hhahahahahah, I know he was mad the mike broke

  • I think the mike didn't break, but yes he was mad that it droped from its base, you can tell by the shout he mad right after it!!! LOL!!!!

  • that mic could not handle james brown. james brown was too much
