@TheWebCamJam When that problem happens to me i usually just mess around until something works, but what seems to work the best to keep everything the same. Just when it gives you the choice of 16:9 and 4:3, it gives you smaller and flatter text when you select the 16:9.

Dude, you're a life saver. It's a little different with a slim PS3 but it definitely worked. Brought my PS3 to a friend's house and hooked it up via HDMI, brought it back home and just had that black screen. Thanks for the video!

@blueriser The power switch light doesn't behave the same way on a slim but the trick works. Even if the light immediately switches to red or green depending on the on/off, just hold it anyway. When you plug the AV switch in, press and hold to turn on and there should be a second beep on the 5th second. It'll work.
