That's what I always loved about Keano, he will speak his mind and doesn't back down. You can hate him for what he did in Ireland in 2002 or what he said about O Shea in 2005 and how he left United, but that's just who he is. He'll say what is on his mind and he won't ever back down.

A players honours list doesnt indicate how good a player they are. Fernando Torres has no club honours. Kieran Richardson and Phil Neville have more PL winners medals than Steven Gerrard. Djimi Traore has a European Cup winners medal as does Jerzy Dudek. All an honours list shows is how good a team they played in. Or In Michael Carrick's case, how good a team who's bench he sat on while picking up medals. Liverpool had a goalie once, Pegguy Arphexad who won six medals despite not playing

That's what I always loved about Keano, he will speak his mind and doesn't back down. You can hate him for what he did in Ireland in 2002 or what he said about O Shea in 2005 and how he left United, but that's just who he is. He'll say what is on his mind and he won't ever back down.

I agree & disagree. I think its true that a lot of the English players didn't have great seasons, so why did they get picked? Why wasn't Hart chosen? What about Young, Johnson etc.
I don't think Capello is a great manager. Sure he's great over a league campaign but since he won the Champions League in the early 90's he's managed Real Madrid twice, Milan, Roma & Juventus and hasn't gotten past the quarters since. Knockout football isn't his thing. Again, great in a qualifying leagues but no more

Keane has a good eye for how the media overhype players, and how that machine works. He summed up very well how so-called stars performed all season. Never used to like Keane very much, but am warming to how accurately and succinctly he calls plays as he sees them.

So the media use Keane to generate headlines that ultimately will keep people buying their paper or watching their tv programme.You just have to look at how much anger and passionate debate has been invoked from this video alone!
