I'm pretty new to this style, can somebody explain what he is doing by rubbing the two markers together, is like taking an empty one and applying more ink to the felt?
I think I have learned more from this video then on any other, I am very new to the world of art but I plan on syncing my hands in deep! ha :) Is there a particular brand to go for with the pens? and is there a certain type of paper that works best with those pens or for flash?
@lekiarose i like to use watercolor paper for my flash, thick sturdy, and can handle any sort of color application i want to use....pencil,marker,acrylic,oil paint,watercolor, etc...with minimal bend.....good luck
@clanNSR If he's doing what I do, it's rubbing a new pen full of ink onto another pen of the same colour that has run out of ink so there is a tiny amount of ink on the end of the old pen then using flick shading to create the short, dark fade you see in the snake. Im not worried about sharing any of my knowledge about art techniques to protect my work, art is about learning and experimenting
@CheCrookTattoo i dont think Dave is either?...or he wouldnt show it too you on camera, im sure if this was meant to be a lecture vid he woulda broke it down, but notice he did not say a word, not that type of vid! appreciate the info tho!
@jerksauce81 woah i never accused Dave of not wanting to share info. It's very often you find artists who want to keep their knowledge to themselves, I was openly saying im not one of them, i never pointed fingers as to who DOES keep to themselves

@CaptainHowdySH Thanks, the prismacolor markers were exactly what I was looking for.. a big pricy, but they will be worth it.
